It won't have escaped too many people's notice that we are in a bit of an activity lull at the moment. The question is, what do we do about it?

What i'd like to do is get together a group of people who can help spread the word of Althanas to friends, family and across social media, or even just contribute a few ideas or proposals to help get people writing. Perhaps some of you know some oldbies who would be interested in making a return? Get on their case. :)

I'll be dedicating a bit of time to promoting the site and I hope we can all show a bit of that community spirit and help to make Althanas a more active place!

I recently contacted all my oldby buddies... sadly none of them took the bait. I also put the occasional post up on my blog, with a link to the actual thread as well as the Althanas main page. Maybe we could start putting posts up on our Althanas tumblr? (doesn't really know how tumblr works).

I know I sound like a broken record, but I am slowly working on my arc. With everything going on, it is slow. But I am doing what I can and hope you all enjoy it when I do get it up.

I shall be hosting a Halloween ball with Ray giving me a few pointers so all are welcome to join. Characters must wear my masks as it is a masquerade ball. Thread will hopefully be up in the next few hours if not for sure by Friday. I have a medical procedure Wednesday so I don't think I will be able to do it that day.

Ideally we could do with an extra ten members. If they stayed active that would make such a difference here!

I have some familiarity with it. We can easily check to see if there are fantasy writing subreddits, which would be great hunting grounds for new people. It would have to be really grass-roots to get some success; I'll take a look.

Thanks guys for your help so far. I spread the love via Facebook last night and got a fairly positive response, which surprised me (mostly because some of the people who seemed interested I would never have pegged for writers or roleplayers of any description) so I feel progress is being made.

Thanks for your guidance on the Reddit platform. I'll look into it!

So there IS a role playing subreddit (r/rpg), there is also a fantasy writing subreddit (r/fantasywriters). For those of you unfamiliar with reddit, it is NOT friendly to unsolicited advertisements. It is composed largely of independent fantasy writers looking for critiques / ballwashing. If we want to create an Althanas reddit, it might land more people, or might just be more work.

I got a friend who co runs (or runs now? not sure) a sub reddit called HFY (Humanity f**k yeh)

And he's really good at driving traffic to things, he knows how much I've been enjoying this place so I will get him to pump some more RPers through if I can.
