ITT: Ray Tells You Who You Are (Sort Of)

While trapped in a car for a very long time this weekend, I realized that I have subconsciously associated various members of Althanas (and their characters) with other fictional entities. When I talk to these individuals, or read their works, I find myself imagining their fictional counterparts.

Just for fun, I am willing to share with you who your fictional doppelgänger is. Or, if you'd rather, I can share who your character reminds me of. Or both (if you're greedy). I'll even tell you why, because I really do have a method to my madness. Honest.

You get Bess Marvin. She's a very social, very bubbly person. She can be flirtatious at times, and she finds herself easily becoming the center of attention. But she has a good head on her shoulders (even if she can get a little overexcited), and she does genuinely care about people.

If it means anything, I think that I am also Bess Marvin. :P

You get Dimitri from Anastasia! He's a super sly, super charming dude. Even though he can be a bit intimidating at first, he is actually a really sweet guy with a good heart. He has a certain pizzaz that makes him a fan favorite. I was definitely a fan. I had a crush on him when I was 9. But that's irrelevant.

I'll confess, I don't know Lye very well! Do you mind if I do Alyssa instead?

When I read about Alyssa, I think of Hermione Granger. I know it's weird, but I'm weird, and I also really like Alyssa. Basically, I see Alyssa as a strong, independent black woman who don't need no man. She's dedicated, she's capable, but love and relationships can really complicate things for her (Tobias Stalt = Ron Weasley, awww). Also, guns. I forgot to add that. So basically, Alyssa is Hermione with a gun.

You remind me of Delia Banks from the TV show Ghost Whisperer. Delia has a very tough exterior, but when you get her to open up, she proves herself as both very intelligent and very caring. She never hesitates to correct you if you're wrong, but she never does it to be rude; she genuinely wants to help you grow. It took me a while to warm up to Delia when she came on the show, because I couldn't really read her. But now, I both like and respect her unique personality.

For Alydia, I say Loor from the Pendragon Adventure series (on the right). Loor was not a "people person," and she was content to look out for herself. The last thing that she planned to do was be a mentor to Bobby, but unique circumstances brought them together. She began to find things about him that she was drawn to, and even thought she had made it clear that they weren't friends in the beginning, they were by the end of the book. She became very protective over him, the way Alydia did for Ray in the Red Forest.

You're Lucas Randall from the show Strange Days at Blake Holsey High. Lucas is the best. Seriously. He's great. He's brilliant, but he's a little awkward sometimes. He can pull back and get a little shy when he feels overwhelmed. He also has a tendency to go off on a nerdy rant or two. But he has the biggest heart. He's always willing to help out someone in need, even when it is the mean, nasty boyfriend of the girl he loves. Ugh, he's so wonderful.

For Dirks, I did The Law from Video Game High School. Because I haven't actually read anything with Dirks in it, and this is how I imagined him in my vignette.

You remind me of Deanna Troi, from Star Trek: The Next Generation. You've been around forever, and everyone knows your name. You're not afraid to voice your opinion, even if it isn't necessarily the popular one. And, like Deanna, I think you're very driven by emotion. Don't mistake that for an insult - I think that that is one of Deanna's best traits.

For Phi, the character, I chose Black Widow. She's a badass. You've made it very clear that she doesn't need anyone - she can stand on her own perfectly fine. She looks good, and she knows it, which means she can use it to her advantage.

For both you and your character, I've chosen Kōsei Arima, from the anime Your Lie in April. Kōsei is a good kid. He's been through a lot, and sometimes, he feels a bit lost. He feels everything so deeply, and grows attached to people and places. He has moments of assuredness, especially when it deals with something he is good at, but he still appreciates and occasionally looks for positive reinforcement. Kōsei finds confidence and comfort when he surrounds himself with people who bring out the best in him.
