Logan

{Closed to Silence Sei, Rehtul Orlouge and Ariel (aka turbo)}
The faintest light emanated from the Radasanth countryside. Among the rolling hills rested the silhouette of a village the psion long since forgot. The path before him pulsed with a gentle guiding light urging him to continue within. Were a traveler along the route not specifically seeking out the Mystic City, chances were high they would never even realize the proximity of the beautiful town.
Logan followed the path in silence, paying respect to those who had come long before him and sacrificed many times over. Warriors had given everything to keep the city protected from nefarious outside forces, and the psion understood the power of such dedication and commitment to their cause. His head lowered in a quiet nod as he continued past the first couple of small buildings toward the Orlouge compound.
The compound, if you could even call it that, resembled more a mild manor than a compound. While large enough to contain a few bedrooms, bathrooms and an array of various rooms for other uses, the residence still felt simple and in a way, discreet.
His own silence was matched by his travelling companion, Ariel, whom he met a few days before. There was a small skirmish with bandits, and while the psion intended to aid her, she defended herself and barely broke much of a sweat. Truth be told, he was a little bit shocked at how easily she dispatched the bandits, especially considering her affinities for ice. Her silence seemed a bit strange, but he chalked it up to the magnitude of setting foot within a Mystic City for the first time.
Ariel's affinity for ice and Logan's affinity for water were the reason they both found themselves approaching the Orlouge manor. Sei had invited Logan to assist in some of the research and studies of Rehtul, a young elemancer still finding his way.
The psion initially objected under the pretense of not understanding his own abilities or limitations, but the Mystic insisted, mostly because the younger Orlouge was in dire need of guidance. Upon finding Ariel by complete chance, the psion figured another fledgling elementalist might offer a different perspective or point of view to his own. Plus, she was kind of cute. And who was Logan to ignore an opportunity to travel with a cute girl?
As they neared the house, he took a deep breath. Logan had not seen Sei, and honestly he hadn't spoken with him much beyond that, in years. They went back decades, but there always lingered this air of uncertainty between them. It wasn't uncertainty in their friendship, but more in how each of them conducted their own business. While Sei had built his empire through hard work and dedication, Logan still remained grounded firmly in his own life.
Logan more than provided for himself, but the Mystic was well beyond Logan's means both financially and politically. Where the psion could slip through crowds unnoticed, Sei would be lucky to step foot into a tavern and not be offered a round of drinks on the house.
"Ariel, welcome to the House of the Orlouge's, home of Sei Orlouge and a host of others. You can trust Sei, and from what I have been told you can trust Rehtul as well. We're all here for the same purpose, to better understand how we do what we do, perhaps so we can learn to harness our abilities better," he said as he glanced over to her before knocking on the door.
If Sei only knew how much I look up to him, he whispered silently.
It was then the doorway into the manor opened unexpectedly and Logan felt the warm presence of his old friend.
