[Solo unless people take an interest, I will consider having others join!!! Progression Thread.]

The building sat in the outskirts of one of Radasanth's many districts.

It was somewhat out of the way.

The structure itself was an old and ugly building. It was built during a previous time of Radasanth's history and was roughly a couple of hundred years old. Prior to its current ownership, the building had become a dilapidated and run down mess. After the deed's hands did switch up to it's current owner, the restoration period began. Long after the Corone Civil War, the engineer corps of Radasanth itself stayed together. The various siege engines and weapons of mass destruction came from that building and it's highly skilled Engineers. The building's current ownership repaired it with state-of-the art capacity imported directly from Alerar through underground means.

The current owners was a family by the name of the Fargon Estate. They were a group of noble folks that lived in Radasanth for several generations. They made an extreme amount of gold, and amassed a vast fortune during the Civil War in Corone. These were the war profiteers, the greedy moguls that profited off destruction and carnage. Each major breakthrough that came out of the Civil War was connected to that warehouse in some way. Some of the most top-secret weapons built in the Civil War's progression were constructed in that warehouse. Corone's most highly skilled Engineers worked at Fargon's. And some of the projects were so top secret...

There was one Engineer on the team of builders that was skilled beyond the natural talent of native Althanians.

He was currently one of the ranking Engineers in Fargon's elite team. In fact, the fellow was so skilled he barely ever left the warehouse and was in constant demand. The fellow's name was Sabatykos Maelstrom. He'd rapidly become one of the finest Engineers that Corone had to offer. No. Maybe the world of Althanas itself. The blood of a star bound people coursed through the young man's body. He worked harder and longer than any other Engineer on Fargon's team. Furthermore, he had vision. Blessed with the gifts of his people, Sabatykos almost had a supernatural skill level to plan things out and make them work. It was a privilege to watch the man work.

Currently, Master Fargon was working on a joint project with Radasanth's government as it existed in those days.

The desire to create super weapons had become a top priority for Radasanth itself.

Only the best Engineers on the fucking planet had the right to learn what Radasanth was currently up to. And Sabatykos was one of those Engineers, he had earned that right. Through blood sweat and tears, he guided his team of laborers through the arduous tasks of making each new break through possible.

It all happened in that one building.

The building's projects were sometimes so top secret that only key individuals of Radasanth's government even knew about them.

Inside the warehouse, in its lowest and most top secret levels, Sabatykos currently lead his team. A research project was underway that was unlike any other before hand.

Sabatykos oversaw a team of about twenty skilled Engineers. The man wore a white lab coat when doing deep research in that section of the building. What they currently had on their hands could change everything for all of Althanas. The chamber was constructed to Sabatykos's exact specifications and there was no other machine like it anywhere on Althanas. The perfect machine was a combination of advanced Althanian sorcery, The basic core technically was Saenorakym Prime in nature. And the two facets of science meshed well together. The machine itself was built to contain the advanced power...of a Lesser Thayne. Several years prior, the entity simply calling itself "Cool" surrendered itself to the government of Radasanth to assist in the victory of The Civil War. Cool revealed much about the nature of Althanas, and the universe at large to the Engineers at Fargon's warehouse. The entity was largely treated as a test subject.

Cool sat on a throne engineered specifically for him.

He was classified as a Lesser Thayne in the pantheon of the Thaynehood.

Sabatykos oft spoke to Cool about various matters that fascinated the young Engineer.

In kind, the Thayne spoke to Sabatykos about the nature of his star bound people with a growing degree of mutual interest.

Sabatykos was currently standing in front Cool, speaking to him. It was well into the hours of the night. The Engineer rarely got tired and found himself working around the clock on learning everything he could about the test subject.

Cool was a male entity, or at least manifested as one. He wore elegant robes and was bald. His body had intricate markings in the language and symbols of the native Thayne. Cool had eyes that glowed with a powerful energy. He spoke in a deeply accented voice, but it was surprisingly kind. Sabatykos was rapidly becoming more and more fascinated by the Thayne before them all. The chance to speak to a deity...

Sabatykos spoke first. "The throne...we made it to the exact specifications. I trust you are comfortable tonight?"

Cool looked up at Sabatykos, he'd been deep in thought for some time prior to that. "Ah. Young Sabatykos. Why must you always ask me that question? It's been what, a decade since that awful war ended?" Cool continued. "I am quite comfortable here. Your team has treated me with adequate respect."

Sabatykos's eyes narrowed. Had it really been ten years? He looked at Cool for a long moment. "I am genuinely concerned for your comfort and well being. If there is anything I can get you, let me know." Sabatykos said.

