View Full Version : The Siege of Irrakam (discussion thread)

The Valkyrie

Okay guys, here's where we discuss what's happening in the siege for those who participate. Try to keep up to date on what's happening elsewhere in the city. Here's a basic rundown of what's going on.

The Cult of Mitra is a group that has tried many times to gain control of Fallien. They do not worship Suravani, do not believe in the good that came out of the destruction of Fallien, and have tried many times to assassinate the Jya (Fallien's leader, sort of a high priestess).

Rava Featherblood is the Queen of the Harpies. She is jealous to the point of stupidity of Jya. She hates the leader of Fallien for her beauty, her power, and the respect the Jya has earned from her people. The leader of the Cult (Jathar Akselis) sent an envoy weeks ago to Rava and her harpies which brought the harpies and the Cult together as allies - a dangerous combination.

Jya is the highly respected leader of Fallien. She resides in her keep at the highest point in Irrakam with her priestesses and guards. She is telepathic, and has also the gift of prophecy. It is nearly impossible for a person to fool her with false intentions - some say she is the Althanian incarnation of the Goddess Suravani. Jya will do anything to save her people and protect the peace of her beloved country, even if it means her death.

I can't think of anything else.... questions about layout or what's to be expected? Please ask! I can't think of everything myself or else I wouldn't ask everyone to participate.

Oh and if you do particpate, please link to your thread here so everyone can keep up. This is also a place to recruit more participants in your thread if you do want to join this massive thing!

Have fun!

Ohh, rah!

I'll get my post in the main thread up in a few hours. (I'm going out right now.) I'll need to get the Calerian army mobile and moving through the desert.

I'l prefer making that one a separate thread if there are any participants interested in meeting up in the desert area and joining in from there. Just let me know, pm me, IM me, whatever.

How would one join into this massive thing?

Maybe I could get Eoin to convince some of the Alchemology Society involved?

Make a thread somewhere on Irrakam :p The seige hasn't actually begun yet, but it will soon. "After sunset" or something... Up to Valkyrie, who'll probably post the beginnings of the battle.

yeah I have a few questions, I really like the idea and want to participate though with a smaller scale thread.

1: obviously are threads that focus on a small part of a siege, like a small mercenary group hired to protect the life and business of a merchant, alrioght?

2: Is it possible to have a cultist who is capable of necromancy and/or demon summoning?

3: on a similar note, is it possible for a small force of villains make a premtive wave that Jya did not sense due to magical wards?

Thanks, this does seem like a fun FQ to get things moving again.

1. right that's what I was thinking exactly

2. well I suppose you could have a cultist who is capable of those things, but were you thinking of actually making that a new character or was that going to be an NPC your character was just connecting with?

3. and yes there could be a small force of villains and a magical ward --- just remember in the end, the Cultists have to lose and Jya must survive.

I'm glad you like the ideas for the FQ and hope you guys have fun with it.

Is the main siege thread only for the valkyrie, izvilvin, and ira shinkara to post in?

The Valkyrie

Yes it is closed to us so that we can direct it, but others can most definitely post other threads in the Keep.

Winter

I hope you approve of and like my involvement. I also hope it isn't too much. I have already posted the thread. Anyone can join into it if they want to either help the Alchemology Society, or want help from them. We can heal, fight, and place wards. Without need to be said, the Society has already placed guards around Jya's Keep.

I however have a question. May you, Valkyrie, enter my thread so that Eoin and the Elder Chairman of the Alchemology Society may speak to the Jya about the Society's involvement?

The Valkyrie
10-22-06, 12:21 PM
I can do that, or you can speak for the Jya using her as an NPC which she is. Just let me know what you had in mind and I'll be happy to do either. Are you just wanting Bryn to get Eoin into the Keep to begin with, or are you wanting me to also speak for Jya?

