Disgaea 5

Anyone play this game? Any thoughts? I used to be a big Disgaea fan for the first one. After that, things got too weird, but the main characters in this one look pretty sweet. Plus, it looks like they build off the netherword system which I was a huge fan of in Makai Kingdom.

Any thoughts?

I really liked 3 and I've been thinking about picking this one up but honestly I'm just going to hold out for Fallout 4 instead. :D

I'm actually a HUGE Disgaea fan, doods.

I have the whole set up to part 4 atm and I intend to get a PS4 just for the fifth game.

And yeah to my knowledge the 5th game is IMMENSE and boasts over 15+chapters or something of that nature in the base story mode. Plus the game developers (Don't worry I won't post spoilers) have said that this will be the DARKEST Disgaea game. Me personally, i make it a point to get these games in every incarnation cause I love the series and have been faithfully playing since the first iteration of the game came out. Anyway guys, I recommend 5 from what I've seen it and the new additions being added to the core mechanics. I have a good friend who just got the game for his birthday and he loves it.

So once I get my own PS4 and pick up the game I'll be able to give you guys my own verdict on the newer installment then.

So I got to a clip in like the first chapter with one of the main characters. I think I'm going to love this game. It's also the first Disgaea where the main characters aren't derpy children. I'm all for a darker storyline. For demons, I imagined them to be a little more serious. I met Red Magnus, and I can tell they want to keep that same derpy humor in the game, but the male protagonist is so damn serious.

I'm excited to learn what will most undoubtedly be a tragic backstory revealed just before some epic battle.

Plus, now I want armored, clawed gauntlets for Lye.

Wait, what? 92 hours and I have to restart? I'm not cool with that... Unless it's via rebirth? In that case, power leveling back to a higher level isn't too terribad.

Man, I wish they would just make a Makai Kingdom II. That game was phenomenal. It was 3d movement instead of grid based. The item transmutation system into characters was also brilliant. And the vehicles. It was just a great game.
