The History of the Raven’s
In more detail: Born on the isle of black sun, Karel was the son of a wealthy family. He grew up training in the art of the sword, quickly surpassing one master after another. The only person who provided any challenge was his older sister Serra.
For his fourteenth birthday he was given the Zantesuken, a blade with few rivals. Though he has not acquired the muscles and skills needed to wield such a powerful blade, he made a goal of his life to one day be worthy of wielding the blade.
Two years later, a group of drunkards were messing around at night and tipped over a torch. The fire spread like water spilling onto the ground eventually engulfing half a block of homes, including his own. After a days work with his father, they returned to a pile of ash. His one true worthy opponent, Serra, had died along with his mother. The only thing he has to remind him of his two lost family members is the locket he always wears around his neck.
His father eventually gave up hope and now sits in his home muttering incoherently. Karel looked at his father's pitiful state and vowed the same fate would not happen to him. Taking his sword and a bit of traveling money he set off to fulfill his goal of one day wielding the sword of Odin, Zantesuken.
Karel's first goal was to truly come to terms with his sister and mother's death. In order to accomplish this he vowed to kill all those involved in with the fire that killed half his family. After spending only half a day in Scara Brae, finishing up his purchase of his new blade, the Serra Karla Raven Karel fought to the limit against an assassin named Magnus. After fighting to a draw, the two parted ways, only to meet each other in a steel prison onboard an airship. Getting all the information Karel needed, he learned that the man who owned the ship was none other than Barte, the uncle who paid for his nephew's bail and arranged so the child had to serve no punishment. After escaping from prison Karel met up with his friend Daniel, and the two killed Barte, satisfying the last of Karel's thirst for vengeance. After escaping the airship, Karel and Dan landed in the Underwood forest where they spent much time together.
After splitting ways with Magnus and Daniel, Karel returned to Scara Brae where he found himself in another battle with a mysterious man who wielded two axes attached to gigantic chains. Learning some history behind his blade, the Zantetsuken, Karel learned of a sister sword that rivaled his blade. It was known as the Masamune, and it was nearby to where Karel was currently. Taking off on a quest to find the blade, Karel made friends with two people. An elf named Tayoithua, and Letho. With their help, Karel fought off brigands, killed beasts, and scaled the cold mountains where he fought the battle of his life against his rival, Vladimir Sigma. The two battled for what seemed like hours, drawing to no conclusion. Vlad took off with the Masamune, both vowing to one day fight each other until one stood victorious.
Zantesuken: An extremely sharp blade with the properties to cut even the strongest steel, it does require an immense amount of strength, discipline, and skill to wield. Karel will NEVER discard this weapon for anything, even if he can't wield the blade yet. Learning more about the blade, Karel knows the blade can only be used in battle against the Masamune. Otherwise, the blade can never be wielded.
Serra Karla Raven: A steel sword he named after his dead sister. Karel never goes anywhere without it, and trusts no other blade in battle.
Locket: The locket is made of a weak silver set in the shape of a circle surrounded by a dragon. The locket opens up to reveal a very torn and old picture of two young women. Another item Karel will never discard.
A long flowing coat made of Burlap (thinly woven to fit dimensions.) of a dark blue hue. Symbols of death and Scythes cover the back.
Black Burlap pants made to be thin as his trench coat to allow maximum maneuverability while in combat.
Raggedy Black boots: The boots he wore when he started his journey, they have now become so worn out that he can't seem to trade them for a new pair. With some minor holes he really hates it when it rains.
Swordsmanship: The ability to wield swords.
Shadow Lurker: The ability to hide in the shadows or remain unseen in large crowds or heavy concentrated areas. He can choose when to be seen. Works well at night, in the day he is MUCH easier to spot when using this ability. Can use this ability X times per day. Once caught, cannot Shadow Lurk for a 2 hr. period. (X = character level.)
Evade: While concentrating solely on his opponent(s), he can evade most attacks. This ability does not allow him to attack and if he can't evade he will receive extra damage. The more this ability is used, the less likely it will work. At low levels, HIGH chance of failing.
Counter: Once mastering the art of evasion, he can counter an enemy(s) attack dealing damage. Only works after mastering evade and counter attacks get weaker with each evade. Must have evaded successfully in order to counter. Must have two swords in hand to counter.
Double Sword: This ability allows Karel to wield two blades as efficiently as he wields one blade. However, two blades are still heavy, and thus is stuck with only being able to use small, lighter weight swords. And wielding two blades is an exhausting task, and thus Karel will tire faster if he uses two blades. Karel can only counter when he has two blades in his hand.
