Appearance: Maeve is a slender girl, with skin that is naturally slightly dark. She has some curves, and her traveling cloths often highlight that. When in town, Maeve often dresses in more loose clothing, far more comfortable relaxing than in tight cloth. She has a pretty face, if plain and unmarked. Her face tends to show what she is feeling rather easily, whether a large smile or a deep hurt. Her cloths tend to be simple, though on occasion dressing lavishly. Though often not deviating much from shirt and pants, she changes her wardrobe when she deems it necessary. She is also often seen with her bag, with a long leather strap that goes of her shoulder.

History

Magic is Corrupting. Magic is Powerful. Magic is Exponential.

These nine words essentially shaped Maeve's life as she was growing up. Her hometown Niven, though city would be a more accurate term, was very much a magically oriented place. Everything from the warm water is homes to the walls that protected the city from invaders took some form of magic in its upkeep and its creation. Whenever a child was born, they were quickly scanned for their magical talent, and placed with the appropriate family and part of town. There were several very large, prominent families in Niven, each tending to center around a different branch of magic. Due to the way things were handled, it was uncommon for children to grow up with their blood relatives, instead all of the children born within a certain time were put together into one family, to grow and learn together.

As they grew up, Maeve's talent for her particular branch of magic was slowly becoming known, as were every other child her age. Some of her friends began to show talent in white magic, while others found their calling in the elemental magic. Maeve on the other hand, found that necromancy was the magic the coursed through her veins. Despite the reputation taken by those outside of Niven, necromancers were as important to the self sufficient city as the gleaners, or farm mages. They began to hammer the lessons of Magic into the newest generation of magicians, even using force to make the children remember the nine words that made up Niven's creed.

It was not until Maeve was around her teenager years when the first actual magic began to show. She was something of a late bloomer, and began her start in magic a year or so later than the people she grew up with. Though her problems with controlling the tiny ebb of magic were minimal, and she quickly learned to control it. In Niven, accidently setting something on fire was considered worse than wetting the bed. More time passed, and Maeve showed herself to be rather good at her magic, also learning other necessary things for survival. These often included money management, as well as being able to identify when something is too powerful to fight.

Maeve reached the age of adulthood set by the city a little before most of her friends. Niven based adulthood on how quickly the child learns to control their magic at a certain level. Some of them never even managed to reach adulthood, but we taken from the group without a word. Maeve and the others guessed what happened to them, but often never thought much of it. Those same girls and boys were often sickly, and were probably taken for treatment. Maeve herself did not wish to leave her place at their magical school, instead wheedling her way into becoming employed by the school to perform field research outside of Niven. It was mainly an excuse for the girl to explore the outside world instead of spending her days breaking down trash or something equally boring. She stayed for some time before leaving, learning many of the major ways around some of the continents. She left, using a friend to teleport her close to the town of Radasanth with everything she'd need.

Items:
Ever Satchel: with an enchantment that allows far more than it could normally and weigh only ten pounds. Currently holds everything listed below. Has a topmost limit of somewhere around 100 pounds of things inside of it. Roughly a quarter full at the moment, and will not be sold.
Cloths: Several changes of traveling cloths and lesuire.
Rations: Enough for a couple days.
Notebook: A notebook to record her findings. Includes quill and ink.
Teleportation Stone: a stone that holds a single charge to return to Niven when Maeve has accumulated enough information to warrant the use of it. Will not be sold, as Niven does not have a get economy for trading.
Books: Currently holds several books on magical theory.
Chess board: Maeve is a big fan of the game, and keeps this board and pieces with her.

Magic

Blight: Currently the most amount of magic Maeve can do without very expensive reagents is also something of a unique one. She can introduce Blight into an object, making it begin to rot away. The Blight is most effective against dead items, such as bone, leather or hair, and when introduced into a living being corrupts and begins to actively deconstruct the body. It only takes a single touch, be it a grip or a slap to introduce the Blight. However, this is a slow process, only truly lethal if the Blight is introduced somewhere highly susceptible, such as an eye or on the skin above the heart. A curious side-effect of the blight is that white magic literally re-grows all parts deconstructed. Currently she can perform this limitless times per day, but finds it hard to go beyond several touches in an hour. Depending on where it is introduced, it could take anywhere from mere moments (Such as an eye) to hours (a foot) to corrupt the area. When introduced into an entire system, often by the neck, it sometimes has the effect of slowing the person done slightly, and will kill if they do not receive white magic after full day or so.

Traits/Skills:

Reading: Maeve is a quick reader, retaining much of what is read.
Physically Fit: She's in shape, and could be compared to an in shape cross-country runner in terms of stamina, though not terribly fast.
Intellect: Maeve is smart, and often can be relied upon to think her way around something rather than charge headlong into it.
Frail: Maeve is somewhat weaker than the average girl her age.

This looks fine but some minor touches are needed.

Could you put a limit on the Ever Satchel so you can't shove a million things inside?

Blight also needs a bit more detail. Perhaps explain some rates, e.g. it takes seven hours to rot away the skin on the affected area. Just explain it a bit more and I'm dandy with this.

Also, there are a few spelling mistakes here and there but nothing major. It'd be nice if you'd touch it up by spell checking.

After those three things you'll be sweet and you'll have to let her and Raelyse perform some magic together. ;-)

Added a 40 item limit to the Ever Satchel, added a general refrence for the Blight and fixeed a lot of spelling mistakes. Woo. Is that good?

I guess that's alright for Blight.

For the satchel though, a weight limit would be better. Sorry about being so anal but such things can fetch a pretty penny on selling if no limit is set.

It's okay, I didn't really know what you mean by that. And i've hopefully fixed it now. Added a weight limit and a "Will not sell" tag to it.

That's awesome. Thanks for the cooperation. You win a thread with Raelyse. ;) There will be oh so many romantic misunderstandings.
