Appearance
-Vidaen is has the general shape of a human though warped by the magic. He stands a minor four feet tall and is extremely thin even in proportion to his height. He has little muscle on him; his arms are stick like appendages ending in strangely long and delicate fingers, larger even than normal humans, while the rest of his body is small such as that of an undernourished child. His face is gaunt with hollow cheeks and deep set eyes, the eyes are almost feverishly bright and a burning orange, and his hair is actually strands of bone making it extremely stiff and slow growing. His skin is extremely pale with an extremely intricate design of barely visible red lines on it. The red lines are such that when under stress they brighten and become extremely visible, mapping out his entire network of veins, with a highest concentration of lines in his hands and going to his eyes.
Skills
-Mental Weapon: Vidaen has a powerful psyche, making his mind one of his greatest weapons. He is able to stretch his consciousness and interact with those nearby him, though he can affect no more than two at a time. As every mind has a small natural defense, he must break through this in order to get at them and his level of success from there determines how much he can do. A person with almost no defense would be unable to resist him and may lose control of their body at the conscious level, he won’t be stopping hearts at this point. Someone with a weak defense would have difficulty moving, while a stronger defense would have delayed reactions, and a powerful defense would block him entirely. Lesser beings such as animals and plants are almost defenseless against him and even their subconscious commands like breath or heartbeats can be stopped.
Magic
-Duplicate: If Vidaen allows a spell to strike him and is prepared for it, he will gain the knowledge necessary to perform the spell himself. This of course, depends on his being able to survive being struck, and the spell being within his capabilities.
-Personnel Shield: Vidaen resorts to this for protection from both physical and magical attacks, though it drains him greatly. While he is capable of sustaining a full bubble around himself, it would only last for mere seconds and nearly kill him. Made smaller and placed only on something, like his head, it could last much longer without too severe of energy drain. Attacks on the shield won’t be completely blocked but instead deflected, however the more powerful and difficult to deflect the attack the more it drains him.
Vidaen
-Vidaen does not function as normal life does. He does not need to consume any form of sustenance, not even air, and as such many of the common organs do not exist within him. Aside from his heart and brain, the only other organ that he cannot live without is located where his right lung would normally be, which functions purely to generate heat so his blood doesn’t drop below 190 degrees Fahrenheit. While some races are made far stronger than their natural limits by inherent magic, Vidaen is not so fortunate. His body is slightly weaker than that of a similarly sized child.
History
-Vidaen is himself an experiment, an artificial being created without purpose. The basis for his being was to examine how much magic it would take to saturate a being and for it to still live. Vidaen’s mother is an elf, as elves are the most naturally magical of the races, and was magically impregnated without a father, and then continually imbued with magic during the course of her pregnancy. In lieu of a normal birth, Vidaen emerged as an egg during an early stage in pregnancy and then further developed as the egg grew and absorbed more and more magic. When at last the egg hatched, Vidaen emerged fully formed and completely self-aware. Fearing him, the researched abandoned him to Althanas with the intent to study him from afar.
