11-22-06, 01:45 AM
Name: Ekirei Akechi
Age: Unknown (Died at 22)
Race: Undead (Once human)
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Black and White
Height: 5'10''
Weight: 137 lbs
Occupation: Rogue
Personality: Although it would probably be easy to tell just by looking at him, Ekirei is insane. Yet that is simply due to the time spent in solitude and the anger he holds for all of those that he believes are responsible for his death. Now, Ekirei believes himself to be the so-called “embodiment of chaos,” and that he has no other purpose but to seek out those that conspired to imprison him and steal his right to live a normal life. He will talk to himself regardless if there are others around him.
Appearance: Ekirei is sublimed in pale, rotting flesh that was formerly his old healthy body. He is but a walking corpse upon althanas now. The man's face is obscured by a nylon netting, while his eyes have taken misshapen tints of black and white, foretelling the insanity within the broken body of the former noble. The roots of his hair are pitch black, while the rest blazes a sort of golden blonde that was once his former innocence. His ordinary clothing consists of loose-fitting black leather pants and a black loose silk shirt, underneath a studded leather vest. His arms are covered with multiple layers of torn netting, and he constantly wears his black leather worn gloves. His boots are almost elite-like; Long, leather, and black, like the rest of his attire, tipped with a thin layer of steel.
History: Ekirei was born into a rather noble family, and grew up living your average life. Decent parents who managed to stick together through thick and thin, an older brother and sister who supported him, and all the friends he could ever count on. Life seemed to favor the boy simply because it seemed like it was treating him well even from the very beginning.
However, things began to take a turn during his teenage years. After transferring to a different place of learning, Ekirei just never seemed to fit in with those around him, and soon he became adapted to only conversing with himself. Gossip became a part of his life to which he could not take, and soon all the attention came upon him after one tried to involve his family in a mockery. The rumor of the noble family spread quickly but it also didn’t take long for Ekirei to discover who started the false stories. Of course he shouldn’t have been very surprised with his discovery, it was the one teenage boy who tormented him more than any other.
Ekirei claimed he blacked out during the time of which he pummeled the one who tormented him to death. Nonetheless, he was sentenced to remain in his family’s estate to finish the rest of his schooling. On top of that, he was only permitted to have limited time zones in which to travel out of his home. Of course, everybody suspected him when a couple more murders fell over the neighborhood a few years later. However.. Ekirei distinctly remembered himself sound asleep at the approximate hours of deaths supposedly took place.
After a trail before the town elders, he was sentenced once more. This time, to spend the rest of his days in the dungeons. He managed a good 5 years in solitude and confinement, until he lost the fight and broke, like any other man would. When he showed signs of insanity, the guards punished him by cutting back on his meals. From there things only got worse. Death took him after 36 days without food or water, then his soul crossed into the antifirmament, confined to where he was forced to wait until his final destination was determined. Somehow, though means that even he didn’t comprehend the poor soul managed to find a way to return to the firmament. the spirit of Ekirei did not hesitate when it came to escaping the black and white world that served as a holding cell for the departed, his thirst for revenge upon the souls who tortured him seemed to be the key to freedom. His spirit found its way back into the original body, buried underneath the ground without a tombstone at the local cemetery, and his corpse sprung from the earth to reveal its animosity to those who tried to forget. But the past does come back to haunt those who try to erase the past… so, why bury it?
Skills:
Close combat - One of the bare neccessities required for getting out of trouble. Ekirei's close combat skills would be categorized as average, due to the experience he has had with having to stand his ground against bullies and others to tormented him. His preferred methof of defend himself is to pummel his enemies to death. But in case of emergency he does carry a pair of daggers with him and has below average prowess with them, seeing as how he only ever really uses them when he uses stealth, and only ever aims to cause a fatal wound.
Subtlety – The art of taking down an opponent using stealth and cunning. Honed through sneaking out of his house and about town during the period when he was force to stay within the walls of his him. Though the art of adapting into the enviroment is rendered average, he prefers to hide in the shadows during the night and come at his enemies from the darkness. His skill at sneaking up on somebody and catching them off-guard with a melee weapon is also average.
Immortality – Due to the fact that Ekirei has already died, the fear of death doesn’t effect him as much as any normal human. Yet he isn’t completely immortal, he simply can’t die from old age. However, if one were to cut him in half or decapitate him, Ekirei would die again and be brought back to the Antifirmament. He wouldn’t die a second time without a fight though simply because he is unsure if he can escape that alternate world again.
Broken Body – Before Ekirei’s body was buried, the guards took pleasure in breaking the arms and legs of the poor nobleman. Yet now thanks to them, Ekirei has discovered that with a sudden twist or jerk, he can break his limbsand put them back in their proper place. This painful ability is mainly used for intimidation or to scare people away from him. Though if an opponent were to break one of his limbs, Ekirei could snap the bone back in place. However he can only do this if it isn’t a complicated fracture or if there are multiple ones all group together. Also it is still rather painful and it still takes a lot of time for the bones to heal properly. But that all depends on if they stay fixed in place long enough.
Equipment: Other than the basic everyday things any traveller would carry (a coin bag, ration and something to sleep on.) Ekirei really only carries one other thing.
Retribution and Damnation: The two steel daggers that Ekirei carries with him. The hilts are wrapped in black leather with matching sheaths. However, each dagger is different. Retribution is the one with the long, straight six-inch blade. Damnation on the other hand is a little shorter, curved slightly and hold a vicious, serrated edge to make sure it deals much more damage than it’s brother. Both daggers are worn on the back of Ekirei’s belt and are considered to be the his only friends.
