▼PERSONALITY▼Amari appears cold and harsh, she has to be. Kindness gets you killed in the slums of Salvar. However, she has a strong moral compass and believes that life should not be wasted and that no one should control another. She thinks it unfair to take a life. She is fiercely loyal to those who gain her trust. Due to her dad hiding her away from the world Amari tends to not understand the simplest of things, and is very naive. She is adaptive and inquisitive. Once past the cold exterior you will find she is very caring and compassionate, and always concerns herself with the well being of others. Despite being Lichensith Ulroke’s right hand she has a distaste for control, violence and death.

Serene Soul’s Sway Lv: 6 (Passive)
Due to the origins of her soul, Amari has an uncanny ability to affect not only nature and wildlife around her, but those susceptible to suggestion. Her soul, being Ar'Tuel, can bring peace and calm to those who are stressed. She has a way with people and animals, being able to ease minds. When it comes to nature or to plant based beings who are susceptible, if she is in elated spirits, it’ll almost seem as though flowers lift and bloom - flora reacting positively to her emotions. The higher her level, the stronger her influence.

On the opposite side of the scale, if she is in duress, pain, or deplorable moods- it will adversely affect nature around her. This is an effect that is constant (passive), however Amari can consciously stop it if she notices it happening. Adverse effects can include the wilting and decay of plant life, and materials made of natural things such as wooden tables and chairs, ropes, etc. She can affect people's emotional states around her -causing them to anger easily or be upset easily. However, for this to affect sentient beings they must be very weak willed or have her physically touching them.Her ability can affect the emotional states of players a lower level than her, the extent of the emotional effect depends on the players willpower and empathy.

Ar'Tuel Soul Reborn Lv:6
Due to her Ar'Tuel origins, Amari has a very strong soul. Her physical body and mentality are very much human and can easily be broken and battered. Her soul however is not, and burns with an unyielding ferocity that cannot be broken easily. This also means, that if the proper care is taken, Amari can be bought back from death multiple times. This can be achieved by placing a drop of blood on the runic birthmark on her lower back, just below her spine. (This technique should only be used thrice per thread) Once bought back, her body will heal to the point just before death. This can heal minor wounds,scratches and mend broken bones and tissue. It can heal even the deepest of wounds, but does not relieve her of pain.

Ar'Tuel Healing Lv:6
Amari is able to heal abrasions, burns, and bruises, broken bones and sinew. The deeper and more severe the wound. The more time she requires to heal. She is able to heal skin and muscle tissue, and major bone fractures. She's also able to cleanse various levels of decay, disease, plague, and corruption. She does this by gently touching the afflicted area with her hands, palms, or fingers - with the will and desire to heal the person.

At level 6 she is also able to affect the soul; she can heal large tears, holes, or cracks in a soul. In two posts, she is able to heal corruption, tears or holes in souls. This greatly drains her and she is unable to use any further Ar'Tuel abilities for the remainder of the thread.
Not for use in the Citadel

Due to the corruption of her soul she must take their pain upon herself. The pain she takes upon herself lasts 1-2 posts. Depending on the severity of the wound/s. If she heals souls, she will struggle to do much for 3-4 posts.


Ar'Tuel Accelerated Healing Lv:6
Now Amari is more familiar with the use of her magic and his capabilities she has learned how to heal herself. She is able to accelerate the healing process on her own injuries. This is unpractised and takes time and concentration. Duration: 1 post to heal minor burns,heals, wounds and abrasions, two posts to heal deep wounds, abrasions and broken/cracked bones. This is a very painful process for Amari due to the corruption in her soul

This can be used up to 6 times in a thread.



▼CORRUPTED AR'TUEL SOUL ABILITIES▼
Similar to Ar'Tuel Soul Abilities, however due to intense programming and torture, the polarity of her soul has switched from a peaceful healing soul to an angry, red, destructive soul. These abilities are haphazard and wild, having unpredictable results and repercussions both on herself and those around her.


