06-25-15, 06:44 PM
Name: Cassair MacFionntán
Nickname: Cass, the Blind Mage, Dancer
Age: 17
Race: Human
Hair Color: Silver-white streaked indiscriminately with red
Eye Color: N/A (has a blindfold, once gray)
Height: 5'3''
Weight:110 lbs
Occupation (Optional): Previously the heir of a petty noble title, now a wandering bard
Personality (Optional):
Good Traits: Adaptive, calm, friendly, creative, daring, confident, clever, energetic, freethinking, good-natured, humorous, independent, intelligent, lovable, optimistic, passionate, persuasive, reliable, scholarly, suave, witty, breezy, outspoken

Bad Traits: Sarcastic, abrasive, airy, callous, cynical, blunt, difficult, dishonest, disrespectful, erratic, fickle, excitable, inconsiderate, perverted, opinionated, pretentious, prejudiced, scheming

Appearance: Cassair looks the typical bard (except for the fact that he's blind, of course). He wears a plain linen tunic underneath a leather jacket, with long woolen pants and knee high leather boots. On his head is the standard green cap with a red feather on it, keeping in with his generic look. A belt, with a steel buckle keeps his pants up and equipped on it is a money bag and a small dagger. He keeps a bag strapped on his back, its make clearly beyond the range of any true bard, hinting to his former noble life.

He originally was your typical redhead, and sports light-colored freckles from his cheeks down to his toes. Tied across his eyes is a undyed silken blindfold.

History: Cassair was born to a small noble family who lived in a castle on the fringe of Skavia, mostly isolated except for the small village nearby. Before the wars, the MacFionntáns were once proud and rich, supplying the State during the Church-State civil war, and lost most of their wealth when the King was killed. His father, Niocaill was a schemer, always jealous of the other nobles who came to visit and flaunted their wealth boastfully, and was always trying to think up of various ways to either bring down the other families, or bring up his own, but always failed. His mother, Aislinn turned her gaze to her children, Cassair and his younger brother and sister, Rian and Muirinn. She spent the family's spare wealth on her children's education, even bringing in a magic tutor to train Cassair in the hopes that he would become a famous (and hopefully wealthy) mage.

The years went by and Cassair and his siblings were showing promise in regaining the family fortune by attracting wealthy suitors, but Niocaill was blind to that. He wanted to be powerful and rich now, instead of waiting years for his children to mature. The patriarch of the family began getting involved in dark magic, constantly meeting with mages in the dark of night for some secret purpose.

One day, when he was 15, Cassair was dragged out of bed in the middle of the night down into the depths of his family's castle. His father, Niocaill wanted to summon a demon-like spirit to kill a rival of his, and the ceremony needed the body of the summoner's eldest son as a vessel, conveniently. The spirit was summoned and trapped into Cassair's body, but instead of having Cassair's body submit to the spirit's will, Cassair's soul fought back. That enraged the spirit, making Cassair fly into a rage, killing the mages and Niocaill. Cassair managed to contain the spirit and suppressed it before going unconscious.

When he woke up, he found jagged scars around and through his eyes. He was blind, a result of him fighting the spirit instead of submitting. He was tended to by his servants and mother, but they feared him. He was constantly shunned and soon learned that he was blamed for his father's death. Many nobles jumped at the thought of ridding themselves once and for all of a rival family, pressing that Cassair must be killed. His mother could not follow through, instead choosing to send her blind son away. Cassair left in the guise of a bard, with a gift from his mother, an enchanted staff, in hand, going south in hopes of making his own way.

Skills:

Literate: Being raised a noble, Cassair has a high level of literacy and grammatical correctness, and despite no longer being of a noble family, often slips into a "blueblood" dialect, using correct grammar and phrasing despite seeming a rugged wanderer. While he is not fluent in other languages other than Salvic and Tradespeak, he is ready and able to learn.

