Personality: Ayano has a happy personality and a usually upbeat look on life. She is well mannered, but not so good at hiding her emotions. The cat-girl is the kind of person that’ll help a guy out of the mud and if he insults her, will shove him back in. She can be a little shy sometimes, and enjoys the company of animals a little more than sentient beings. Sometimes the neko can act a little immature, since she is missing a huge chunk of her teenage life. For the most part she can act her age.
Appearance: Ayano has hip length hair that she never ties back. Her face has a sunny complexion that shows her day long dose of sunlight. She has high cheek bones and almond shaped eyes that give her a feline look. However she has small but full lips that are less exotic looking. The cat-girl’s ears are always perked up, and her tail swaying happily. Most often her companion, Beako, is found sitting on the top of her head between her ears. The neko has the image of a golden sword imprinted on her left palm; it is usually hidden by black fingerless gloves.
Clothes: Ayano wears a slightly blue, white cotton long sleeved shirt, partly covered by a dark brown leather vest. Her pants are black, and she wears them tucked into knee high brown leather boots. The boots are the same leather as the vest, and are slightly clunky. Amidst all the straps, she hides two four inch long daggers. She also hides two six inch ones up her sleeves, tied to the inside of her forearms with brown cloth.
Skills:
Bo- Ayano is an efficient bo fighter. She combines these skills with some hand to hand combat moves.
Shard Sense- The cat-girl can feel it when she is close to a shard of The Sword. When she touches one, she can contact all of the past workings done with the shard. (This won’t be used in battles or any competitions, only to further the plot line of Ayano’s life.)
Cat Advantage- Ayano has some advantages that come from being part cat. She has a sharper sense of smell, eyesight in the dark, hearing, and balance than normal humans. The cat-girl can also transform into a tiny black cat six inches high at the shoulders. In this form, she is speedy but can do next to no damage.

Bo- Ayano’s bo staff is made of hardened wood, and it stands four inches above her own head (not including the cat ears). A two foot long steel blade can spring from each end when she presses it in a secret spot.

Familiars: Ayano’s familiar is named Beako. It has about a two cm long radius and is spherical in shape. Beako is blue, with a tiny white patch on its stomach. It has large blue eyes and a yellow beak. It’s wings are small and pretty much useless. Beako can float, but not very high. However, if dropped from a large height he can float down to the ground. Beako can carry around two pounds worth of objects without a change in size. Any more than two pounds, and he begins to spew up previously stored items. In this case, most of that two pounds is Beako’s snacks. The minute animal is relatively intelligent, and is very aware of Ayano and her emotions. Sadly Beako can do barely anything when it comes to protecting his friend.

Ayano came from another world. Her father was an important figure in her country’s court. When the Duke decided to marry a neko, hell was raised. The general population did not want a cat-person to have any sort of claim to the throne. They thought that a neko would only think of his/her own peoples needs and forget about the humans entirely. They also knew that there was a prophecy. According to it, two people would produce the child that would find the legendary sword. Since the description of the parents fir the Duke and his wife so fittingly, the people through a fit.
Ayano was her parents’ first born, and a cat-girl to the public’s dismay. On the night of Ayano’s tenth birthday, a mob of countrymen made a vicious attack on the fort. Having placed the majority of his own army alongside the king’s to prepare for battle with a neighboring nation, the fort stood little chance. As the angry mob stormed the castle, the Duchess gathered the nearest thing to a sorceress to her and asked for something to save her child. So, the amateur brought up a spell that would transport the little girl to another town. Because the woman was so ill trained not only did she accidentally steal away eight years of Ayano’s life, but as the makeshift soldiers poured in around her, she transported the child to another world. In the meantime she also managed to make the sword follow Ayano into the other world, and made it shatter into many pieces. The Duchess was not happy.
Ayano’s consciousness awoke slowly and groggily. She could feel the sun on her face, and see its light from behind her eyelids. The cat-girl sneezed as some grass tickled her nose, and sat up. Looking around her, all she could see was an expanse of bright green grass. She stood up, and tried to shake the sleep off of herself. The exercise revealed that her muscles were stiff, as if they had not been used for a long time. In fact, she asked herself, how long has it been since I fell asleep? Looking around anxiously she realized that she couldn’t remember. She couldn’t remember anything at all beyond waking up.
The cat-girl listened to the sounds around her, as if trying to gain a clue from her surroundings. Instead, she heard a muffled squeaking. Ayano turned around to see a brown cloth pack wrapped up in a brown cloak. Carefully, the girl unwrapped the pack and dusted it off. The squeaking sound was definitely coming from inside. The cat-girl fumbled with the catch for a moment before getting it open. From the moment she released the top, a tiny blue creature zoomed out of it and settled against her cheek. She giggled as it snuggled up against her, and then plopped itself upon her head in a very familiar way. Slowly Ayano felt a word come to mind, swimming through the blanket of amnesia that hid her past.
“Bik?” she asked it, “No, that’s not quite right. Birk? Beak?” the creature began to chirp “Beako?”
The thing flew into her hand and began to pulse. Ayano looked on, trying to decide whether she should be concerned or interested. Her question was soon set aside as an aged scroll appeared in her hand.
“Now what could this be?” she asked herself and unrolled the note.
She read it for a moment. Beako hovered near her ear as if reading over her shoulder. The note held an extremely brief paragraph about her past, and what had been sent along with her. It was signed “with love from mother”. Quite frankly, Ayano had no idea who her mother was. But, it had said something about a staff. The cat-girl could almost feel the wood in her hands, but it was nowhere to be found. With a sigh, she pulled the cloak from the ground up around her for it was getting cold. It revealed her bo. Ayano picked up the staff and twirled it experimentally. The wood felt very familiar in her hands, the fast paced exercises like natural movements.
“This is mine, alright.” commented the neko, but Beako was nudging the letter impatiently, egging her to read on.
“A sword?” asked Ayano “Why am I supposed to collect that?”
For this, Beako had no answer. It hovered unsurely as if to express its lack of knowledge, and then returned to its station on her head.
“It’s getting dark, Beako. We should head to the nearest town.”
It squeaked in agreement and they began to wander towards a bunch of lights off in the distance.