Winter
10-22-06, 12:23 PM
I dislike speaking for characters or even NPCs set forth by another person, so if you wouldn't mind, could you have Bryn escort Eoin and the Elder into Jya's room and also speak for Jya. I have a firm idea of the capabilities and limitations of the Alchemology Society, even though only about two hundred and fifty of the adept came.

The Valkyrie
10-22-06, 12:27 PM
Not a problem Winter - it will only be a brief cameo though, but I'm willing to do it for anyone who needs me to. I'll also have a character (Natalya Tichenyanchova) in the Outlander's Quarter at a luxury resort called The Phoenix Rising for any who need guidance or whatever there. I'll probably actually start a thread there with her, using the resort as a makeshift hospital.

Winter
10-22-06, 12:32 PM
I will have some of the Alchemology healers come and help out at the Hospital, if you don't mind.

The Valkyrie
10-22-06, 12:37 PM
That will be fine. I've had Bryn meet your folks and all, and whenever the siege actually starts, I'll probably start the thread in the Outlander's Quarter to get the hospital started, just for a different spin on the whole thing. Nice post by the way.

I've got the Calerian army on the move to Suravani's Oasis, anyone who is interested in meeting up with them in the desert may post here and then in the actual thread, which you can find here. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?p=39341#post39341)

From my understanding there isn't actually any linked information on The Cult itself, though I may be proven wrong when Val sees this and provides you with some. :p

The Cult of Mitra worships Mitra, who is in fact the sun God and brother to Suravani, the Mother Goddess of Fallien. They've been out to destroy Fallien for a long time because Mitra doesn't really like Suravani and doesn't like the Fallien people much either. Val knows more about then than I do, so I'm sure she can give you more information, but basically Cult of Mitra = evils guys bent on destroying Fallien for own gain. ^^

I will eat you :D

Anyways, I just have a question about Irrakam's merchant walkway things. Would the people there be interested in trade through some long distance things to Corone? Of course this is really only to a single shop of course, but a rather rich shop in this case. Mostly my plan was to have Kate buy a sack or two of posions and Healing herbs and bring them back to Corone for re-sale.

Also, how far is it from the Outlander's Quarter's to Irrakam in general?

Witchblade
10-22-06, 09:32 PM
The Outlander's Quarters is in Irrakam, it's a part of it where foreigners have to stay when they don't have their exit pass yet. It's also crime ridden.

If she's just buying some stuff for re-sale in Corone, if you want to do that you can. There's nothing against it, but if you want to set up some kind of trade between the shops there that's a little more complicated.

And by the way, you're already trying to eat me in our battle. I would prefer it if you didn't try to eat Ira as well. :p

About the Cult of Mitra: A lot of it is scattered throughout the timeline... info can also be found in the Ruins (http://althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=900).

Witchy told what was the most important part. The main thing about the cult is they want to return to what Fallien was like Pre-Vadhya (the destruction of Fallien). They've tried many times to overthrow the government, including several assassination attempts on various Jya's. They live mostly in the Ruins in the desert, although many live in Irrakam itself. Most are marked with a tattoo of the sun somehwere on their person as a sign of their loyalty to the sun god.

Nekogirl: it's up to you as far as the purchase and sale of those poisons if you plan to do it through the bazaar system. If you plan on making a quest out of it or doing it in the midst of the siege, then I'm sure there would be merchants quite interested in your business proposition. As far as the Outlander's Quarter goes, it is on the island of Irrakam, a part of the capital city itself, situated on the southern quarter of the island, farthest away from the Keep. The Merchant's Walkway lies along the border of this, and a good portion of it is in the Quarter.

Was there a specific part in mind for people allying with the Cult and the Harpies?

Witchblade
10-22-06, 10:22 PM
There are a number of different things you could do really.

Sneaking into The Keep to try and kill off key people. You could be part of the main Siege itself. You could go to R'uuya and try to gather some allies in the people that work the fields there because there will definitely be some people interested in joining the cult from there, probably the poison harvesters.

We're leaving individual threads for this war kind of open so you can do whatever is within your character. It's always a good idea to post an idea you have here so we can say whether or not it's plausible though.

