MISSION DETAILS

Dollet has remained under Galbadia control since the initial invasion that activated the Radio Tower. With the fall of Adel and her prison, the anti-sorceress wavelength produced by her orbital prison no longer interferes with radio waves or similar wireless transmissions. Since the reformation of Galbadia after the election of President Heartily, certain factions of the G-Army have remained loyal to the sorceress's ideals. These "Loyalists" do not have the same peaceful intentions of President Heartily and have locked down the radio tower for their own pirate broadcasts. Balamb Garden, finally rooted back in its original location and repaired from its journey, has been tasked to send aide to relive Dollet of hostile occupation. As with the heroes of the Time War, Balamb has elected to use this large scale mission as a testing ground for the next generation of SeeDs.

The mission will be conducted in waves. The first wave will be naval deployment of the primary SeeD force. This will consist of seasoned veterans to break the enemy barricade. Since this tactic was used previously, defenses have been fortified. Three vessels of SeeD forces will deploy first under the cover of night. They will hit primary defense structures and eliminate a majority of the initial Galbadian forces. Once the shore has been secured, the second wave will commence.

The second wave will consist of five vessels of five candidates each. Candidates are to move into the city and eliminate any hostile occupying forces. Many of these will be injured or on the retreat from the initial strike. It is possible that the G-Army may take hostages. Civilian life takes precedence and you are to secure any hostages through whatever means. Any civilians you encounter are to be directed or lead to the nearest SeeD safehouse. As more of the city is cleared, SeeDs will occupy advantages structures as safehouses, look for the SeeD logo to identify these structures. Once the city has been secured, the final wave will commence.

The final wave will consist of three vessels. These will be medical officers and instructors. They are to provide medical assitance to any personnel injured in the operation. Civilian life takes precedence. Instructors will retrieve their assigned cadets for extraction and gather mission reports from their squadrons. Evaluations will be made and relayed to Headmaster Cid upon return. The remaining SeeD forces will move onto the radio tower and remove it from enemy occupation. This will be the enemy's base of operation and is considered highly dangerous. Only SeeD forces should be present for this operation. As they move to occupy the radio tower, Garden vessels will extract the injured that have been stabilized and any refugees without home or family. They will be given refuge in Balamb until hostilities have halted in Dollet. Once the radio tower has been secured, an extraction wave will be sent to retrieve SeeD forces.

Once the mission has been completed, Balamb Garden will be awarded their contract funds. Any surplus to operational costs are to be used to aide in reconstruction efforts. Boths SeeDs and Cadidates are able to volunteer for reconstruction and will be posted as guards for the length of the efforts. Once complete, a full withdrawal of Garden forces will commence.

Objectives:

Secure the beach head
Secure the city and evacuate remaining civilians
Secure the radio tower

Secondary:

It was not the homecoming Maye expected. Dollet, through the viewing screen of the transport ship, was far from welcoming. Fortunately the early rain had stopped, leaving the air crisp and biting. The instructors on the top of the foreword transport ship stood in a loose circle, eyeing the radio tower veiled in haze atop Dollet’s rocky outcrop."I used to play there, as a kid."

They each turned to the eldest amongst them. Jacqueline, a feisty duellist nearing her forties who had been raised and still lived in the lower streets of the town. She remained chipper and spritely despite the years.

"Was it even built then?" Maye jested.

She darted a glare at him, stuck out her tongue, and turned back to their objective. Each of the transport ships carried a similar unit of the garden’s more seasoned veterans. Some carried soldiers, ready to lay down supporting fire and plant charges in case the remnants of Galbadia’s dissenters had procured heavy weaponry. Even from this distance, the rusty hulk of the X-ATM092 was an ill omen.

"Everyone clear on their mission?"

Maye nodded. His cheeky grin faded, replaced with a calm smile and a glimmer of intent. Their objective was to breach the barricades.

"Then we will rendezvous in the hotel plaza once the defences are breached."

"Killian, can you sense anything?" She turned to the youngest of their unit.

The diminutive mage moved to the front of the ship, peered over the rail, and took a deep breath of open sea air. What she lacked in physical strength she made up for in intuition and a talent with magic that drew the name Little Sorceress. One only her close friends used without reprisal.

