Name: Katherine “Kate” Messa
Race: Cat-girl
Gender: Female
Age: Late teens
Height: 5’ 4”
Weight: 108 lbs.
Hair Color: Orange/Deep Blond
Eye Color: Emerald Green
Appearance: Kate is, in all respects, a good looking girl for her age. She’s slim, with little to no body fat on her, very much giving the impression that she could be younger than she really is. She is not the most overly endowed woman you will meet, or even close to that. Despite, long hours of work and a well kept schedule have kept her in extremely good shape, yet in a petite way. She doesn’t show much of any type of muscle tone, yet a few can testify it is there.
The cat girl was never really one to get entirely flashy, preferring to just let any jewelry she got collect dust rather than wear it. Though she has a soft spot for certain things, especially those that her friends give her. One exception to this is a small pure silver cross often kept under her shirt safely. Her cloths aren’t the most expensive, but are comfortable and look fairly good on her. Often, when not overly hot, she wear something of a very light sweatshirt, often of a light teal or crimson-like red. It’s also often with a pair of jeans, or some sort of longer, unless needed, skirt.
Her ears, triangular and fluffy, are calico and a bit closer to the side of her head than to the top, like many other cat girls and the fewer cat boys. Her tail is also of the same fluffy calico color, in this case brownish, and some of her teeth are slightly pointed. (IE, canines) Kate also happens to have fur that travels up in a thin coat around her tail, extending a few inches before smoothly translating to human skin near the one imperfection on her skin. Unknown to most, this is a rather small tatoo that is on her right, upper hip. It isn’t often seen, and she would nearly have to be naked to for it to fully show.
Personality: Kate is a very social, stubborn and active girl. Often the type to take on a lot of things in life, and enjoy every minute as she works through all of it again and finishes. Then take up more work and repeat the process. She herself would testify to never being able to sit still and not play around with something. Or for that matter, be able to work for a while in one place without sifting her attention to something else, be it other work, grooming her tail, or fiddling around with whatever is on hand. Though she is also a very quick learner when it comes to games and unlike a few of her species also highly enjoys the water as well.
A pacifist in most rights, it has yet to stop the girl from working on her healing. Her actions though are driven mostly from her own morals jumbled together, and only something that went against a lot of that would force her to resort to force. An important thing of note, is that the girl also loves new things, and ofte does her best to explore when she can.
History:
((Some things are borrowed, any beef that you have outside judging mod just pm me, as nothing is too big I believe))
Katherine Messa’s story begins at a time of peace, and also a few years before she was even conceived. Her father, and her mother as well, were both the same type of person that she was, a cat girl and boy. In almost every respect this was completely normal, though her mother was extremely lucky in this case. The cat boys were always a lot rarer than their female counterparts, and she was also lucky.
She was basically everything that a man would want in a woman; at least it was enough for her father to choose her. Whether it was for her looks, personality or some other third factor, Bell was taken as his wife.
Her father, William Messa, was a pure blood adventurer in his time, like many other Althanians at the time. Though he was different than many of them, besides appearance or skill. There were many better looking than him, and also many warriors who swung their blade swifter and more powerfully, but none of that mattered. Will was smart, not the most genius man you ever met, but he knew enough of his own abilities and could guess the dangers of the area to get more than those who couldn’t.
It was on one of his journeys that he ended up coming across Bell, specifically one in a small area in Corone, known to many as Radenseth, named after a hero of legend. It was a magical evening when the two had run into each other, or at least with some street mages performing petty magical tricks it was. Will immediately was taken by the cat girl, especially since she was the one who apologized first in a joyful tone, and stood without trying to do anything crazy or akin to that.
The adventurer settled down, or at least something close enough to date the cat girl. It wasn’t until she was the same person whom he needed to meet with to actually get a drink of ale at the local pub. From there, sparks almost seemed to fly as they continued to get closer to each other, and eventually in the more intimate senses of the phrase. Nearly a year or so later, Will swallowed his pride, speaking five syllables to Bell that had destroyed and made greater men than he.
Will you marry me?