"You've already done enough. You managed to construct the Well Font to exact specs." Cool continued. "I merely get lonely down here and do appreciate your constant company."

Sabatykos responded. "You are too kind. I merely did what was required at the time. I am glad that it is adequate enough to suit your needs." Sabatykos continued. "It has been roughly twenty years now to the day you joined us. Ten years since the end of The Civil War, and the completion of the Well Font." Sabatykos felt a very real sense of pride of in his chest. "You have taught us much in that time." Sabatykos stated truthfully.

"We have learned a lot from each other." Cool admitted. "But my fascination is not with this building, or even the Well Font itself. My fascination lies with you and what you will be able to achieve, young one."

Sabatykos listened intently. The two had a strange rapport of sorts, that had become a student/teacher style relationship. Sabaytkos oft listened to the words of Master Cool. "Something is on your mind, my Master?" Sabatykos said. The two had learned a great deal of one another.

"Yes. That is always true, but tonight is different. My personal intuition has always been one of my many talents, and I have a strong feeling something will happen to you tonight. In the next few hours I might add." Cool said.

"What sort of something, and how may we prepare?" Sabatykos had to ask.

Sabatykos always did consider Master Cool a friend and ally and put the entity's needs far above his own.

"It is already happening. My vision reveals that somewhere, above us, your Lord Fargon has betrayed the very nature of this building. He has betrayed Radasanth itself and now he is coming to destroy this place and bury it's secrets."

Sabatykos frowned upon hearing those words...in all of his days working at the Fargon Estate, he never once considered a betrayal. "How can this be?" Sabatykos asked, suddenly quite alarmed. The young Engineer looked at Master Cool for guidance.

"Young Sabatykos. Do you trust me?" Cool suddenly asked.

He did not even hesitate in his response. "Master Cool...with my very life."

"This is what you must do." Cool began the explanation.

Footsteps and the sounds of people screaming filled the hallway.

Man: "You do realize this will draw unnecessary attention to us?" A burly man was asking Lord Fargon, several of their associates were already busily killing and torturing the engineers of Fargon's estate.

Lord Fargon: "It won't matter. We can blame it on outside interference, or some other excuse like that." Lord Fargon was an older gentleman with a thick beard and a long flowing gray mane. His eyes were cold.

Man: "What about that loose end?" The burly man asked as they made their way through the underground section of the old warehouse building.

Lord Fargon: "I am prepared to deal with that problem, you just make sure the rest are all dealt with accordingly so we can place the blame on The Thayne himself." Lord Fargon paused. He looked at the burly man for a long moment. "Leave no survivors, no witnesses. Am I understood?" Lord Fargon had one thought on his mind. And that was the elimination of Sabatykos Maelstrom. If things went his way, there would be no recollection of the night's incident at all.

With the safeties on the Wellfont completely offline, the Thayne was capable of working his full power with the augmentation of the device that Sabatykos and his team were able to fashion.

Sabatykos worked to disable the security measures put in place by Lord Fargon and his men.

Without their knowledge, Cool had already known about the secret measures put in place there.

As a Thayne, the entity had supernatural control over many things. But he was basically compliment to the elemental laws of Nature itself. In his case, the elemental energy governing the laws of Chi and life essence were his to govern. Though he was a Lesser Thayne, and not a very well known one, he was still a Thayne. And there were many in existence, for the pantheon was a grandiose one. Cool revealed the true nature of The Wellfont. And the very foundation of the building itself began to shake, but only very subtly at first.

Sabatykos saw the metal plates of the thick walls began to vibrate and bend subtly against the weight of the powerful energy coursing through The Wellfont. It was basically a battery of energy, a throne, a proper throne for a Thayne.

The Wellfont itself was a mysterious machine that was capable of generating great amounts of energy very quickly. Further, the one synced to the machine could command the energy to complete various tasks and deeds. This was all within the design of the machine's main mainframe capacity. The metallic portions of the large device resembled a well, and was completely lit up with the vast power stored within it. Sabatykos could feel the energy crackling through the very air itself, making the hairs on his skin stand on end. Sabatykos's skin tingled and he felt almost dizzy from the energy that was cascading through the air. Energy passed through the air as a rippling mass, the locks on the machine completely removed.

It was at that point that Sabatykos heard a lot of yelling coming their way.

Screams and shouts, piercing through the air.

Sabatykos Maelstrom: "We don't have much time left, Master Cool!" Sabatykos did not once question the Thayne before him. They were privy to a grander scale of knowledge than even he had at his disposal.

The lab space was large, and there was a large series of interconnected chambers.

The intruders would have to walk through each chamber to get to Sabatykos's current position.

The inventor looked at Master Cool.

Cool: "Now Sabatykos. Just as they are entering." Cool said in a very calm, but serious sort of voice.