Ashiakin

Was there a specific part in mind for people allying with the Cult and the Harpies?

I'm also planning on doing this. I don't know if you have something planned by yourself, but if you don't, you can work with me. My story, so far as I know, is going to revolve around Ashiakin working for the government of Salvar to covertly support the Cult (in the interest of bringing about a form of rule seen more conducive to commerce and international trade.) I also kind of want to deal with morality issues, paint the struggle as not quite so Manichean, etc., etc. If you're interested, I'd be willing to work whatever ideas you have into mine.

MadameBlackwater
10-23-06, 12:44 AM
I am also interested in the cult, wanting to try out my ability in a tactical advantage against someone that can sub in for the good guys. i mean i had an idea of using a voodoo doll against the Jya, kinda like a long magic struggle between MB over a long distance.

Witchblade
10-23-06, 07:47 AM
The Jya is an NPC, so if you wanted to do something like that you'd be controlling her yourself, unless of course you're uncomfortable with that.

Ashiakin
10-23-06, 09:58 AM
This may seem picky, but I want to make sure I'm getting it right... is the proper phrasing "Jya" or "the Jya"? I don't know if it's more of a title or that every Jya is considered to an an incarnation of that goddess or whatever.

The Valkyrie
10-23-06, 11:16 AM
Jya is both a title (The Jya) as well as the name that the person who holds that position takes on as her own (Jya). She is considered by her people to be the incarnation of Suravani, and she's pretty damn wise - also prophetic and telepathic. I would REALLY rather not have her killed in this whole shebang, nor do I really want the Cult to win. But yeah Jya or The Jya are both acceptable titles and I often switch between both.

Bearded Gnome
10-23-06, 03:28 PM
Quick question. Would it be okay if my character lead a force of dwarves, around 100-200(willing to slim it down if need be), came to the aid of Irrakam, but somehow got stuck in Outlander's Quarter? Or would I be able to report directly to Jya, seeing as how a large force of battle-hardened dwarves just came to help them?

Edit: Maybe Fallien could be the only trusted place of trade that Kachuk has found so far and simply sent aid to their allies and partners?

The Valkyrie
10-23-06, 05:28 PM
Well it would be fine if you did that, but seeing as EVERYONE is reporting to the Jya, it seems unlikely that in the event that the siege would likely already be taking place by the time the dwarves got there that they'd have access to her. You are of course welcome to devise any other plan of attack, but I don't necessarily see a report to the Jya as likely or really even necessary - although dropping her a note might be nice. :D

Witchblade

If you want to do some kind of battle I can help you out with one of my NPC's Captain Alikam, he's in charge of one of the law enforcement groups stationed through Irrakam. You can have the dwarves meet up with him if you would like. That way you can report to Jya through him, unless you have something else in mind.

Bearded Gnome
10-23-06, 07:35 PM
No, that'd be fine. It could be that the dwarves show up and the attack's under way and they come to whoop some ass! They'd meet up with the Captain at the "frontlines" and try to help in any way shape or form that they could. They could reinforce the Captain's position or try to spearhead a countercharge or something. Just a thought. :D

Iriah Caitrak
10-23-06, 07:43 PM
All right, I'll try to think of some kind of strategy for an attack on the city you could participate in. I'm a little brain dead right now from just being plain old tired and trying to think of something, well, let's just say it isn't working.

MadameBlackwater
10-24-06, 03:46 AM
k, can i get any thoughts on this idea i have,

I was thinking of making a thread about my character, who has the ability to use voodoo dolls. I was thinking that she could be one of the badguys, or more precisely a hired merc that would use her power by way of the mitra getting ahold of some of the Jya's hair or something, and which the thread goes on to attack her at a distance through this power

though as i would expect with someone as wise as teh jya, she would have barriers against killing her so i would factor that in but you know, i could make life a little hard for her, throw in a kink in the siege

so yeah, any ideas on this, weather you think its a good idea or not is up to you.