Ar'Tuel Ruin Lv:6

Amari is able to implement wounds, abrasions, burns, and bruises. She is able to affect skin and muscle tissue, and break bone. She is also able to rot flesh and cause intoxication within the blood stream. She does this by gently touching the afflicted area with her hands, palms, fingers and skin to skin contact - with the will and desire to injure the person. She can break open their skin as though her fingers were like a knife, cause their skin to bubble, burn, etc.





At level six she can affect the blood flow and the heart, even causing death. If she causes the death of another she becomes very weak and is unable to use other Ar'Tuel soul abilities (with the exception of Rebirth) for the duration of the thread. Causing the death of someone by means of her magic renders Amari lightheaded and weak.





Due to the untapped and unpractised nature of her ability she must take the pain upon herself till she better learns how to control her soul magic. The pain she takes upon herself lasts 1-2 posts. Depending on the severity of the wound/s she inflicts.

Her ability cannot cause death in the Citadel

Past to Present: Recall
Amari is able to force someone to relive a moment she has experienced as though they were experiencing it themselves. These moments could be ones of lust, happiness or great pain. Whomever the person is will experience the memory in its entirety and will also experience the physical sensations of it.

To do this she needs to have both palms on each side of the persons head and she needs to concentrate on the memory. If her concentration is interrupted, the skill is interrupted too.

This skill leaves no physical wounds. It is primarily used as mental torture or to relay important information to others quickly and efficiently.

This can be used up to five times per thread, as long as the total memory recall time does not exceed 5 hours.


Soul Bound Tentacles
Amari, after having become quite practised in her abilities is able to manifest her soul’s abilities in the form of four glowing tentacles that extend from her back and act as though they are tentacles These whips are golden if she is using her Ar'Tuel magic and red if she is using corrupted Ar'Tuel magic. She can use these whips with a radius of 25 feet.

They have the same capabilities as her *soul magic. However, if she uses them to kill a person she is unable to use any Ar'Tuel related soul magic for the rest of the thread, (with the exception of rebirth) She can use this ability a total of 7 times during a thread. If she uses the four whips on four different people at the same time this counts as 4 uses due to the concentration being on four people.

These tentacles are ethereal and cannot pick up things; because they are ethereal they are able to pass through non-enchanted armour and skin. They move at 1.5 times the speed of a regular human.

The ability to cause death cannot be used in the Citadel

Indomitable Will
Amari has always been incredibly stubborn and wilful. That has only grown since she has been forced under Lichensith Ulroke’s ‘care’ She is very resilient and extremely strong willed. She is not easily swayed or controlled. She is able to resist most mind controlling substances and magics as well as physical programming. She can resist mind control abilities and techniques that are below her current level. WIth great difficulty she has the possibility to fall under the sway of abilities that match her level, but be able to fight it. Abilities above her level, she falls sway to.

Noble Commerce
Learning more and more about her noble background and with the push of Lichensith Amari has taken over the L'Olfsden Estate, and is slowly spreading her control to other noble provinces. Her knowledge on the matter is growing.
This ability gives Amari 10% extra Gold gain per thread

Astral Form
As Amari is an ethereal being she can leave her body. She can use her Ar'Tuel Ruin ability and Souls Sway ability in this form, at level 6 she is unable to interact with physical objects in the world, only living beings and entities. She can stay in this form for 2 hours before she feels weakened and needs to return to her body. If her body is injured she will immediately be thrown back into her body. Amari can always find her physical body due to a chain that connects her ethereal form to her physical form. She can use this ability twice per thread.

A few crows from Lichensith Ulroke's flock broke away from his service to instead serve Amari due to her kindness toward the creatures. There are 9 in total who keep a watchful eye on her. They are not always with her, nor do all of them always follow her. These crows are normal birds, they do however listen to Amari when she issues them simple orders such as relaying messages to the Crimson Hand. Their names are:

L’Olfsden, is a noble family nestled in the upper class residencies of Salvar. She has a father, older brother and deceased mother. Her mother had multiple complications throughout her pregnancy with Amari, and when she was born, her mother died. It was assumed that she was not The Duke’s daughter, judging by her appearance, it appeared that her mother had bed another man. Unbeknownst to anyone, the ‘other man’ was a powerful wandering spirit whom had begged her mother to take shelter within her; and to become an unborn child. Amari’s soul burns brightly, a millennia old being with no current memories of her origins or past.