"Nope." She shook her head. "Which means we’re going to be in trouble the moment we land?"

Maye sighed. He rested one hand on the hilt of his blade and tapped his ear comm. with the other. "First Wave launch. Second Wave begins boarding in four minutes. Be prepared for heavy infantry resistance." He caught Killian’s gaze, and they exchanged a wink.

The transport darted ahead, gentle waves broken beneath a long, threatening bow.

Balamb, a quiet city guarded by the world's most renown military forces, SeeD. Alyssa Snow sat silently, dockside, with her legs swinging freely over the edge. Fish swam frantically beneath the lapping waters as assault frigates prepped for launch. Sun barely peeked over the horizon, painting her navy cadet uniform in an orange glow and lighting her blonde ponytail aflame with dawn's light. Shouts of organized choas roared from the mouths of senior SeeD officers and Instructors alike. Cadets who had not qualified for the mission hustled to an fro with large wooden crates of medical supplies, weaponry, and field equipment. Meanwhile, civilians watched from the barricade and hotel balconies with the gleam of interest and intrigue in their eyes.

"Hey," the familiar voice of Daire Chance called out to Alyssa. She felt her friend's hand on her shoulder as Daire's reflection danced in the restless waters. "The first wave will be hitting the docks any minute. Instructor Xu has called for boarding of the SeeD Candidates. We should get going."

Alyssa took a deep, weighted breath and exhaled loudly to steel her nerves.

"Did you sleep?" she replied, still staring out over the horizon where their mission awaited them.

"Had my junior roommate knock me out with a spell. You?"

"Not a wink." Alyssa hoisted herslef off the dock with a little help from Daire. As she stood, she dusted off her formal skirt and adjusted her two thigh holsters. "How do I look?"

"Ready to kick some ass." Daire smiled and it spread to Alyssa albeit weakly. "Don't worry, we got paired together. I'll handle the up close engagements and you just keep an eye on my back. You're the best shot in Balamb. I believe in you. This'll be a piece of cake. Easier than the T-Rexaurs in the training wing. You'll see."

Daire's reassurance did little to stave off Alyssa's unease. Giant lizards lacked the intelligence of humans. They just wanted food and would do anything to fill their bellies. Humans lie, they plot, and they organize. Granted, Guardian Forces set SeeDs apart from the common soldier, but it didn't make them any less mortal.

"Come on, I don't want us to get docked for being late," Daire encouraged with a tug on Alyssa's sleeve.

"Alright, alright! I'm coming!"

The two made way to their vessel just as a pair of younger cadets finished loading the last of the cargo. Xu waited patiently outside the hatch, guiding them in with her hands while keeping watch for the third member of their squad. Alyssa gave one last look to Xu before disappearing into the frigate. How she kept her composure through these missions always slipped her mind. Perhaps it was the difference between a full fledged SeeD and a Cadet. Who knew?

Daire and Alyssa worked their way through the cramped interior to their seats and latched themselves in. From the opposite side, Daevin nodded silently to them.

"You ready?" he asked in his deep, yet soothing voice. Alyssa looked to her feet.

"Ready for a fight, captain!" Daire chirped with a firm nudge into Alyssa's side. The girl winced while simultaneously raising her eyes to meet his.

"Ready, sir!" the nervous teen echoed.

"Good," Daevin grinned with a rub of his thick stubble, "This will be your first live combat situation. Don't let your guard down and watch each other's backs. Do you have your GFs junctioned and ready?"

"Yessir!" the two barked in unison.

"Excellent. Now, where is our last member...?" Daevin trailed off as he directed his attention to the hatch.

Daevin is the accompanying SeeD to Squad B. Daire's actions are explicitly mine to control. Daevin can be bunnied by anyone so long as they don't break character for a SeeD Instructor. Xu is overseeing the mission and is a Canon character. She will do an in-transit briefing as we get closer to the DZ. She will also be co-piloting the vessel. Our pilot is unnamed but to be considered a SeeD as well. Xu holds the highest rank with Daevin beneath her, and the unnamed pilot beneath him. Everything else is free to be played out.
