[Solo unless people take an interest, I will consider having others join!!! Progression Thread.]
The building sat in the outskirts of one of Radasanth's many districts.
It was somewhat out of the way.
The structure itself was an old and ugly building. It was built during a previous time of Radasanth's history and was roughly a couple of hundred years old. Prior to its current ownership, the building had become a dilapidated and run down mess. After the deed's hands did switch up to it's current owner, the restoration period began. Long after the Corone Civil War, the engineer corps of Radasanth itself stayed together. The various siege engines and weapons of mass destruction came from that building and it's highly skilled Engineers. The building's current ownership repaired it with state-of-the art capacity imported directly from Alerar through underground means.
The current owners was a family by the name of the Fargon Estate. They were a group of noble folks that lived in Radasanth for several generations. They made an extreme amount of gold, and amassed a vast fortune during the Civil War in Corone. These were the war profiteers, the greedy moguls that profited off destruction and carnage. Each major breakthrough that came out of the Civil War was connected to that warehouse in some way. Some of the most top-secret weapons built in the Civil War's progression were constructed in that warehouse. Corone's most highly skilled Engineers worked at Fargon's. And some of the projects were so top secret...
There was one Engineer on the team of builders that was skilled beyond the natural talent of native Althanians.
He was currently one of the ranking Engineers in Fargon's elite team. In fact, the fellow was so skilled he barely ever left the warehouse and was in constant demand. The fellow's name was Sabatykos Maelstrom. He'd rapidly become one of the finest Engineers that Corone had to offer. No. Maybe the world of Althanas itself. The blood of a star bound people coursed through the young man's body. He worked harder and longer than any other Engineer on Fargon's team. Furthermore, he had vision. Blessed with the gifts of his people, Sabatykos almost had a supernatural skill level to plan things out and make them work. It was a privilege to watch the man work.
Currently, Master Fargon was working on a joint project with Radasanth's government as it existed in those days.
The desire to create super weapons had become a top priority for Radasanth itself.
Only the best Engineers on the fucking planet had the right to learn what Radasanth was currently up to. And Sabatykos was one of those Engineers, he had earned that right. Through blood sweat and tears, he guided his team of laborers through the arduous tasks of making each new break through possible.
It all happened in that one building.
The building's projects were sometimes so top secret that only key individuals of Radasanth's government even knew about them.
Inside the warehouse, in its lowest and most top secret levels, Sabatykos currently lead his team. A research project was underway that was unlike any other before hand.
Sabatykos oversaw a team of about twenty skilled Engineers. The man wore a white lab coat when doing deep research in that section of the building. What they currently had on their hands could change everything for all of Althanas. The chamber was constructed to Sabatykos's exact specifications and there was no other machine like it anywhere on Althanas. The perfect machine was a combination of advanced Althanian sorcery, The basic core technically was Saenorakym Prime in nature. And the two facets of science meshed well together. The machine itself was built to contain the advanced power...of a Lesser Thayne. Several years prior, the entity simply calling itself "Cool" surrendered itself to the government of Radasanth to assist in the victory of The Civil War. Cool revealed much about the nature of Althanas, and the universe at large to the Engineers at Fargon's warehouse. The entity was largely treated as a test subject.
Cool sat on a throne engineered specifically for him.
He was classified as a Lesser Thayne in the pantheon of the Thaynehood.
Sabatykos oft spoke to Cool about various matters that fascinated the young Engineer.
In kind, the Thayne spoke to Sabatykos about the nature of his star bound people with a growing degree of mutual interest.
Sabatykos was currently standing in front Cool, speaking to him. It was well into the hours of the night. The Engineer rarely got tired and found himself working around the clock on learning everything he could about the test subject.
Cool was a male entity, or at least manifested as one. He wore elegant robes and was bald. His body had intricate markings in the language and symbols of the native Thayne. Cool had eyes that glowed with a powerful energy. He spoke in a deeply accented voice, but it was surprisingly kind. Sabatykos was rapidly becoming more and more fascinated by the Thayne before them all. The chance to speak to a deity...
Sabatykos spoke first. "The throne...we made it to the exact specifications. I trust you are comfortable tonight?"
Cool looked up at Sabatykos, he'd been deep in thought for some time prior to that. "Ah. Young Sabatykos. Why must you always ask me that question? It's been what, a decade since that awful war ended?" Cool continued. "I am quite comfortable here. Your team has treated me with adequate respect."
Sabatykos's eyes narrowed. Had it really been ten years? He looked at Cool for a long moment. "I am genuinely concerned for your comfort and well being. If there is anything I can get you, let me know." Sabatykos said.
"You've already done enough. You managed to construct the Well Font to exact specs." Cool continued. "I merely get lonely down here and do appreciate your constant company."
Sabatykos responded. "You are too kind. I merely did what was required at the time. I am glad that it is adequate enough to suit your needs." Sabatykos continued. "It has been roughly twenty years now to the day you joined us. Ten years since the end of The Civil War, and the completion of the Well Font." Sabatykos felt a very real sense of pride of in his chest. "You have taught us much in that time." Sabatykos stated truthfully.
"We have learned a lot from each other." Cool admitted. "But my fascination is not with this building, or even the Well Font itself. My fascination lies with you and what you will be able to achieve, young one."
Sabatykos listened intently. The two had a strange rapport of sorts, that had become a student/teacher style relationship. Sabaytkos oft listened to the words of Master Cool. "Something is on your mind, my Master?" Sabatykos said. The two had learned a great deal of one another.
"Yes. That is always true, but tonight is different. My personal intuition has always been one of my many talents, and I have a strong feeling something will happen to you tonight. In the next few hours I might add." Cool said.
"What sort of something, and how may we prepare?" Sabatykos had to ask.
Sabatykos always did consider Master Cool a friend and ally and put the entity's needs far above his own.
"It is already happening. My vision reveals that somewhere, above us, your Lord Fargon has betrayed the very nature of this building. He has betrayed Radasanth itself and now he is coming to destroy this place and bury it's secrets."
Sabatykos frowned upon hearing those words...in all of his days working at the Fargon Estate, he never once considered a betrayal. "How can this be?" Sabatykos asked, suddenly quite alarmed. The young Engineer looked at Master Cool for guidance.
"Young Sabatykos. Do you trust me?" Cool suddenly asked.
He did not even hesitate in his response. "Master Cool...with my very life."
"This is what you must do." Cool began the explanation.
