Name: Firelis Tvy’ern
Nickname: Fii, Sceadwe
Age: 18
Race: Human
Height: 5’10
Weight: 68 kg
Occupation: Pickpocket, Drifter, Hand-for-hire
Personality:

Firelis Tvy’ern was born a merry, mischievous, mercurial little blight. There was a sense of quickness to him, quick of temper and quick to strike, quick to understand and quick of mind, and also quick to apologize with a quick tongue. He was an unkempt, wild youth who was growing into a roguish, wild young man.

The adventures of the past year had tempered and sharpened him both. He had found that he liked companionship and loathed to leave friends behind, but he would consider abandoning friend and innocents both to the guillotine if it meant his own life. He had little qualms with cheating in a game of cards or lying or stabbing an enemy in the back. Yet, he had some misgivings if the one sitting opposite him was a woman.

History:

Firelis Tvy’ern was born to a tribe of nomadic wanderers, a group of mostly warriors and huntsmen and sellswords and whores, with a few slaves for good measure. He was the first son of the leader of the group, borne to a good woman who was, strangely, neither slave nor whore, but a fierce warrioress in her own right.

Fii was brought up in an environment both hard and crass. His family were forever on the move, forging an existence however they could, usually through hardwon coppers snatched in battles, and when times were truly hard, through crime and thievery. As a child, he learnt to pick pockets and be fleet of foot, and to cry mercy in the rare cases he was caught.

He was sixteen and a half when his mother split from the group, disappearing one night without warning. There was a message on a scrap parchment, a mild farewell addressed to Fii only, and nothing else. His family, strangely enough, were content to let his mother go. Fii, however, was not. Days later, his own travel pack was slung over his shoulders, and off and away he was headed, alone.

He did not stay alone for long, and picked up a companion sometime between the first and sixth month after leaving home. He had adventures. He saw magic. Then he wandered into the land of the fae and came out alive, but wilder and stranger and older for the experience. He lost his companion in that land, and there might have been curses and memories he had no right to involved. Fii was still trying to understand exactly what he had lost and gained in that place.

Appearance:

He was a hungry, young, wary thing, with too much length and too little bulk. He carried himself with the awkwardness of youth still trying to settle into his own skin, with a half-hunch and an air of blasé nonchalance. He had a short crop of coppery hair that went everywhere, and sharp green eyes occasionally full of pride and mischief, but just as occasionally full of storm and strife.

Skills:

Pickpocket -- Fii’s a damned good pickpocket. Especially in a crowd.

Lockpicking -- Part of the a thief’s skill book. Pretty standard.

Misdirection -- A street performer’s skill that comes in handy when Fii needs to filch additional pocket change. Focus your audience’s attention elsewhere, so that your own sleight-of-hand tricks can be completed without notice.

Aggressive Negotiations -- Or a more diplomatic term for beating the shit out of that other motherfucking asshole. Preferably with his fists.

Advanced Dagger Wielding (Dual-Wielding) -- He’s rather nifty with a pair of daggers. It got him out of many a tight situations.

Survival Cookery -- He knows enough of what’s edible and what’s not out in the wilderness, and he knows how not to burn things into crisps over a fire.

Intermediate Tracking -- He can track and follow a trail two to three days old in the wilderness.

Basic First Aid -- He has learned how to clean a wound, stench the blood, and bind it with bandages properly. However, removing arrows and setting bones are a little out of his scope of experience.

Prescience -- Through the magics that had been inflicted upon him during his adventures, Fii has gained a strange sort of prescience, which takes the form of ominous feelings, vivid dreams, or sudden flashes of potential futures. The prescience is not always accurate, but sometimes warns him of the dangers ahead.

Abilities:

Shadow Walking -- Fii has an instinctive, innate affinity with the dark. Under the covers of shadows, he can subdue his own presence with enough focus and a little misdirection, and seemingly become invisible for up to twenty-five seconds if he doesn’t move. In addition, he can move for up to ten seconds before being noticed or heard.

Darkvision -- Lately, it seems like the darkness has been favoring him more than ever. Fii has found that he can see in pitch-black areas where there are no light sources at all. The extent of his vision is similar to what it would be during the day. However, he has trouble differentiating between most colors in the darkness, as they seem indistinct. He has recently been told that when he is highly emotionally charged, his eyes may gleam in the dark like a cat’s.

Shadow Formation -- Covers the area where he is standing with shadows and darkness, regardless of light sources. The skill has a 10 meter effect radius, which does not shift if Fii moves. [Reduces surrounding beings' vision to 0.7x of original. Usable 3 time per thread, with a two-post cooldown between each use. Effects last for three in-character minutes.]

Above-Average Movement Speed -- He runs a faster than your average human [2.5x speed].

Above-Average Reaction Speed -- Fii has seen a fair bit of combat since leaving home, and that experience has made him limber. His spatial awareness and reaction speed is now a better than your average human [2.5x reaction speed]. This means that unless otherwise cornered, he can escape most average-speed close range attacks and some average-speed mid-range attacks.

Imperfect Resurrection -- This is an ability borne out of a curse. His soul has been forcefully tied to his mortal shell, and will always come back. He can be killed, and that comes with the full experience of death. However, he will find himself conscious again within ten minutes, as his head and torso remains. All physical injuries sustained during the experience (cause of death, and any damages sustained post-death but pre-resurrection) will remain. Most damages will not be fatal a second time immediately after Fii resurrects, and will heal with time. However, regeneration is not possible. (i.e., Lost limbs will still be lost; poison may remain in his system, but will not act up unless otherwise provoked; a hole through a lung will not kill him immediately a second time when he resurrects, but he'll still have a hole through the lung, which will close in a month). If he were caught in situations that causes certain forms of death (i.e., drowning, asphyxiation), he has to be removed from these situations before resurrecting.

You're approved. Just remember that even if your ability says you are invisible, some character may still detect you. This might be through their own abilities, or otherwise.
