The streets of the Bazaar during the days leading up to the Feast of Jomil were always far busier than any other time of the year. Celebrations were barely under way in Raiaera, and preparations began in earnest in Alerar. Even with all of the strife since the Adventurer's Crown and the Pode debacle, the shoppers were extra heavy, which seemed to have an effect on the unusually chipper merchants.

The Feast of Jomil was a celebration of the Thayne of the cycle of life, from birth to death. The traditions started in Raiaera, among the ancient elves, as they celebrated Jomil. The Tsuya Memorial, the culmination of the two-week long celebration period for the Raiaerans, required small trinkets of little to no value placed on the grave or at the base of the memorial stone of lost loved ones. Unfortunately, all of their trinkets required purchasing, and so it came to be merchants across Althanas, but mostly among those in the Bazaar, learned to love the Feast of Jomil.

While the Raiaerans celebrated Jomil most specifically, other countries and regions adopted the celebrations into their own cultures for one reason or another. Alerar, for instance, took to celebrating the loved ones lost to the next world, instead of Jomil, choosing to more specifically take part in the Tsuya Memorial traditions of the ancestors. Even Fallien held celebrations across their lands, in honor of the healthy births of their young with tributes with offerings to Suravani and Jya. Across all of Althanas, the Feast of Jomil was the one holiday everyone could agree to respect and celebrate in some way, shape or form.

Logan found moving about the Bazaar roads a bit harder than usual with so many people packed into tight, confined spaces. His eyes danced about in search of a particular merchant; one who specialized in a specific type of gear for specific types of occasions. Behind him, a shopper shoved into him heavily, and the psion could only roll his eyes and grumble. What was meant to be a great time of celebration seemed to quickly find a way to be tainted by the vast concept of consumerism among Althanians.

The psion let out a deep, unsatisfied sigh and turned to leave.

I'm better off picking these items up in a few weeks when the sheep have been shepherded away.

Before he could make it to the end of the street, however, he heard a small voice call out to him.

As always, I want to RP out the entire sequence as a full thread with an opportunity for a no judgement, should the bazaar mod be up for it. I will take any Bazaar Mod willing, but we will need to speak so we can discuss the details and purpose for Logan's shopping adventure.

“Logan!”

Hawl’s voice was small in the crowd at first. She huffed, standing straight in the constantly moving crowd. She was like a stubbern stone in a river, the flower rolling around her. The psion probably didn’t hear the small girl, her voice lost in the hustle and bustle of people spilling gold like her aunt’s wine at the end of the night. The girl loved days like today, where her habit of watching people was properly rewarded with an almost unbelievable variety of subjects.

“LOGAN!”

This turned heads, the girl’s lung powerful for her age! She scampered forward, dodging between the legs and hips of the patrons of the bazaar. Several of the men and women making little surprised noises or tuts of disapproval as she pushed her way past. She saw that the psion had heard her voice and stopped, looking around with his cold eyes. She grinned triumphantly, darting around him in the undergrowth of people.

“LOOOOGAN!” She was so much closer now, and the man turned, zeroing in on her location with unerring accuracy! She stood with wide legs, smug and proud she had hunted the man down. Her expression was of frustration though. She had met Logan several times already, but he barley even knew her! He was always hanging around Uncle John or the tall Vincent guy or just distracted from far more interesting subjects!

“Finally you see me!” She adopts a wide legged space, trying to look down on him from her short stature. Her eyes came to about his belly, and her frown deepened. “Wait here!”

She scampered off after a moment, thankful she wore practical slacks and shirt, with only the long cloak waving behind her as she went to the side. Her hands tested several barrels, then let her carry an empty one back to Logan. He had taken several steps, clearly pushed forward by the flow of the crowd and not trying to avoid her.

She planted it down in from of him, then climbed on top with an “oof!” She wavered for a moment, then stood on top. She slowly slid her legs along the top of the barrel, adopting a wide legged stance on top of the barrel. She crossed her arms, now able to (barely) physically look down upon the psion from a position of power!

“You’ve been ignoring me nearly all day!” She huffed, looking away. The effect must be devastating! “But now you can’t!”

He tried not to laugh, opting to adopt a gentle smile of joy at the arrival and presence of Hawl. The hustle and bustle of the throngs of shoppers heaved him in directions he hadn't anticipated, but somehow he still managed to end up immediately in front of her, well, her atop a barrel. Logan looked her square in the eyes with a grin.

"You're Hawl, aren't you," he asked genuinely curious. He knew who she was by sight. She hung regularly hung around the Tarot members he counted as good friends, John most specifically. What struck him as odd was in all of the times they'd crossed paths, the two had never really introduced or been introduced to one another. After a few lingering moments of silence he collected his thoughts and returned to the miniscule girl before him as he extended his hand to her.

"I don't think we've formally met yet. I am Logan McCloud, and I believe we have mutual friends if I am not mistaken."

"I am Hawl!" The small girl did her best to look serious and important like her aunt did when she visited business partners, looking down at the much taller man. She managed to fill most of the air around her, as if her personality had a physical form to it. People separated around both her and logan, parting the flow of the crowd like a rock in a stream. She pointed! at him, nodding and quickly turning it into a thumbs up.

She shook the psion's hand, feeling excited and adult for being in control of the situation! She nodded, shaking his much larger hand several times forcefully. He probably could have broken her hand by squeezing a bit too hard.

"ThenI should introduce myself formally as well, Hawl Sorie!" She let her face break, unable to keep up the smug little act. She looked her age, laughing at her own audacity and daring. "Now that you can't keep ignoring me like you have, you hafta pay more attention to me! What're you doing here?"

Two months old, so I'm chucking this in the archive.