Sabatykos saw Lord Fargon approaching their position with several armed fellows he'd never seen before. Those are probably hired swords...their blades are already bloody. I'm running out of time... The inventor thought to himself as he turned to look back towards Master Cool. There was a sudden burst of energy as the fail safes for the machine went off line. A slow moving rippling of massive chi, swirled outward from the epicenter of the machine. The machines were lit up in the room, and massive amounts of energy poured through the building. The slow-moving energy passed through Sabatykos. He was touched by the very heart of The Wellfont itself. Sabatykos yelled in agony, as the energy coursed right through the core of his being.

As it touched physical objects, the object were either destroyed or burst apart at the seams.

Sabatykos saw Lord Fargon first.

Angry, the man was in a fit of rage as the energy passed through his body.

Lord Fargon: "Watch out everyone, it's free!" Lord Fargon yelled suddenly, and approached Sabatykos, his body already crackling and burning from the massive waves of pulsing energy.

Sabatykos looked at Lord Fargon for a moment, as the man suddenly lunged towards him, reaching for the inventor's neck.

Sabatykos attempted to intercept the burning man's attack...

Time passed.

Sabatykos awoke sometime later, without any knowledge of where he was.

He slowly came to, and found himself in a comfortable bed, a better bed than he'd slept in many years.

The bed sheets were simple pastels in nature, a playful pattern that was comfortable on his aching eyes.

He still felt as if hands were choking him, but the feeling soon faded.

The residual feeling passed, and an image of Lord Fargon still passed through the man's head.

He slid out of bed, and looked around the room at that point. There was a cozy fireplace, and he wondered exactly whose house he was currently in. There was a rug on the floor. His bare feet seemed to appreciate the comfortable feeling of the rub. He looked out the window, and saw the familiar Concordia Forest outside. Then, he went downstairs, treated to the smell of breakfast and hot chocolate. Sabatykos saw that Master Cool was preparing the food that was going to be consumed relatively shortly. He saw several other people in the house too. Sabatykos looked at Master Cool and several people he had never seen before.

Master Cool: "Ah you're awake young Sabatykos." Cool said calmly. "If you must know, we weren't certain you'd wake up after what you went through." Master Cool said.

Sabatykos Maelstrom: "I...I was dead?" Sabatykos asked. He was a man of science after all, and he needed answers for his mind to comprehend the state of affairs.

Master Cool: "In a manner of speaking. But because of The Wellfont's power, I was able to keep death's cold clutches from reach you." Master Cool continued to cook as the strangers observed Sabatykos. "I always did love cooking you know. Always, fills with you pride and joy making something with your own hands. Is that not true with Engineering?" Master Cool asked. "Many months have passed since the incident at Fargon's Estate. About five of your mortal months. The official explanation is that an accident occurred at Fargon's Estate and everybody went missing. Your Lord Fargon included."

Sabatykos Maelstrom: "Sir." Sabatykos said calmly. "The Wellfont worked like it was supposed to?"

Master Cool: "You truly are one of the most brilliant minds of your age." Master Cool used his vast power to finish cooking the meal that would feed the gathered. He looked at Sabatykos for a long moment. "You have questions, and I have answers, but you must rest and eat well first. The answers will come in time." Master Cool said carefully. "In the meantime, I will have one of my apprentices assist you. Your body is still recovering from the vast amount of Chi it was exposed to."

It was then that Sabatykos noticed the group of students that all wore similar attire.

Sabatykos Maelstrom: "Where are we, exactly?" Sabatykos had to know. "Please sir, I must know."

Master Cool: "You're on the property of one of my many followers. You have been here for five months, as I said and you are in safe hands. We have protected you from the event at Fargon's Estate." Master Cool looked at Sabatykos. "You must have many more questions, but as I said...the answers are coming. Eat well and get to know your associates. I will be outside, tending to the grounds around us, and preparing for what is coming." Master Cool said and stepped outside of the house.

Sabatykos was left with six children of varying ages, including two younger ones.

The other ones were all in various stages of what appeared to be their late teen years, to early twenties. Mixes of men and women, of all of Althnas's sentient races. Including one Drow from Alerar.

Sabatykos's body was still recovering from the ordeal he'd faced.

One of the older chldren saw that and immediately moved to Sabatykos as he was getting ready to fall.

Sabatykos Maelstrom: "Uh...thank you." Sabatykos said and was guided towards a nearby chair. "Uh...My name is Sabatykos."

The Drow, apparently the oldest of the bunch, a woman, looked towards Sabatykos.

Drow: "We know who you are. Master Cool has foretold your arrival."

Sabatykos blinked at that, and that was how it all began.