Storm Veritas

OK, so there is a quite a bit going on here. A little tough to follow at first glance. If Gehrent (sp) is recruiting Storm for the Callerian Army (if I'm following this correctly), Storm wouldn't join in any type of foot-soldier work. More something... you know... freelance.

Valk or Witchy, just let me know where you think I'd fit in best. I don't need a starring role here, but it would be fun to contribute. And I think I could add a nice little element here, as long as we define the job first.

Iriah Caitrak

Madame Backwater

That one...I'm really not too sure about. I don't know the full extent of Jya's magical capabilities and her defences against other kinds of magic. Val can better brief you on an idea such as that.

And now Stormy,

Gereint, won't nevessarily be recruiting you, just asking for your help and that you come to Fallien. Now, I didn't expect to put Storm in with the Calerian and Oasis armies, he wouldn't really fit. However, I was figuring you could join up with Ira in Irrakam itself. How you want to do that is up to you.

If anyone wants an Alchemologist or a group of them in their quest as healers or such, tell me. Eoin himself will be in the Outlanders Quarter taking care of some rouges and sending some innocents to safety. You people can also mention that the Alchemologists have set up several hospitals across the city and they are capable of using their ability to speed up the healing of injury and even completely removing smaller wounds. They cannot bring back the dead, and can only sustain those whom have taken fatal injuries. Fatally injured people won't be able to fight again for some time, even if they get treatment right away. If you lose a leg and bring it to the Alchemologists, they can reattach it and send you back out in a few hours!

Also, anyone can NPC control some random Alchemologists, but if you decide to, ask me first please. There is three main groups of Alchemologists in the city right now; The Healing Adepts that run the hospitols, the Earth Adepts that are setting up defenses and trained in martial arts with their staves, and the Grand Adepts that are pretty much complete masters in all around Alchemology. Most of the Grand Adepts are with Eoin or with the Elders, and are only available if someone is going to have a similar goal as them. The Grand Adepts and Earth Adepts are both going to be defending through attack wards and staff fighting, but only the Grand and Healers can actually heal, for it is a skill that is taught only to special students.

(Edit) Will we be informed when the actual siege starts? Also, when it does, does our own threads have to immediately thereafter switch to whatever must be happening during the siege? I have something planned that Valkyrie gave me an idea for which pretty much must be finished before the siege starts. Being that my thread is running in a rather fast pace and real time, I think in all reality it could be completed in the few hours we supposedly have before the actual attack begins. Do you mind if I have a couple posts extra in my thread that don't actually mention the siege beginning?

(Double-Edit)One more thing, can there be somewhere a ongoing OOC or IC thing telling what all is happening simultaneously in the city. Irrakam is not enormous, so the Calerians, the Dwarves, the Fallien people, and the Alchemologists will eventually see eachother when they all get in place, including whoever else comes. It would make sense if we worth together, maybe using each other's troops and units as NPCs in our own areas, and cooperate this thing so that it relates to what would happen in a real battle as much as possible.

Only an idea.

The Valkyrie
10-24-06, 10:36 AM
Madame Blackwater: Just so long as you make it so that she notices Jya fighting back somehow and don't kill her, I'm fine with however you go about it with those crazy voodoo dolls of hers. :D

Storm: I'm so glad you're joining this buddy! (Not that I'm not glad about everyone else, it's just exciting to see so many people joining). Anyways, we could use you anywhere you're willing to work. If you want to work in the Outlander's Quarters, I plan on having a thread there soon with Natalya and her luxury resort - she's gonna turn it into a hospital and it will likely be attacked at some point. Another idea would be to have a couple of people infiltrate the ranks standing in Nirrakal and get into the caves there to enlist the ranks of the Glasswalkers.

