Personality:
She is flighty. She is mercurial. Her laughter is silver bells on gentle winds. Her smile is the newborn moon in the cusp of dusk. Sometimes she speaks nonsense, but her nonsense rings with a hint of truth. Sometimes she speaks with a clarity that pierces through a man. She changes her name as easily as she throws on a cloak, and can go by several in the course of a day. She is aware of the world, but has always held herself a little apart from it. There is a viciously manipulative streak in her, but it stays hidden beneath a light hearted grin.

History:
Arinden knows little of her birth, nor does she remember to whom she was born. In her vague memories of the past, she might have had brothers and sisters once. She might have had a home and a people once. There might have been a village once, where she had been happy. Yet, these things are no longer important, for she is alone now.

Her earliest memories were that of Salvar, of bloodshed and war, from which she had fled alone. She has gifts that are not welcomed by the Church. Since then, she has worked as a musician, a (terrible) cook, a brewer, a tavern wench, a tailor, and most recently, a mystic. She has tried her hand at being a thief and a cheat, and almost a whore. She has slept in the woods, atop roofs, in many barns, on the road, and in strangers’ beds. She wanders towards whatever and wherever that will have her, and her footsteps have yet to still.

Appearance:
She is a waif of a woman, small and slight but with wry strength. Her hair is white. Her eyes are blue. Most days, she is half-buried in long cloaks and thick swathes of cloth.

Skills:
Sculptor -- With a sculpting knife, she can create beautiful works of art.
Brewer -- She can make a mean beer just from the new wheat and frozen wild berries. She does wine, too.
Tailor -- She cuts her own furs, and makes her own dresses.
Master Musician -- Aorothy has a voice of gold, and she sings beautifully. Also, her fingers are nimble, and she can play the harp and the lute.
Scavenger -- She has a deft hand at scavenging long-dead corpses, and the scant foliage that grows in ice.
Huntress -- She is a skilled hunter of the wild beasts when she has a crossbow in hand. She also knows how to skin a beast and let out its blood.
Intermediate Swordswoman -- A musician’s hands shouldn’t hold the blade, but hers are full of rough callouses.
Truth-speaker -- A talent she was born with. When asked a question by another, she at times catches a glimpse of the future. When she does, a greater power compels her to speak it.

Abilities:

Reality Warping -- Reality at times behaves a little strangely when Aorothy is around. At her current raw and untrained level, she is capable of:

Minor Terrain Manipulation: She can soften a stretch of hard earth into mud with a bit of thought. Those standing on the patch of ground may be momentarily startled and slowed. [3 meter effect radius, reduce opponents' speed to 0.5x of original, 3 times per thread, effects per use last for one post]
Minor Atmospheric Manipulation: When she’s moody, she is capable of generating a thunderstorm where she stands. [10 meter effect radius, reduces opponents' vision by to 0.7x of original; 1 time per thread, effects last for one in-character hour]
Minor Life-Breathing: She can speak keywords to certain inanimate things, and breathe life unto them to do as she has instructed. [1 activation per thread, animation lasts for the length or the thread or until release]
Level One: Ribbons or stretches of cloth are all that she’s capable of now, and she enjoys having them act as extensions of her arms. The keyword is “Be as my arms.” [Animates up to two, one-meter long stretches of fabrics. Fabrics are strengthened to resist cutting by materials up to iron, and are capable of handling items up to 0.5x Arindel's weight. Animated items are restricted to stay within a 2 meter radius of Arindel. Actions taken by the items are controlled by Arindel's active thoughts, and actions may occur at 0.75x of Arindel's normal speed.]

Hello and welcome to the site! A few questions to help me along with your approval process. Does the mud you turn earth into impair movement? What does the thunderstorm you generate do (how does it effect others).

How quick and fast can you control the cloth as well? Is it the same speed as with your arms? How strong are these cloth arms in terms of resisting slicing and such?