Bell accepted, hugging the adventurer and laughing happily. They completed the sacred ritual the next spring, on the eve of a holiday that Bell celebrated called Easter. The wedding was good, and there was nothing really wrong. The reception was fun for those who were there, and in general it was another great moment. The two settled down firmly now, Will saying that he had enough to get them by for a while. In reality this was probably a gross understatement, especially given the man’s collection of magical items and special weapons he salvaged from old temples or forgotten planes.
The cat boy bought the bar where his wife worked at, though allowed all of the people to stay, considering he didn’t have much experience as to how it would be run. The adventurer was often on the receiving end of the glass of ale, not the one who gave it out and paid for it in the first place. Will retired young his life as the adventurer, taking up the complicated task of town doctor, or rather the doctor’s apprentice. In a way, he almost took the place of his wife, who had left her job for a time, a miracle growing in her stomach. A few months later, a new child’s cries were heard from inside one of the Pub’s rooms.
Katherine Messa, the child was to be called.
She was a simply child, her cat like features easily noticeable even from the womb. She seemed so helpless and innocent to the love-stricken parents, though it was the same affect every couple’s child often brought upon them. The girl was borne into a lap of high middle class, and grew up with a nice home. Though the greatest thing about the area was that there were many other kids with the same features as Kate. There was no discrimination among the children, and any of their squabbles were simply over some sort of toy or rule in a popular game.
Kate’s life, when she had reached the tender age of five, was simple. Rise, get dressed, eat, play outside, come back in, play with daddy or mommy, and then be tucked into bed by the other. It was a simple life, and one that many children of her life style had. It was around this time, she started to take gymnastics, mostly because of her father’s influence. His exact words were simple, and also his motto in life. “Being able to get away, is the greatest trick anyone could have. Sides, she’s a curious girl, and I want her to at least be comfortable climbing something.
His words held true, and Kate kept to her classes, given by one of the younger adventurers who often stayed at the Pub, even so much as sneaking into the man’s room to wake him up for them. She had a talent for it, and of course it helped with the lack of injuries some of the other kids got at around her age. Around this time, her father and mother gave her a present, nearly out of the blue. It was of a cross, black, and made of steel. The same cross also looked pretty, and Kate loved her parents for it.
((Kate doesn’t remember from her on out))
Flash forward four years, and Radenseth had been noticed by a rather shady group. They were known as the Gideon order, people who hated the cat people above all else. Radenseth, they deemed, needed to be purged of its infestation.
A few nights later, Kate was woken with a start from her sleep. Opening her eyes, they came into contact with her mother, who sighed with relief. There was worry in her mother’s eyes, as well as a strange bandage in her left side. Kate didn’t notice either of these, simply wondering where they were going in their pj’s. She hit her mom, who for some reason suddenly stopped as they were about to go downstairs into the Pub area, where Kate’s vision cleared, as well as any sense of fatigue. Her father was fighting downstairs, a strange blade whistling in the air and cutting through men like paper. Blood began to spurt everywhere, though her father included. There must have been well over a dozen wounds in his body, nearly making his entire form covered in red. He was breathing hard in short, ragged breaths as Kate was whisked away, her lower lip beginning to tremble as some of the soldiers caught sight of her mother.
They ran up the stairs, her mother gasping and pulling Kate’s hand along as they ran into one of the nearby rooms. As soon as they were inside, she closed the door, hastily locking it and telling Kate to hide under the bed. Her little girl did so as her mother opened the window, breaking some branches as there was a thud at the door. Kate whimpered as Bell ran back to brace herself against it, trying to keep the men from entering. Her small frame was eventually over powered, and she spilled forward, three or four men entering. Kate shifted, getting a better view of something but suddenly froze.
She shifted in time to see a heavy boot collide into the side of her sweet mommy, who cried out in pain. The men laughed among themselves as something was passed into the room. The men looked at it and laughed, then dropped it in front of Bell, who stopped even whimpering to look. It was William’s, Kate’s daddy, head, severed off roughly. Kate gulped, and Bell was silent as a dagger a stabbed into her arm. Bell cried out again, tears flowing from her face as the blood began to dribble out. The man wrenched the weapon out, spilling even more blood.
