It wasn’t long before duty called for the young Orlouge, as was promised by Shinsou when he was offered the job. He watched as the doors to the infirmary were thrown open by two large men. Lloyd immediately sprang into action. Reaching quickly for his medical kit he keeps strapped to his side Lloyd made for the two men. One carried the other’s weight on his shoulder; there was a steady stream of blood coming from the man’s gut as he clenched it in pain.

“What happened?” the young mystic asked as he leaned in and grabbed his wounded comrade other arm and carried him to the closest table. The two laid him on his back and began to work. “Grab some rags we need to stop the bleeding.” Lloyd said before the other man could even answer his question. His long white hair dangled in front of his narrow eyes as he looked at the man. His shirt was now drenched crimson as he squirmed in agony. Lloyd drew his scalpel and cut his shirt off his body.

“We just made it back from a mission; he was stabbed in the gullet.” Lloyd’s new assistant said in a hurry as he searched for the rags.

“Over in the cabinet!” Lloyd pointed to the corner of the wing.

“He’s been bleeding for nearly an hour.”

“Hurry up I need you over here.”

“Right,” he said grabbing the rags.

Lloyd could see where his skin was sliced through by what seems to be a small dagger by the looks of the entry wound. It was deep and narrow, like this man was stabbed unexpectedly. This looked bad but with his expertise in the medical art this is less than a fatal wound.

“Put pressure on the wound, I need to prepare a moment. “ Lloyd said as he began rolling up his sleeves. As he did he exposed a maze of stitches in his arms traveling all the way up both. There was the occasional pattern but otherwise it seemed that this man was mostly made up of stitched together pieces. He caught the eye of the boy as he did this but didn’t bother to explain his situation; there was no time they had to hurry. With his scalpel firmly in one hand he aimed it ah his wrist. And in a gnarly display on self-masochism he plunged blade about a quarter inch into his skin and promptly drug it up the length of his arm. While slicing his own arm he severed the stitches that sealed his shadow magic. With new vigor the tethers that were his seals came to life dancing along his arm.

“Move,” Lloyd said as he pushed aside the boy. There was a pale look on his face as he watched Lloyd release his magic. He almost looked like he wanted to vomit for a moment as his eyes stayed wide open watching. Pulling the rags from the man wounds Lloyd would say the bleeding lessened and the man was ready for his magic. Then without warning the mystic placed his unsealed arm palm first over the wound. His stitches danced with increased energy as the appeared to lengthen and mover towards the man’s chest.

“What are you doing?” The boy managed though hands cupping his mouth.

“I’m saving his life. “ He said and just as the words escaped his lips, his stitched plunged themselves into the man’s chest. The man began to scream as the tethers began weaving themselves into his skin. You could see them from as they worked themselves under the skin. This went on for a moment, before Lloyd ripped his hand off the man’s bare chest. The boy moves in close to see and a relieved expression comes over him. The man’s wound was now completely stitched up and appeared to be at full heath, minus the exhaustion that had set in over this experience.

The mystic gripped his wrist tightly as his stiches began close his own wound and fuse once more to his greying skin. He heard from the swinging doors a man walk into the room he turned his head to see the very man who had hired him. He applauded as he approached Lloyd; the mystic was used to praise for his work and he assumed that this would be no different.