Winter (although this applies to everyone): As far as the siege starting - I don't require anyone to stick closely to the timeline, although it would be easier if everyone kind of tried to keep it fairly close together. Don't start the siege early, although talking about minor attacks or skirmishes won't hurt anything if you do. I don't mind if you start late, because that gives you the opportunity to mention key happenings in other parts of the city. I'll be sure to note here when I actually start the siege, and the circumstances surrounding it in a brief summary. What I recommend is that whenever anyone has a major event happen in their thread that would be known throughout the city they mention it here with a brief summary so that we can know where to direct our attention. Granted I'm trying to read all of the threads, but I'm easily distracted and it would make it easier on everyone if everyone kept us up to date on their important stuff here. Let me know everybody if you object!

Bearded Gnome
10-24-06, 10:39 AM
Well I wouldn't mind lending a few dwarves as NPCs, but realize that dwarves are most effective when fighting alongside one another. So if you get dwarf NPCs, they're most likely only going to be in packs of 3-12. I'm still gonna need the majority if most of 'em are gonna be the frontline defenders.

Oh, and if a couple of Earth adepts, when the dwarves arrive, create a nice and easily defensible position towards the front for the dwarves to work from, I think that would help slightly stem the tide.

Bearded Gnome
10-24-06, 10:44 AM
Excuse the double post.

Another idea would be to have a couple of people infiltrate the ranks standing in Nirrakal and get into the caves there to enlist the ranks of the Glasswalkers.

I could probably get Anenfel in on the infiltration-ness.

And is there a port near the frontlines of the siege? The dwarves are gonna be coming in front from boats and it'd be nice to have a WW2-esque landing of scores of dwarves jumping off the boats and charging head-on with the enemy. Of course, there'd be large battle cries and horns going of simultaneously, so it might be heard all around Irrakam.

The Valkyrie
10-24-06, 11:25 AM
Irrakam is situated on an island in the middle of the River Attireyi which slices FAllien into two halves. There are several ports throughout Irrakam (which for an idea of what Irrakam looks like, take a look at pictures of Greek islands, specifically Santorini) as well as the entirety of the desert on either side which is line on both sides with Cultists as well as the Cultists coming up the river on barges which carry siege weapons.

Let's use Storm as a "wild card", since I am confident I can flex him to fit most any role.

I've seen operating under Geirent for Caleria, and now the suggestion of attacking the hospital at the Operating Quarters. Both sound good.

I could get introduced as a recruit via Geirent and get assigned to assault the hospital. Does that work? I could come in, unleash hell for 5-6 posts, and disappear without fouling up your storylines too much.

Hmm, that might put a wrench in things...

Is there any way the dwarves can come on boat while the siege is underway?

The Valkyrie
10-24-06, 02:37 PM
Storm - Evil or not, the question is whether or not he's on the side of Fallien and the Jya. Evil would just determine his methods of helping whichever side he chooses. The harpies though? They are uncontestably (is that a word) fucked up... Rava Featherblood is psycho, she thinks she is beautiful, and more worthy of the position than Jya, and is full of hatred toward all of Fallien for surviving the Vadhya the way it did. Pick whatever side you want though. Either way will be fun!

Bearded Gnome - I'm sure they could come by boat after the siege has already begun. In fact, you could have fun with this in one of two ways (or any other way you come up with actually). In one way it would be extremely difficult to get through the barges and whatnot to save Irrakam. In the other scenario, because the cultists are distracted, the dwarves could slide in on lots of smaller boats, and fight among the barges themselves, taking care of the siege weapons. Just a couple of ideas.

Slayer of the Rot

I forgot to mention that I basically came back for this.

Anyways, yeah, the harpies are evil, I created them, I should know, haha. In the terms of a man, picture your most psychotic, hateful ex, and multiply that by twenty. For Rava, multiply that by fifty.

For some reason, I wasn't even thinking about seige machines for some reason...when me and the Calerians get there, I'm sure Dan can smash a few of them to make it easier on everyone. Depends on what they're made of.

