Crow
11-23-15, 06:13 PM
Name: Hellebore Siofra (born Silvedin)
Nickname (s): The Three-Eyed Crow, Woman with the Black Cowl
Age: 27
Race: Human?
Height: 5’8
Weight: 120 lbs
Occupation: Trouper. Scholar. Witch.
Personality:
She was cold. She was blunt. She judged all who she came across harshly, and judged herself harsher still. She was carved from a caustic core with iron-bound control, and she tolerated most creatures and truly liked few. She enjoyed a good tragedy, for she had seen too many men laughing at the misfortunes of others. At times, she thought of herself as an instrument of justice, returning disfavors to those who had sinned.

History:
Twenty-seven years ago, a minor house of nobility in Scara Brae welcomed into the world a strange child who would not cry. They named her Hellebore. Hellebore Silvedin.

The child was the first of three sisters, and by the order of her birth she was destined to inherit the family name and all that it entailed. In her youth, she was besieged by the ambitions of her family, for her father had wanted to rise above the position of a lowly Count, and the man saw his daughters as avenues to do so. In her first two decades of life, Hellebore had half a dozen tutors at any time, learned the vicious faces of men, and was embroiled in intrigues beyond her control.

At seventeen, she abandoned her family and name. A travelling troupe took her in and taught her to act, and from there on Hellebore sought to forge her own way. Ten years went by, and in those ten years Hellebore wakened her third eye, a physical eye that manifested upon her forehead when she reached a certain state of mind. The existence of a third eye hinted that at a stranger, non-human heritage. Since then, Hellebore had delved deep into sorcerous arts, seeking to understand the root of this manifestation.

Appearance:
She was a woman at her prime, old enough to have shed the innocence of youth, but still with a long life ahead of her. She stood with her back ramrod straight, and when she walked she led with her chin. She preferred black, and typically shrouded herself in cowl and cloak. She found it dramatic. Others would agree.

Skills:
Scholar -- Hellebore had spent the last ten years of her life studying any sorcerous books that she could find
Actress -- She was a skilled actress, who specialized in queenly or witchly parts
Mistress of Disguise -- A part of her actress training; she could transform herself into someone unrecognizable with the right dress and a bit of makeup
Curse Imbue -- She could imbue stones or gems with lesser forms of her abilities. These gems could be sold as charms or amulets to the general populace.
Advanced Blunt-Weapon Combat -- She could put in a decent swing with a staff or a rod.

Abilities:

Third Eye -- Hellebore’s third eye opens when she enters a concentrated state of mind. The sight of this eye can be disconcerting to those around her.

Able to remain open for the span of a battle, or three hours per day in a quest.
Decreases an opponent's defense towards psychic abilities by 10% if they look directly into the eye. No impact if they avoid the eye. Debuff lasts for two post rounds. Three times per thread.

True Sight -- Her third eye grants her the ability to see things that she normally would not be able to.

Usable under the condition that her third eye is open.
Hellebore gains full spatial awareness of everything within a 10 meter radius of herself. Effects last for one in-character hour. May be negated by those with a higher level of specialized hiding abilities.
In quests, this ability allows her to identify those who are disguised or hidden, or recognize magic and enchantments.

Curse of Terror -- Terrorizes an opponent with waking dreams and visions of their most horrid memories and deepest fears.

Usable under the condition that her third eye is open.
Hellebore does not choose or directly impact what her opponents’ see. Effects last for one post. Usable one time per opponent per thread. May be less than effective on the happy and the fearless, or those with strong mental defenses. May be super effective on those with truly terrible pasts. In cases of violent memories, Hellebore’s opponents may be driven to injure themselves (or her, if she is foolish enough to be standing her opponent's range).
A lesser form of this ability can be imbued into a gem/amulet with Hellebore’s curse imbuing skill. When worn, the gem/amulet may induce bad dreams in its wearer.

Cursed Jewelry:

Ring of Control -- [Cannot be sold] At one point in Hellebore's foolish youth, she had created a ring that granted its bearer certain controls over her. She wasn't sure how exactly she had created it, or how to destroy it safely. To this day, Hellebore guarded the ring as dearly as she guarded her own life.

Equipment/Weapons:
Oak staff [x1]
A horse [x1]
Travel chest - clothing [x1]
Travel chest - perfumes and makeup [x1]
Travel chest - books and paper [x1]
Travel chest - baubles and jewelry [x1]

Cool character. It probably goes without saying, but if you make charms, jewelry, etc with the abilities of your character they will need to be requested via thread rewards.

Otherwise, approved!
