However, because he is young he still young and unfamiliar with the commoner’s world, he has much to discover about the workings of men and the dark side of the world. His foremost characteristic is his determination. With his sister possibly still out in the world and his throne to reclaim, Sol refuses to let anything stop him, whether it be a harsh winter, hunger, or an overly powerful foe.

A leather belt wraps around grayish brown pants. The legs of these pants are tucked into a pair boots which extend up to the middle of his shins and buckle at the top. At his side hangs a scabbard which houses his main source of protection. His hands are protected with dark brown gauntlets made of tanned leather.
History: In the world of Althanas, the nation of Sauri won its independence from neighboring countries a little over 170 years ago thanks to the first Thaddeus Dralmagon. It was he who gathered the people under his noble house and led the peasantry and the noblemen alike to victory, thus setting the seeds for their future freedom and prosperity.
Generations later, Thaddeus Dralmagon VI was born as the heir to the throne of his father and mother, the King and Queen Dralmagon V. Ten years after his birth, the Queen bore another child, his sister, Esmeralda. Together, Thaddeus and Esmeralda were raised with the finest tutors Sauri could offer. As Thaddeus grew, the King and Queen were content in knowing that their country would be led by the finest man Sauri had ever seen.
However, when Thaddeus was 15, an age-old jealousy changed Thaddeus’ life forever. For generations, the noble Brautschein family had felt that they were most worthy of ruling the Sauri kingdom, that they had truly led rebellion years ago, and that the Dralmagon lineage was too restrained in its ruling of Sauri. The Brautschein’s saw more potential in its power, perhaps the possibility of turning the Sauri kingdom into the Sauri Empire.
The head of the Brautschein house, Damien Brautschein, told the people of his visions for a stronger, larger, and richer Sauri than the one under Dralmagon rule and with a year’s planning led a coup. Thaddeus could hardly believe his eyes as he saw former friends and his people break down the doors of his castle, could hardly believe his ears as he heard loyal guards brutally beaten to the floor with clubs, and nearly choked on the smell of fresh blood being spilled on the polished floors. Damien Brautschein made quick work of the King and Queen, holding their heads up high for all the people to see. As the carnage swarmed towards Thaddeus’ and Esmeralda’s quarters, Thaddeus made quick use of the secret passageway underneath his bed made for emergency situations. Taking his sister’s hand, they followed the passageway to safety outside the castle walls, but the grounds were littered with rebels on the lookout for any who dared to escape or assist the Dralmagon’s. Fortunately, one family of servants remained loyal to their father and mother and hurriedly put them into their wagon to speed them away from danger. They did not escape the notice of Damien’s men and a chase soon followed. The chase continued onto bumpy roads, making it hard to stay still in the wagon as their servants forced their horse to go faster. A large bump in the road tossed Thaddeus over the side. His sister quickly grabbed hold of his hand, holding on as hard as she could. However, her delicate fingers lost their grip, and Esmeralda was forced to watch as her older brother slipped away from her, taking her glove as he fell onto the road, rolling down the hillside into a roadside river.
Thaddeus couldn’t remember what happened after that, due to his being violently tossed about in the cold darkness of the river. He awoke later to find himself alone and far into the countryside of Sauri. He trekked along the riverside, careful to stay away from the road lest any traitor see him. Luckily, the only people who saw him were one of the few loyalists who quickly took him inside and offered him shelter. However, he could not stay long for Damien’s followers were desperately searching for him and his sister. They offered him a sword to protect himself and what little money they could offer. Thaddeus could already see what he had to do to survive: he would have to exile himself from Sauri until the time was right to return and take back his kingdom and get his revenge on the one who betrayed and murdered his mother and father.
Before leaving his homeland, Thaddeus searched the border for any sign of his sister, but all he had in the end was the silk glove which slipped from his sister’s hand along with him. Unsure of whether she was alive or not, Thaddeus turned his back on his country and left, determined that she was somewhere safe and that some day he would find her.
Skills:
Archery-Able to use a bow with average skill, thanks to royal instructors, but has no eagle eye
Swordsmanship-Better with a blade than a bow, but due to lack of actual combat experience, Sol could most likely not defeat a battle-worn warrior
Dragon Fang-The only real magic Sol knows at the moment. Sol blesses his blade, sharpening its edge considerably and giving it the ability to pierce thick steel. However, due to his lack of training, this effect lasts only a minute (2 posts, one for casting, one for using), forcing him to end the fight quickly lest his trump card go to waste.
Melee-Sol has basic self defense training and could probably knock out the common man, but wouldn’t do well against a trained martial artist of any level above introductory student.
Equipment:
Mascau-A basic double-edged sword given to him by a kind family loyal to the Dralmagons. It is 40 ¼” long, the blade length at 33”.
White, silk, girl’s glove-The only thing he has left of his sister’s, he keeps in on his person at all times in his search for her.