They continued to torture her for what seemed like hours for the cat girl under the bed, but Kate passed out after what were only a few moments from the shoulder stab. Though in that time the blood reached her, and touched her hand. It was the final thing she saw before blanking out.
She awoke quickly, to the shout of people who had come to see the Pub. The other’s who were staying in it had apparently been slain, though two survived out of the eight who were there. Kate’s first words after she had been freed were shrieks for her mommy and daddy, and then she broke down again, crying and sobbing hysterically moments after she shrieked. She stayed there, sitting down and crying, though abating to soft throbs as the moments constantly replayed in her mind. Her father fighting, her mother dieing, her father’s head. She rocked slightly, back and forth, trying to get some grip on the situation.
She was taken in, clothed, and ate with one of her friend’s houses, but she barely noticed what she did or even put into her mouth. She seemed distant to the family, and worry set it. Over time, it abated, as Kate was taken into them like a daughter. She slowly opened herself back up, but also seemed to freeze up at random intervals. Over the next couple of years, life slowly went back to normal, though there were far less anthro children for a time in the area. Kate had been told that they simply ran away because of the bandits. Whatever good amount of money or valuable things was left behind from her father was looted by the bandits, and the Messa girl was left alone in life of family relations.
((Back to stuff she remember))
Life went well till the point where she is up to know. Currently she’s living fairly well in a shop in the bazaar, working there for the owner as a merchant for her room and board. Currantly she works part time, but the owner also runs the shop as part of his retirment, and doesn't mind if she takes vacation for extended times. There wasn’t much else of note that could be said about the girl, beyond of course her now almost fanatical study of healing despite her lack of nearly all magic. The most of note could be said for was her own incredible enjoyment in working, as well as her hobbies which are many and numerous.
Skills:
Medicine/Healing: This comes in two types. On one hand, Kate is exceptionally good with various styles that the (modern) doctor would know. Most of which would require a scalpel of some sort. NONE of this could be quickly done, but if say someone broke an arm badly, with correct time and equipment she could reset the bone so it healed right.
The second is the actual medicine, and more so ”magical” in nature. Kate knows many different types of herbs, many magical and just as many able to help someone in need. She knows some that could help stop bleeding, or to do quite a few other things. The best she could do is making someone, other than herself, heal at max of 3x as fast as they would normally. Surprisingly, her herbs are also cancelled out if someone already has healing powers, unless Kate prepares ahead of time for them. Each must be applied as needed. Some injected, some put on wound etc. (cannot be done on herself within reason. Her Feet/tail may be exception, couldn't if her hand was injuried.)
Gymnastics: Kate is a very agile, balanced, and careful girl. Both from training and from her own natural skills, she surpasses many others at this. She’s very limber, and also has great endurance for her size. Some such tricks she is able to do are running up/along a wall, (10 ft) jumping very high straight up, (10 ft.) plus also having very good control over her own balance on things, including swinging/jumping from them.
Cooking: Kate, though often doesn’t show it, is a fairly good cook and could at least make most things edible, or very tasty.
Traits: Italics are OOC ones that Kate doesn’t know about.
Immunity to Seven Deadly Sins: Kate cannot be swayed into performing something beyond meager amounts of any of the seven deadly sins. One example, is that she can’t show much anger, or desire something she doesn’t need too greatly.
Hematophobia- Fear of blood. Self explanatory. This is a subconsous fear that Kate has, that will cause her to become –very- shaken up and scared, much like a deer caught in headlights. Note, that this only occurs when she isn’t that prepared, like if someone was stabbed, or on a battlefield. Kate has shown the fortitude to be able to perform surgery at times when needed, but she also cannot focus for much more than helping the person.
Items: Not counting anything listed in Appearance or above.

The other is one of her more prize possesions. It is an obsidian scalpel, enchanted by the same mage to be near impossible to lose its edge, and about as hard as well made steel.
(1x) Oak box that is lined with mythrill mesh inside. Enchantment allows it to hold up to 10 different types of herbs. Currently Empty
(1x) Scrapbook, half filled with various healing leaves and how to use them
(1x) Set of sleeping supplies. Including blanket, pillow, plushy etc.