Her red hair and her central heterochromia eyes granted her the namesake ‘cursed child of sin;. As such she was treated as an eyesore - and a chore by her father. At a young age it was discovered that she could wield a very weak magic known as flowermancy. Her skill was beaten out of her, and Amari never got the chance to grow or nurture her gift. She has other various magic abilities, but they are untamed, unknown.

Although she bore the ire of her father, she lived a relative life of luxury at a younger age. She was denied an education, but her older brother, be it out of pity or a sense of family duty, taught her to read and write. Her brother never shared the same sentiments as her father, and often went out of his way to treat her as part of the family, until he came of age - at that point. He was given an ultimatum by the father, desist his familiar relationship with Amari, or forgo the family name and fortune - and be treated as an outcast, just as she. Her brother. Lamont chose family notoriety and fortune. His decision broke Amari’s heart, he was the only one close to her.


Amari was forbidden to leave the family estate, it did not stop her taking long strolls around the estate perimeter. This small act of rebellion is what caught the attention of bandits. Seeing a young girl of noble birth away from any sort of guards or protection - it made sense to kidnap her and hold her for ransom.

Just shy of her 18th birthday Amari was told by her father that she were to prepare to leave, for the Church of the Etheral Sway were going to be taking care of her henceforth. Amari, not being well read knew little of the church, its teachings or its rumours and history. Despite this, she was not pleased, and that night - chose to break her fathers strict ruling about leaving the safety of the family owned land.

During her night time stroll outside the estate she was jumped, knocked unconscious, bound, and gagged. The bandits held her for ransom.Her father being a cheap man - would never have paid to have her ‘disposed of’ to send her off to the church, or to have her kidnapped and regrettably killed. Either one got rid of her so this was just gratuitous circumstance in his eyes.

Being a lost cause, the bandits had planned to have their way with her, one was unnerved by the ferocity in her eyes - and how the gold hues that surrounded her iris’ almost seemed to be alight with fury. Amari used this to her advantage, making up tales of how she was diseased, plagued, and its why no one would touch her - and why her father would rather have her gone. This didn’t stop one man from trying. However, he had chosen to eat a very toxic concoction of berries the night before, and not long after attempting to bed her - he fell ill and died. Rumours spread like wildfire and she was left untouched. Not having to want to waste the entirety of their efforts the bandits kept Amari there as a slave. Doing menial tasks such as cooking, cleaning, housework, even bathing the bandits.

Soon, they had her accompanying them, against her will on a variety of raids, cartels, and smuggling.

During her time here, she picked up a variety of skills such as lockpicking, and pickpocketing.

Age 23-26 WIP

At Age 25 the bandits began to delve into slave trading, their first captive was a young Fae boy named Fenn. Amari instantly develops a rapport with him, assuming he is a young child. However, soon she realises he is a grumpy middle aged Fae man. Still, she assists in his escape, which only further barred her own. The bandits reinforced her quarters, and ensured she was always chained up after she allowed him to escape.

After rounding up more slaves, part of the bandit troupe head toward Knife's Edge where a renowned brothel resides. There, Amari encounters Aurelianus.


Shinsou Vaan Osiris rescued her at the age of 25 from the bandits. He happened upon them whilst relentlessly hunting for slavers. He took Amari in, and the two grew close. He guided her toward a Brothers encampment on the edge of Corone. Amari slowly began to fall for him, but was afraid of showing her emotions, she could see how set he was on finding Slavers - and growing stronger. One time, during an extended trip away. One of the brothers members tried to force himself upon Amari, and in the end - was killed. Another member, jealous of her relationship with Shinsou tricked her into believing that Shinsou was nothing more than a playboy, and because Amari had yet to put out - he was bored of her, which is why he had grown distant. Amari was convinced that Shinsou would have her head.