Bearded Gnome
10-24-06, 03:30 PM
Well, if I do get the dwarves to fight among the barges, I'm gonna have them bring chains with them so after they defeat the people on a certain barge and take care of a siege weapon, they'll start chaining the barges together and set them all on fire. Get a little Chi Bi action going. XD

Thanks. It's just that when I brainstorm like this my mind goes all over the place. So, I'm most likely gonna do the barge thing then get my dwarf and a some others to come with him to meet your Capt. NPC. That way we can have everyone know that doesn't witness the arrival that the Dwarves have come to help!

Oh and another thing I thought of. When the dwarves start their attack and beginning burning stuff up, I'm wanting this all to be visible by the Captain Alikam(sp?) and so you could do a post as him when I give the signal. Or just in OCC message saying you can. ^^

EDIT: Or you could do a post with his reactions to our arrival and then another with the reactions to the burning barges. Any way you want to. ^^

Just to let any defenders know, there will be Earth Adepts positioned along the outside walls. They are, as the name implies, very good at controlling earthly elements. Ice, rock, and fire wards will be in place around the outer wall of the city, reinforcing the walls from siege weapons with rock, preventing burning by covering with ice, and preventing from being scaled by fire. Of course, these are either in layers or seperated. Also, Earth Adepts never use 'fireballs' for weapons, in stead they use their quarterstaves use them as if they were a rifle. At the end of the staff is a rune that summons this white arrow-like missile that flies much like an arrow and is the same equivalent to one.

The Elders will be summoning rock and sending it back at the ships just like a siege weapon. But there is only 4 Elders defending the wall.

(Edit) There are 100 Earth Adepts defending the wall, 25 White Adepts [healers] acting as battle medics for small wounds or teleporting injured to hospitals. 75 more White Adepts in the hospitals, and 50 Grand Adepts dispered inside and outside the city. The Grand Adepts often wield staves that are covered in useful runes, so if someone wants to include a Grand Adept NPC in their thread, just ask me.

Rathmar; I was curious as to whether you would like for one of my Elders to teleport to your flag ship with a small group of Grand Adepts to tell you the exact situation and help out some. Eoin won't be there, but all 14 of my Elders are unique and I can just pick one that has a particular dominion over water.

I would love to get involved in the other threads as well, but Eoin will mostly be in the Outlander Quarter until the siege begins, then he will be at the front lines.

Well I wouldn't mind, but make sure the group doesn't go over 2-5 guys in total. I like the idea of having Alchemelogical (is that even a word? XD) assistance, but I don't want them to steal the show. XD

Winter
10-24-06, 07:59 PM
I won't be show-stealing, just helping. It will take the Elder and the two Adepts their combined efforts to just sink one ship. The Elder will try to sink ships, and the Adepts will protect your flag ship. If you accept, then kindly send me a message when your individual thread is opened.

Alright, well you get what you want to do up and running and I'll jump in when I can.

You can do the little thing with Winter in the beginning of the thread, sinking some of the enemies ships but remember they're probably going to have more than you. Once you've landed, I'll have Alikam meet up with your force and spread out some kind of defence against the Cultists as they land. This will help push back their evasion, of course to make things interesting we'll probably have them eventually push back our lines and enter the city.

I am going to be returning with this character for this FQ. If anybody has a slot open for me that I could jump into as a moderately good guy, please tell me.

If nobody wants me, I suppose I could make my own thread. Looks like we have enough threads up and running already though...

I think I'll help the side of the Harpies - then seeing Ira may change things up a bit. Consider me a free agent, but I'll start with that crazy, ugly hag.

There are plenty of threads you can jump into just by asking. If your character isn't alreadu in Irrakam right now though, I suggest you meet up with the Calerian and Oasis armies in the desert.

Marching to The Beat of The War Drums (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=2952)

That's probably the best idea, try to keep up a steady posting rate though. Right now we're in Suravani's Oasis gathering troops and horses.

