{Closed to Silence Sei, Rehtul Orlouge and Ariel (aka turbo)}

The faintest light emanated from the Radasanth countryside. Among the rolling hills rested the silhouette of a village the psion long since forgot. The path before him pulsed with a gentle guiding light urging him to continue within. Were a traveler along the route not specifically seeking out the Mystic City, chances were high they would never even realize the proximity of the beautiful town.

Logan followed the path in silence, paying respect to those who had come long before him and sacrificed many times over. Warriors had given everything to keep the city protected from nefarious outside forces, and the psion understood the power of such dedication and commitment to their cause. His head lowered in a quiet nod as he continued past the first couple of small buildings toward the Orlouge compound.

The compound, if you could even call it that, resembled more a mild manor than a compound. While large enough to contain a few bedrooms, bathrooms and an array of various rooms for other uses, the residence still felt simple and in a way, discreet.

His own silence was matched by his travelling companion, Ariel, whom he met a few days before. There was a small skirmish with bandits, and while the psion intended to aid her, she defended herself and barely broke much of a sweat. Truth be told, he was a little bit shocked at how easily she dispatched the bandits, especially considering her affinities for ice. Her silence seemed a bit strange, but he chalked it up to the magnitude of setting foot within a Mystic City for the first time.

Ariel's affinity for ice and Logan's affinity for water were the reason they both found themselves approaching the Orlouge manor. Sei had invited Logan to assist in some of the research and studies of Rehtul, a young elemancer still finding his way.

The psion initially objected under the pretense of not understanding his own abilities or limitations, but the Mystic insisted, mostly because the younger Orlouge was in dire need of guidance. Upon finding Ariel by complete chance, the psion figured another fledgling elementalist might offer a different perspective or point of view to his own. Plus, she was kind of cute. And who was Logan to ignore an opportunity to travel with a cute girl?

As they neared the house, he took a deep breath. Logan had not seen Sei, and honestly he hadn't spoken with him much beyond that, in years. They went back decades, but there always lingered this air of uncertainty between them. It wasn't uncertainty in their friendship, but more in how each of them conducted their own business. While Sei had built his empire through hard work and dedication, Logan still remained grounded firmly in his own life.

Logan more than provided for himself, but the Mystic was well beyond Logan's means both financially and politically. Where the psion could slip through crowds unnoticed, Sei would be lucky to step foot into a tavern and not be offered a round of drinks on the house.

"Ariel, welcome to the House of the Orlouge's, home of Sei Orlouge and a host of others. You can trust Sei, and from what I have been told you can trust Rehtul as well. We're all here for the same purpose, to better understand how we do what we do, perhaps so we can learn to harness our abilities better," he said as he glanced over to her before knocking on the door.

If Sei only knew how much I look up to him, he whispered silently.

It was then the doorway into the manor opened unexpectedly and Logan felt the warm presence of his old friend.

'Why did I get into this again?'... That was the question that the blonde halfling kept asking herself from some time now while looking at her white furred companion then stealing a quick glance at the guy next to her. The first answer that came into her mind almost instantly was money of course, as that is all the motivation a mercenary like her needs. After the amount of years she spent into this line of work, 99% of the times she couldn't find something else to tingle her interest in taking in a 'job' like this.

But this time something was off, she didn't knew how to word it but she accepted going with this silver headed guy a bit too easily. Normally she would negotiate a fix sum of money and a advanced payment but this time, she relied on her gut feeling and agreed to go with this black clad stranger for just 'a certain amount of money' as reward for serving as a lab rat, from her point of view. And as always, she didn't enquire about the purpose of the research because she simply wasn't interested in it. The blonde always found her mother's 'magic lessons' a bit boring and prefered her father's weapons training. Even so she had her fair share of magic knowledge and knew how magic works, most importantly...how to defend against it.

Honestly she wasn't sure if she could trust this 'Logan' guy at first, considering how they meet. He appeared after she fended off a few bandits that thought of her as a easy target. Poor souls didn't knew that they just marked themselves as her prey in the process. At first she thought that he might be backup but instead he offered her this 'job'. But in the last days he behave himself and didn't show any sign of hostility towards the blonde or her companion... so she decided to trust him for the time being.

What troubled her was the uncertainty of their destination. 'A manor in the hills' wasn't exactly a pinpoint location, especially in these places and without a map. "Are you sensing someone around us?" she asked her familiar in a whisper using ancient elvish tongue. Not that she wanted to hide from Logan but more out of reflex. She'd been addressing her childhood friend in that way ever since her mother taught it to the blonde. As for the whispering, Ariel knew where the general area that they were in. Even if her family was in exile she had heard tales of the battles that took place here and her warrior spirit dictated that she's pay at least some form of respect to the place.

As the white lion simply shook its head and let out a low growl, Ariel let out a sigh of relief..removing her left hand from the hilt of her weapon. She'd been unconsciously been resting it there as a result of walking into unfamiliar territory and as per her training... she was ready to react to any unforeseen circumstance the way she knew best, fighting her way out of it. Luckily such measures weren't needed now, as they seemed to reach their destination.

She watched as Logan took initiative and provided her a small introduction to the place before knocking. She simply noded politely and as he finished talking she would reply as such in a friendly manner: "I'll take your word for it, Logan. But I'll tell you this, I won't give up my weapons.If the Orlouges don't like it... well I'll still be expecting payment. Also I'm very interested to see a the house from inside. From out here it looks like they aren't short of anything." Of course the last part was a complete lie but he didn't need to know that. Her ears slightly twitched as she picked up coming from him, a soft whisper that she decided to ignore. Her left hand once again went on top of the hilt of her weapon without her noticing when the doors began to open. To her side Kimba simply tilted her head and blinked at the light that came from inside and at person who came into her line of sight.
