Nero-Ky
01-27-16, 03:15 PM
Name: Nero-Ky Osiris
Gender: Male
Age: 28 years old
Race: Halfblood Jal Shey / Telgradian
Eye Color: Gold
Hair color: White
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 143lbs
Alignment: Unknown
Current occupation:
Renegade Jal Shey operative.
Personality:
Nero-Ky is bipolar by nature, having inherited traits from both his Telgradian father and Jal Shey mother. His Jal Shey bloodline harbours a manipulative, and very dangerous, nature that isn’t always present but bubbles beneath the surface. When in this frame of mind, he cares very little for his underlings, and is willing to use almost everyone around him as pawns to achieve his goals. He is willing to stop at nothing to further his selfish ambitions, including manipulating or killing anyone if he deems it to be necessary.
Nero-Ky’s Telgradian personality mediates between his dark and light nature, encompassing both a compassionate side and a dark one. He particularly admires the opposite sex, frequently and openly courting where possible despite his bipolar persona. This experience has also helped to mould his personality into something more human, which has resulted in his marginalisation in a hard-line Jal Shey society. However, elements of his cold and calculating side remain.
Appearance:
Nero-Ky bears a striking resemblance to his brother Shinsou. He has the same soft golden eyes as his Telgradian counterpart, but has short, white hair and wears a black, sleevless shirt with a silver sash across his waist. To complete the attire, Nero-Ky wears black Jal Shey style pantaloons that have become the staple of the Jal Shey society, complete with black boots.
Nero-Ky’s body is extremely athletic. Weighing in at 143lbs, there is not an inch of fat on him.
Over the top of his attire are magical seals of dark energy that resemble thick black leather straps. These straps have bound Nero-Ky’s incredible power and prevent him from accessing it.
Weapon:
Souretsu
Typically, the “Kurai” sword is a staple of Telgradian and Jal Shey society, with each sword named and imbued with a part of the soul of its bearer. This soul fragment is what makes each sword unique, and as the user grows stronger, the sword progresses with it and allows the user to tap into the sword’s power and access both new and improved abilities (See abilities for these). This type of sword first made an appearance as a heavier, less wieldy anti cavalry sword in the first era of the Telgradian Monarchy, and was adapted in the Telgradian Civil war for infantry on infantry skirmishing. Traditionally, it is a weapon used by captain-level soldiers who are experienced and powerful enough to use the weapon to its fullest potential.
The sword itself is designed to have the cutting power and shape of a Katana whilst retaining the impact shielding a broadsword would have. The sword itself is 91cms in total, with a hilt length of 15cms. The guard and hilt are crafted from white ivory. The blade is forged from steel and measures at 76cms.
Souretsu has a unique profile. The cutting edge of the weapon is thinner than a standard Kurai but has a longer, sharper tip. Usually this would result in a fragile point, but this brittleness has been eliminated and is no longer evident in the cutting edge, tip, length or base, making it ideal for piercing or stabbing cleanly.
Skills:
Knowledge of “Dakuatsu”:
Nero-Ky is able to practice, with a degree of mastery, magic known as Dakuatsu. Dakuatsu are numbered according to power, with the highest numbers in the hundreds and the lowest numbers in the tens. However, with the majority of his power sealed, he is unable to practice the arts as he once could. He does, however, retain the knowledge of the numbers and what each Dakuatsu does and is able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each one.
Swordsmanship
Nero-Ky is a naturally gifted swordsman, allowing him to duel well with even the most schooled of warriors.
Abilities
Dakuatsu #17: Dark Matter
This Dakuatsu allows the user to forge an object of dark energy that can be either used as a handheld weapon or used as a projectile up to a range of a hundred yards.
The dark energy comprises solid dark matter that can pierce or cut flesh and light armour, and is the equivalent strength of steel. The weapon or tool forged can be no longer than 100cms in length due to the limitations of Nero-Ky’s skill with Dark Matter.
Shinsou can call upon this skill twice before exhausting it for the duration of the battle.
Senkai: Shin Souretsu
Nero-Ky draws on the latent power contained within Souretsu to increase his sword’s length up to two times that of its normal size by adding a razor sharp blade of wind to the tip of the blade. This can be done in increments of his choosing, or all the way up to double upon release. The actual ability is activated by merely speaking or thinking the words “Senkai: Shin Souretsu”, although usually Nero-Ky follows through with the Senkai ceremony; dipping his head and raising Souretsu ninety degrees to his shoulders. Once activated, the power remains active until the end of the battle or at the end of an hour. This can only be cast once per battle.
Shin Souretsu will not work if Nero-Ky has suffered severe wounds.
Background:
Nero-Ky Osiris is the son of Telgradian Council of Five member Telos Soltair and Jal Shey Baroness Shryion Tekk. He is also the brother of renown Telgradian Shinsou Vaan Osiris.
Believed to have been born in the Outer Territories of the Planet Telgradia two years after Shinsou, Nero-Ky was born around the Telgradian year 517 and immediately enrolled into the Jal Shey military academy. Being of the bloodline, he was set on the path to becoming a true Jal Shey lord; a rarity indeed.
The young Nero-Ky became a respected warrior and was soon appointed the commander of a Jal Shey skirmisher patrol. Learning how to control and wield his dark powers from within the Jal Shey academy, the charismatic Nero-Ky was soon instrumental in the defeat of many Telgradian regiments in the fabled Telgradian Civil War.
Learning that his brother Shinsou was leading a small ragtag guerrilla loyalist movement against the Jal Shey people in defiance of the Telgradian Council’s wishes, and taking on the name of Atlas Revaan, Nero-Ky joined the fight and was given the task of complete obliteration of the Telgradian forces under his brother’s command.
However, when Atlas Revaan defeated Nero-Ky at the Battle of Gaus VII in Telgradian year 535, he and his friend Keats followed the trail of a mysterious influence on the Jal Shey to the unknown regions of the Jal Shey Empire. It was here that Temperance turned Shinsou against Telgradia, and unbeknownst to him sent Nero-Ky to oversee Shinsou’s campaign against Telgradia.
However, when Shinsou was subsequently captured and sentenced to imprisonment in the high security facility Kokushi, Nero-Ky found himself without a goal, an army or a purpose. Shinsou Vaan Osiris, considered too powerful and dangerous, was also sentenced to a process known as razing – used only on the most violent and profound of criminals – which strips the soul of an offender from their body completely and imprisons it inside a Pillar artefact. Nero-Ky believed his brother dead, and with the Jal Shey defeated fled the world of Telgradia for Althanas.