If you don't want in on that, there's going to be a thread up in The Outlander's Quarters soon, setting up a hospital in The Rising Pheonix and Winter has a thread going right now I believe you'd be able to jump into. You've got a lot of options. :p

And Stormy, your plan sounds good to me. ^^

My Reaper will be joining in on the Calerian Army, since the irony is too great to handle!

Edit: That is, unless I can convince Cat to come back and play with Rip, then I will be making my own thread. If you don't mind, Valky, I am not going to collaborate with you on what Rip and Styx are going to do, but I can promise you that the Jya nor the Cult leader will die as a result, and we won't hog the action or anything like that. I have read everything you posted and I am positive that my plan fits your possibilities.

Krugor, you'd make a good addition to the thread going up in the Outlander's Quarters with Val's luxury resort The Rising Pheonix. Contact her and see if there's a spot for you.

Alright Styx, you can jump into the thread whenever you feel comfortable doing so. We're just departing from Suravani's Oasis in the next few posts and will be back out and marching through the desert.

OK. So as of right now I'm fighting against the Calerians, with the Harpies, likely going to attack the hospital in the thread with Ira?

If this makes sense, then who should I say brought me in? Is that Gehreint (SP) character the person who would recruit me to fight with the forces of evil here?

You'll have to forgive the absent-mindedness. Too many threads, too much REAL work, too little time.

Witchblade
10-27-06, 05:35 PM
lol, no problem.

Gereint is the Calerian tribal Shaman, considering he'll have talked to you before the attacks even begin because of Jya's premonitions he will not have a lot of information. He will only ask you to come to Fallien at the request of Ira to help in an upcoming war.

You can have Storm being persuaded into the Cult/Harpies army anyway you wish, as in having him get to Fallien, running into them and joining them for some reason.

Val hasn't started the thread in The Outlander's Quarters yet and yes, you can attack there once that gets underway.

Okay the Siege has officially begun (no worries for those of you who posted as though it already had - I love liquid time!). Have fun those of you who were waiting for it! I'll try to post as Slavegirl in the Outlander's Quarters ASAP to set up the hospital at The Phoenix Rising for everyone to join or attack or whatever. No guarantees as to how active I"ll be in that one - it's mostly just to get it going there.

Okay boys and girls wake up and get moving!!!! Irrakam is under siege. Harpies are dropping firebombs on the Outlander's Quarter among other things. I posted here (http://althanas.com/world/showthread.php?p=39908#post39908) in the Outlander's Quarter for those who want to join there. The hotel will be turned into a hospital. Please be creative with your attacks, just make certain that Jya doesn't die (and preferably not Bryn's daughter either :D ). Go forth and wage war!

Witchblade

Alright, it seems like activity for this is starting to dwindle, which we don't really want happening!

Dan, where are you and why haven't you posted in Marching to the Beat of the War Drums yet!? Don[t make me harrass you over AIM again and I don't want to hear any complaints about not having any inspiration. We need to get moving through the desert so we can attack the boats and set up our ambush!

I've asked a few people to join the war through some PM's and I hope this will boost some activity. I'm hoping a few of you people will join up in the hospital thread that you can find a link through Slavegirl's post above. The hospital is going to come under attack, with or without Storm's help. I would also like to set up possible attacking threads in The Merchant's Walkway and something where the boats land.

I've got someone else joining the hospital thread in defence of it and I'll be joining it eventually as well with Ira with a force of guards from The Keep but I'll make my appearance later on. I need to catch up I think I have like five threads that need to be posted in... maybe more. >.>

I am joining the hospital thread, and I guess I am the one Witchblade is reffering to. I kind made my own post to transfer what I was doing in Salvar to Fallien. My character has come in with a large caravan of supplies and a mercenary force of 120 men. Just letting everyone know since I guess this is the OIC inform borad..heh..

Iriah Caitrak
11-03-06, 12:31 PM
Actually, don't join the hospital thread, sorry Lantor. I just realized Vickie has some plans for that one I didn't know about.

