They say that if you visit the Tilted Dice Tavern in Stonevale, you’ll sometimes spot a girl. A strange girl.

Name: Tash Morinvel
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Eyes: Pale Blue
Hair: Red
Height: 5'9”
Weight: 127 lbs
Occupation: Tinkerer

(Appearance)

She’s not hard to miss. Hair a shiny red. Eyes icy blue. Wears a tall cinch around her waist. Not like a corset, mind you. Those flatter the figure. She dresses to diminish what other women might flaunt. All sharp lines and business. She always has a pack and pouches full of gods know what. And then there’s the goggles. Don’t ask her what they’re for besides staring at the sun. Just know that if she puts them on.... Run.

(Personality)

In fact, don’t ask her anything. Unless she has some sort of business with you, you’ll get more warmth licking an icicle. There are stories of her showing kindness to animals, children, all that. But the men of the Tilted Dice don’t earn any sympathy. They just get the look. Like she’s studying you, reading you like a book… and she doesn’t even need to open the book to know whether there’s anything worthwhile in it.

(History)

They say other things about her, too, things you’ve got no business knowing. But you know how men talk over drink. They say she’s a firstborn daughter of the Morinvels. Don’t recognize the name? Clearly you’ve never had to sign off a shipping manifest at the Corone docks. It’s not the most prestigious of trading companies, nor the cleanest, but it’s bound to net her a good pocketful of coin, right?

Then why is she shacking up at a merc n’ miner tavern like The Tilted Dice? Your guess is as good as mine. It’s not even a nice room. Certainly not the Lord’s Suite, with its extra chamber pot and a bed wide enough to keep a whore overnight without laying so close you have to pay extra. No, she’s out back… in the shed. Old Dav used to store his “budget” wines in there. Now, well, it’s not a place you want to go near after what she’s done to it.

Don’t get me wrong. She’s made a lot of good things with that… tinkering or whatever she does. If your clock’s stopped working, she’s the one to ask for. She’ll make it tell you the weather also. Even little things like locks and latches, gates and jewelry boxes, she’ll do you some fine work. Just don’t expect conversation, but make sure to ask for instructions before she leaves. You’ll often get surprises you didn’t ask for and flipping random switches is liable to get you another visit from her. The second visit costs an extra “redundancy fee” or so she calls it, and it’s a hefty one. The girl’s got to live, I guess.

That shed, though. Metal bolted to the walls. Pipes coming out the roof. Door so secure I’m surprised the fathers in town aren’t asking her to design chastity belts for their darling daughters. You’ll know she’s home if there’s steam or sparks coming out the top of it, but take care knocking. And for the love of the gods don’t touch the box set into the front wall. It looks like it’s half bear trap, and you should take that for the warning it is. Old Dav collects the rent from there and he always counts his fingers after.

What she’s up to, no one knows. She’s already built another room onto the shed in the three months she’s been here. Not a lot of space back there, though. No, the question isn’t what she’s up to. The question is where will she go to do it, cause that shed sure as the gods can’t hold her for long.

And when she does move on… The Tilted Dice is going to be a lot less interesting.

(Skills)

Perceptive - The girl’s got eyes like a hawk, when she cares to look. It feels like she gets the lay of a room the moment she walks in, and the lay of a man in the time it takes to blink and look away.

Scrapper - She can fight also. She’s got to. Walk past the Tilted Dice bar five times a week and I guarantee you’ll have to throw a punch or two. She’s not shy about where she hits either. Some would call them sucker moves, but that’s bound to get you a demonstration of why sucker moves were invented. Probably couldn’t hold her own against a real warrior, but fat chance finding one of those in The Tilted Dice (no matter what the mercs claim).

Tinkerer - If it’s broke, she can fix it… as far as anything in Stonevale goes. What’s more, give her enough time, tools, and material and she can make some of the most bewildering contraptions. I’ve got a suspicion the machines aren’t exactly… what’s the word? Efficient? Don’t seem too sturdy either, if we’re talking on the scale of years. I suppose that’s what the “redundancy fee” is for.

(Dis-abilities)

Mother’s Gift - Rude to mention, perhaps, but she gets winded easily. One day, she came in from running. No one ever sees her run. That day, though, something had her goat and she’d run herself out till her skin was even more pale and her lips had a little blue to them. Funny thing is Stonevale isn’t big enough for a normal girl to run herself into that kind of state.

(Equipment)

Shocking Touch v1 - Three Cut, one of the mercs, had a weird story one time. Said he was drunk and grabby (the man had no shame admitting it) and found her standing out front enjoying the rain, which she does sometimes. Instead of nutting him, she just laid her hands on him. Story goes, it felt like fire flew from her, through him, and out his feet. No one bought it, though, and any fires he felt were probably just for a woman touching him for the first time in years. He said he had the marks on his feet to prove it but someone clocked him out before he could take his stinky boot off.

Gloves that electrocute the target. Secure contact must be made to skin or through thin clothing. Usable four times a day, shock can cause sharp pain and reflexive jerking. It is much stronger if the target is wet.

Grounding Step v1 - Speaking of boots, one of the mercs named Penny Dumb (mercs think they are very good at puns) got a hold of one of her’s. No idea how. He just storms in with a boot over his head. Nice leather. Little bit of heel. He slapped it down on the bar and it sounded like it had some metal plates in it, probably iron. Old Dav was manning the bar and said he saw something weird in the soles of it. A layer of… he didn’t know, but it definitely wasn’t metal. No one else got a look before she stomped in behind him. (You try to not laugh when someone is stomping around in only one boot.) Long story short, sucker moves. Short victory for Penny Dumb.

Iron plates for kicking and an insulating layer that prevents Shocking Touch from arcing back on her so long as she’s on her feet.

Tools - She’s always got a pack on her shoulder. Never seems to need anything else when she’s doing work somewhere away from the shed. There’s even one nifty contraption that seems to have a bunch of tools folded into the handle, including an iron knife. Not a big one, though. It would be overkill for a steak, but undersized for a sword fight.

Howdy, Your character looks oddly familiar *glances at his own red-haired tinker with a zap glove*

Your tools don't count as an ability, more just equipment. It's nifty, but not so nifty it'd count as an ability. It's up to you if you want to add another one in or leave it as is. Your boot is similar, but if you want to add something else to it (like some gun powder charges that add a bit of a kick) then it'll really be an ability.

With Shocking Touch, can you limit it to four zaps a day? One per post is a lot.

No one suspects the red-haired-tinker-pocalype.

I changed the shock as instructed. Nothing more to add. I'll earn my toys.

I've decided to leave the pictures out. They're in the profile, so it's fine.
