I am making a YouTube Channel ... and I need your help!

Hey fellow geeks and nerds!!

So I am in the process of creating a YouTube Channel. After some processes of discussion on a separate forum it is going to have the purposes of encouraging writers, giving out creative writing tips, doing book reviews and possibly film adaptions of book reviews. It will also touch on comics and graphic novels at some point - basically the written word.

What I need from you are ideas for names of this new channel. I can use the name Philomel but I would like some suggestions for more interesting descriptive ones.

Also ideas for topics, and whether or not you think this is a good idea.

I just slapped my character's name on my channel. You could do the same. Another suggestion is something like "Dr. Phi" (get it? Dr Phil, Dr. Phi?) Or you could go with a title like "Phi's Writing Tips." Dunno, all my good title ideas are puns.

Whatever you call it, i look forward to watching your videos!

I'd suggest you just make videos of whatever you like. It's very hard to say because everyone has their own process for writing and judging, but it would be interesting to see how you critique writing - here or elsewhere.

My daughters watch Youtube Videos of women unpacking stupid small toys, and those women make a zillion dollars a year doing it. I don't think I understand Youtube.

Just off the top of my head, possible titles could be:

Dr. Phi’s Guides to Creative Penmanship
The usherette through the domain of scriptavi
Cicerone of labors of lingua franca

Dr. Phi is really cute. I'm not overly creative, so I'll have to think on the rest of the title. But I think Dr. Phi should be included somehow.

Though artistically, Dr. Phi (in my mind) is the sensual faun in a nurse costume with a stethoscope and an elegant writing plume shaped like a syringe.

I am not that familiar with Dr. Phil, that is really the only problem. Lye, just for you I will now write a fan-fiction of Philomel as such.

I think it is a fantastic idea and I think you will be fantastic at it !

You probably want to be careful though with things that sound too similar to other peoples channels like 'Dr Phil'
Especially TV shows / Companies that are more likely to sue over copy-write infringement than actually seeing your content for what it is.
You also do not want your viewers to assume that you create the same sort of material to the other channel just based on the name and finally it will be a lot easier to find your content if your name is not like anything currently out there.

You probably also do not want to limit yourself too much by putting the content in the name as knowing you, you will probably branch out into various different interests as time goes on, so having the content in the tags or the actual video title is probably enough for people to find it.

I would recommend something short unique and memorable (like you), something that you can imagine someone saying excitedly:
'NAME' uploaded this yesterday ! , Have you seen the new video by 'NAME' ?

Personally I think 'Philomel' is an Awesome name - no one else has it - sounds intellectual and fun and when you search for it on you tube currently very little comes up.

I also like the name 'Fauncast' because it sounds like forecast / combines faun and podcast and of course has links to Althanas.

Combinations of random words that mean things to you is also always an option and seems to be a good way to get something memorable:
> Tea Fish Tiny Red Dragon Poet Epic Mythic Mithy Thump Fantasy Faun Phi Book Scribe Scots Small Awesome Fae Rant Words Grammar Gramarye Magic Geode Fox Sheep Tangent ... etc.

You are also a lover of puns and terrible jokes so something going down that route is probably a good idea ...

I am at a loss but hopefully something I have said is helpful in some way ... ?