You can go to The Merchant's Walkway instead and mount a defence there against the cultists and Harpies, I'm trying to get a few more people in on some kind of defence thing happening there. This will be something you can have some fun with since some of the merchants wouldn't have been able to completely close up and empty their shops before hand so there will be weapons and items inside buildings if you can get inside them.

If you don't mind this, I'm going to move your thread to The Merchant's Walkway with my incredible mod powers and try to get those others in on your thread so you guys can start having some fun! ^^

Rylius
11-07-06, 03:38 PM

And don't worry Rylius, there are plenty of other people tp write with besides Atzar. :p You just need to stop stalking him and find someone else to be the object of your affection. ^_~

Atzar
11-07-06, 09:33 PM
"Object of his affection?"

I'm scared now.

But yeah, he told me you PMed him too, and since ou characters are both from the same place it was just convenient to ship them to the same place as well.

Also, I'm assuming the "Exit Pass" rule of Fallien is in effect? I assumed it was, so I covered that in my post...

Witchblade
11-07-06, 09:36 PM
Yep, you covered all your bases and don't have to worry about being killed by the local guards who think your cultists. :p

Rylius
11-07-06, 10:19 PM
Oh, good. 'Cause I've tried the whole angry mob of guards thing before and it kinda hurts. Though angry harpy mob isn't much better. Also I am not stalking Atzar. No. Bad. Joining the Fallien thing was my idea anyways, he's just more proactive about actually joining. So nyah.

ANYWAYS, to keep this a discussion of the siege, is there an idea of who's coming out on top yet, or has it yet to be determined? From what I've read, it seems at the moment the cult/harpy gang is winning, so... yeah.

Witchblade
11-07-06, 10:27 PM
Well, this is the plan;

As it stands right now, the Cultists and Harpies outnumber the military within Irrakam. But back up from Suravani's Oasis and the Calerian tribe totally around 5,000 warriors is on the way. Up until they arrive, it's going to be a barely scraping by kind of situation. You're going to be fighting the cultists and harpies but for the most part either just pushing them back, or falling back altogether. Once the Oasis and Calerian tribes arrive, their army will enter Irrakam and help push the cultists and harpies back out into the desert where a little surprise is going to be waiting for them.

Once you get to a certain point in your thread - this will be approximately two days of fighting before the Oasis and Calerian tribes arrive - you may NPC that army in your thread and push back the cultist and harpy forces. Then do your conclusion, yay we saved the day kind of thing and request your spoils. There will probably be a big feast/celebration where The Jya will personally hand out your rewards for helping out, that should be the conclusion of most peoples quests.

Atzar
11-14-06, 03:36 PM

I have pm'ed Lantor about the quest reminding him that he needs to post. He has not gotten back to me, however I believe I only sent that our yesterday.

Okay guys, we're slowing down! Get the momentum back up. Just so everyone doesn't have to read everything, let's all give a brief description of what's happening where our character is:

Bryn is at the Keep discussing the battle strategy with Ira while Jya is holed up in her private quarters.

Natalya is downstairs in the lobby of her hotel in the Outlander's Quarter which is having the ever loving shit bombed out of it right now. Still standing though!

Atzar is waiting for Lantor to post again so he can begin kicking harpy/cultist ass.

Atzar screw Lantor--in the nicest way possible--he's had enough time to post in the quest and has not responded to my pm. You may either continue on with that thread or start your own. If you decide to start your own I would appreciate if you stayed along the lines of an attack in The Merchant's Walkway.

Ira is in The Keep discussion battle strategy with Bryn.

Messia and Revor are--as it stands right now--still at night during that quest. They're marching through the desert right now on their way to Irrakam.

Captain Alikam and Sergeant Lyra are commencing defensive manuovers against the incoming ships of the Cultist fleet and as it stands right now, Witchblade is watching.

I've tried pm'ing your account several times but your inbox is always full, which is very annoying. Try cleaning it out every now and then.

Elrundir is currently busy with exams and life, plus his character can't do anything else until the cultists land so it's best to just skip him this time and go ahead with you post.
