Name: Shane Oak
Age: 20
Race: Human
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 177 lbs.
Personality: Shane is a person who enjoys life and respects it. When speaking to others, he is very polite but can and will argue, politely, with someone if he doesn't agree with them on something. If he ever makes friends, perhaps he will speak in a more friendly tone with them, but if he is speaking with someone he doesn't know, he will be very formal and polite. The only thing that could make Shane become angry is someone disrespecting nature, he cannot stand that and he will confront them about it. The civilized world is still a mystery to Shane and he wants to learn everything about it, and such, he is very curious.
History: Shane wasn't even one year old when his parents abandonned him under an oak tree. He was found by a monk who named him Shane Oak, Shane from the name that was written on the basket he was found in, and Oak because he was found under an oak tree. Shane was then brought to the temple in which many monks lived together, he was then raised as one of their own.
In his early years, all Shane did was play with some toys the monks had carved out of wood for him, but as soon as he reached the age of six, they started to educate him. Their education consisted of living in the nature, being taught all sorts of things about it. Shane and the monks only returned to the temple to sleep and when the sun was rising, they'd go back outside until it was night. Shane's favorite activity outside was to play with rocks and earth, he'd put rocks on top of one another and make small sculptures out of mud. One day, after a monk had shown him out to make food out of plants, Shane went to play with his rocks and mud like he always did, but something was different. As he was sculpting little man out of mud, the mud began to shape itself in the same form that Shane was thinking about at the moment, this surprised him, he didn't know what had just happened. He ran towards the other monks and told them what had happened. At first, didn't believe him, but then Shane showed them, he picked up some mud, started to shape it and then, it happened again, the mud shaped itself into something. The monks were astonished, most of them knew a bit of magic, but it was very different from what Shane was showing them. They congratulated Shane for being able to use magic, telling him that not everyone had that gift and encouraged him to keep using it.
As he grew 10 years old, Shane was taught more things by the monks, such as the importance of life, that he had to respect every living being, they were all equals and deserved to live. They also taught him the art of meditation, how it could calm someone's mind and help them with do the right decisions. Shane loved meditating, he liked the silence and peace of mind that it brought him. Everyday, he would get on top of a big rock near the temple and meditate there for hours, sometimes from the moment he got up to the moment he went to sleep at night.
Now 16 years old, Shane started to get a bit more rebelious, often arguing with monks about subjects on which they didn't share the same opinion. The monks didn't hate Shane and he didn't hate the monks, they just couldn't agree with one another. Shane mentionned a few times his desire to go out of the forest into the world, but the monks prohibited him from doing so, saying that they didn't need to go out there, all they needed was in the forest they lived in. Shane disagreed, he was hungry for knowledge and thought that there wasn't anything left for him to learn in the forest.
And so, on his 20th birthday, he left the temple, he didn't escape or anything, before leaving, he explained the reasons why he was leaving to the monks. They didn't agree with his way of thinking, but they couldn't keep him at the temple either because sooner or later, he'd just leave anyway. And so, the monks and Shane said their goodbyes to each other and Shane left for the city which was a good two day walk from the temple.
The first village he visited was holding a fighting tournament. Shane had receive a bit of martial arts training from the monks as a way to keep his body healthy and he had always liked it and so, he decided to enter the tournament. Needless to say he lost to all the experts that had gathered there as they had more experience than him, but he enjoyed the experience anyway. It made him realized that he wanted to be even stronger and that he would use his journey to gain knowledge and to get stronger.
Appearance: Shane is a well built man, tall and strong. His hair, that he let grow to be different from the monks he lived with, is short brown hair. His eyes were as green as the greenest plains. His face showed no facial hair due to him religiously shaving every morning.
Skills:
Knowledge of Nature: Having always lived in nature up until now, Shane knows a lot about it, what grows where, what's edible and what isn't, animal footprints, types of rocks, etc. Though knowing a lot about a subject doesn't mean he knows everything, he still has a lot to learn.
Strong: Shane played with rocks a lot, and as he grew bigger, so did the rocks he played with. Everyday he was lifting rocks, making small structures out of them and then the next day he would demolish the structure and make a new one, that was his way of having fun and training at the same time. Doing this everyday helped Shane build his physical strength to the point it is at now, he is stronger than the average human.
Abilities:
Tremor: By stomping his feet on the ground, Shane can send a wave of energy through the ground that creates a small tremor in a 20 feet radius around him, causing people that aren't standing still to lose their balance. Shane can use this ability 3 times per day and needs a full night of sleep before he can use it again (8 hours).
Rupture: Shane slams his fist against the ground, which ruptures the ground, creating rocky spikes along a 15 feet long line in front of him, launching people and objects 6 feet in the air, targets take damage upon landing (Damage: What one would feel when falling on rocky spikes from 6 feet in the air). If he repeatedly uses the ability without resting, its power (range and launching power) lessens down to a maximum of a third of its original power (range becomes 5 feet, people/objects get launched 2 feet) practically doing nothing. Ability can be used four times a day, Shane then needs to rest before he can use it again at full power.
Earth Manipulation: Shane can manipulate the mud and rock around him and shape it into anything he wants. Cannot make something bigger than a basketball at his current level, he doesn't possess enough power to do so. He can keep this ability up for a total of 3 posts without needing to rest (If he cancels this ability after 2 posts and doesn't rest, he'll have 1 post left of using it).
Equipment/Weapons:
- Monk clothing in bad condition, he still wears the same clothes he had when he left the temple.
Age: 20
Race: Human
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 177 lbs.