Heartbroken and afraid, she wrote Shinsou a letter outlining her adoration, love and respect for him - and her own cowardice for not wanting to die by his hand. She left it in a place she thought he would find it - and ran away.

At age 27, after having abandoned the Brotherhood of the Castigars; Amari finally settled down in the slums of rubbletown. Her vibrant, crimson hair tied up in a messy bun and hidden by a soiled cloth. Avoiding attention where possible was not only preferable, but necessary for survival. Her busty chest bound with cloth and rope - to avoid the ever searching eyes of the slave traders. Being a noble, and closeted to the finer pleasures of life, Amari was of virgin blood. An oddity at her age to be sure. She has spent the last 3 years here, scrounging for food, talking her away around the rare hot meal and warm bed, and avoiding any serious trouble.


Alas...


Amari with her sharp tongue, defiance and stubbornness often finds herself in some form of trouble or turmoil within the slums. She has an odd sense of justice, often siding with the underdog, or whomever she feels is ‘right’ at the time. Regardless of their moral ground.

Her obstinate nature and sharp tongue had saved her life the day she met Lichensith Ulroke, he immediately took an interest in her and spared her life. Death may have been the better option. Taking her as his personal ward and project the assassin began placing her through gruelling physical and mental pain. A form of ‘therapy’ He allowed Aurelianus to experiment on her, and performed his own equally gruelling and taxing ones upon her.

Being beaten, bruised, and bought back from death took its toll on Amari. It caused the polarity of her soul to shift and crack; now; she’s bound to Lichensith. She serves not only under him, but beside him. Vowing to keep him in check and ensure he doesn't repeat the mistakes of his past.


A darkness swells within her soul, growing each day, once a shimmering Ar'Tuel soul becoming twisted and corrupted.

Hey Mari, that's one nice looking profile you have there. Because you've put down "-Not for use in the Citadel" after some of your abilities, it makes it hard to judge the strength of the abilities. Normally there is some leeway in threads when it comes to determining the strength of your character. You might push your abilities a bit further and write things that wouldn't be allowed in a competitive thread.

Can you write your abilities to describe what you are limited to in a citadel/competitive thread?

Past admins have just said that the ability simply cannot be used to cause an immediate death in the citadel or competitive threads. Or to revive in the citatdel/comp threads. The abilities in question haven't changed from previous accepted profiles.

I have never gone into a citadel so do not know the exact standings on what is and ins't allowed in there, could you direct me to a thread that shows these rules so I can explain what they'd do in the scenario?

-Ar Tuel Revival: As explained above, she simply cannot randomly revive in a citadel fight.

her other abilities can cause various wounds, as explained in their ability allocations - but at a great deal of suffering and pain to Amari, some of the mcan cause death - (usually only iwth NPCS) but, as a precaution I was asked to place the disclaimers re: the citadel to ensure it wouldn't be used against a PC, not that I ever would off a PC without permission, still, I understand and abide by any precautions set out.

Sorry to step in all of a sudden. I just want to make it absolutely clear that any abilities marked as "not for use in the Citadel" are also unusable in competitive threads of any nature.

Also, it has been pointed out to me that when I last approved your update, I forgot to ask how strong and how fast your tentacles are. I would be grateful if you clarify that for Hysteria for this level up. :)

Thanks Shin, Mari can you add in how fast/strong your Soul Bound Tentacles are? For example, can they smash bone, or just superficial damage?

Strength is a bit of an odd one since they're etheral so they can pass through most things, I'd imagine they wouldn't be able to pass through enchanted items of course; added that they mvoe at around 1.5 times the speed of a normal person.

Edit: we sent replies at the same time, they most certainly can break bone; I can change it if need be - I've had a few Rps where she has broken through/smashed bone before but that was with NPCs so hopefully that was ok.
