View Full Version : First MMORPG You Played
For it was 2001 runescape. Man I use to love that game.

Ragnarok Online. I still wish I could play it, but the new OS systems don't support it. And RO2 doesn't have the same feel of the pixel art on 3D. Man, I miss that game.

I would definately say I rocked runescape first. Id put some time on others after the fact, but none got anywhere near the time Runescape did.
Nowadays I rock WoW, although significantly less because Im waiting for legion to come out.

Does Althanas count?
Because if so, then it's my first and only.
Maybe but it's not really a video game. Even though it's used enough be one. XD
I put in nearly an embarrassing amount of time on rs. It was what got me into role playing though. A group of friends started using parts of the rs forum. Man it was awesome.

Oh, wait. I put a month or so into Elder Scrolls Online.
Forgot about that.

I was completely enveloped with RS for a long, long time. I actually got a "maxed" character aside from not getting 120 Dungeoneering several years ago (99 in all other skills). Terrific game, but I didn't like when they went more towards a WoW model of very advanced combat. I came to miss simplicity after a while. Was out before launch of Divination.
Don't play much of any MMORPG anymore. I guess "King's Road" for iOS is the closest to it, but that's a much less consuming game.
I steer clear from WoW because my addictive personality demands it.

I think the first was FFXI. I didn't play for very long - grinding against goblins with a full group, literally just killing goblins over and over, was not fun.
I got into WoW for several years after BC hit, played until the end of WOLK. Lich-King was an amazing expansion, and I wasn't excited about the next.
I played FFXIV for a while, fantastic MMO but I can't devote the time to it right now. I'll probably re-up and get Heavensward in a month or two.

Althanas was my very first RP experience ever. Ashla was my first character and still is my main account.
My first gaming rp (and by far only one that i still play) is Lord of the Rings Online on the rp server Landroval (however its spelled :P) My character is an emo, black clothes wearing, cocky and reckless former Backwold.

I have been playing MMO's for a long time now.
Started Althanas near IV's launch back on All RPG. Good times.
I missed the first version of Althanas by a few months I think it was, my first character was Lorenor and I never stopped using him.
Insofar as games go, I think I started my mmo experience with WOW as a matter of fact. I knew nothing about them at the time and it was cool cause I could play with my buddies who were playing. I been playing WoW seriously since the launch of the Burning Crusade expac. In my tenure of playing various mmo's, I've played RS (Which still remains a cool game.) Various browser games (Those timer egg things) including Syrnia. I currently play Amaranthine and Fallen Sanctum. I also am a HUGE fan of SWTOR (I'm a big Expanded Universe Star Wars fan) and i play Final Fantasy Heavensward. I refuse to ever try Eve Online because FUCK that A) loosing your ship thing, and B) loosing irl money thing. Not happening no way. Other than that, I'm willing to try most games as long as the set up is isn't too ridiculous. Anyway guys that's about it from me. :D
I kinda just started back. budda985 it was one of the few I never maxed out. I miss my old character though. (It kept getting hacked)
FFXIV is awesome. Like you I just don't have the time for another massive game like that.

I love reading articles about how EVE Online's in-game systems and economies work, and how they've had an effect on the real world.
Fascinating stuff, really.