Intelligent/Well-Learned: His mother made an effort to tutor their children in anyway possible. Even though it drained from their coffers, the MacFionntán children had multiple tutors for multiple subjects, receiving a noble's training in history, math, literature, dancing, horseback-riding, hunting, etc. He is passable in horseback riding and hunting - learning enough to suit his own needs - but excelled in the former three subjects.

Musicianship: Despite being a noble, Cassair developed a fondness for music, specifically wind instruments, like the flute. He was not formally trained, as his mother restricted music to his sisters, but taught himself how to play, memorizing songs and making up others.

Charisma: Cassair is naturally charismatic and persuasive, choosing rather to ease his way out of confrontations rather than fight.

Magic Training/Knowledge: Like music, he developed a fondness for magic, and was formally taught in the subject. He learned a variety of spells, but focused on the Elemental Magicks, especially Wind, which he grew fond of. He can detect the use of magic in glamours or locks, but is unable to dispel them as he focused more on the combative side of magic.

Hand-to-Hand Combat: Feigning the sword, Cassair turned to fisticuffs as a way to increase his Wind-Dancing skills. He is quite adept at the sport, though it is harder for him now that he is blind.

Stamina/Speed: Cassair trained hard to increase his stamina after discovering how quickly Wind-Dancing drained it, and has a high stamina rate. He is also very fast and agile with his smaller frame.

Abilities:

Wind-Dancing:
A style of Cassair's own making based on Wind Magic, it focuses on using the arms and legs to kick and punch concentrated gusts of wind at the opponent, all while the user moves in what can be described as interpretive dancing. It also involves using streams of air similar to blades for close range attacks.

Close Range: In ranges of about >5 feet, Cassair can manipulate the air in blades, his fingers tight together in a "knife-hand" form, cutting the air around him. These blades have the damage of a tempered iron sword. He can summon this magic only twice a day, as it drains both his stamina and his magical energies.
Defensive: Cassair can throw up a wall of wind as a way of defending himself, but it will only last 15 seconds before disappearing. If he can hear an arrow/bolt coming his way, he can send a gust of wind upwards or sideways to change its course, and can do the same for some magical attacks, fire especially.
Senses: Being blind (and possessed by a demon), Cassair's senses have heightened, especially hearing. Cassair uses a spell enchanted into his staff that sends out a small gust of wind that he uses to pick up the objects around him, This is similar to echolocation, as the wind makes a high-pitched sound that at a frequency that he can hear, but humans and some other races cannot. If it bounces back to him, there is something there.

Weaknesses:

Blindness: Cassair is blind. He can sense the presence of others using his staff, but without it, it is hard for him to detect others in a 5 foot radius.

Limited Use of Wind-Dancing: Wind-Dancing relies on the force of each blow, and while Cassair trains to maintain his stamina, he does tire after a few minutes.

Possession: Cassair is possessed by an angry, demonic spirit. While he does have the willpower to keep it suppress, he does let the spirit come out when he loses control under large emotional stress.

Equipment:

Small iron dagger (made in a similar shape to a stiletto)
A small leather coin purse
The clothes on his back (previously described in Appearance)
A silken blindfold
Well made leather bag (content being):

Small loaves of hardened bread, slivers of dried meat, and a small wheel of cheese
Two hooden cloaks: one is the standard woolen cloak, the other is made from a bear pelt, the hood out of leather.
A flute made from bone and carved with (non-magical) runes
Several small vials of a herbal energy drink for his stamina
Two extra blindfolds, one made of undyed silk, the other made of undyed wool

A gnarled oaken staff enchanted with a spell (previously mentioned)

Familiars (Optional): Cassair possesses a spirit inside him. It's true name is unknown to him, but Cassair calls it "Grumpy Cass".

Hello and welcome to the site! My name is Fred and I will be your freindly RoG moderator for this profile!

To get started, I need to know how many uses each ability has and I need to know how much damage they can do. For example your slicing attack needs to be the equivolent of an iron blade.

Your equipment needs to state what it's made of, such as your dagger needs to be iron. You also have one too many abilities for your level
