View Full Version : Bloodborne
So, has anyone played this game? I picked it up last week and I think I'm in love. I've only gotten to the first boss, but I have not died yet! I play a STR/SKL build and currently wield the pistol & Saw Cleaver. I haven't gotten down the visceral attack yet, but I hope to do it soon.
If anyone else plays, share your tips or join me for some beast slaying. I play as Lye. ;3c

I have. It's kinda fun and challenging but obviously can be frustrating. My biggest gripe is that there is so little directly and as the game progresses you sort of have no idea what you're expected to do or where to go. It's almost as though after every major event, they expect you to revisit every place you've been "just to check" to see if anything has changed. I didn't even finish it honestly. I lost motivation. I was maybe more than half way through roughly (I started using a guide at one point).

Its pretty fun, I like it a lot.
My issues with the game are almost all with the game in perspective of the series it finds itself a part of. While not a true "souls" game, it bugs me to see the base mechanics without some of the intricacies. The lack of sheildplay was a huge turnoff for me, forcing me to adapt and limit my playstyle a bit.
My only MAIIN gripe is that bosses have too much god damn health. Holy shit, for combat as blisteringly fast as it is I shouldnt be stuck slapping big eldritch horror number 80 for thirty minutes. Almost every non hunter based boss has too much HP for the amount of damage you deal.

I enjoy it, I play as well. We should team up! Welcome to the hunt hunter.
Yeah, the bosses are something ridiculous. Especially since they are so massive and their attacks are huge AOE. It's a pain to get in there and deal the damage. I know if you can counter them with your firearm, you can score massive visceral attacks, but the timing is so precise. I'm just taking it slow, collecting blood echoes, and beefing myself up for the later baddies.
I'm trying to find the claymore sword because I think that may be my fav. The dual blades appeal to me as well, but I think that is an expansion item? I only have my starting weapon and the kirkhammer.

There are multiple dualblade items if I recall. I think the sword can be found from a badge in an area unlocked by beating an optional boss.

Given this years slate of games doesn't impress me much (until April at least when Uncharted 4 comes out), I might pick this one up.
However, if you guys continue to play Destiny, I'm content sticking with that too.
