Personality: Jack is a focused young man. He's got a decent sense of humor, though sometimes he stretches too far with his jokes and they fall flat. He has a kind spirit, though his adolescence prevents outright generosity and kindness. He feels very protective of his sister since it was mostly his idea to leave their comfortable life behind. He might be a bit naive, having grown up as he did, but he's a quick learner and doesn't show his confusion too often.
Appearance: Jack is a little on the lanky side. His dark hair is less than a half-inch long. His green eyes are bright and intelligent. His hands are big, his fingers long and dexterous. His muscles are more lean than bulky, but he's slightly stronger than your average 19 year old.
History:
Jack grew up in a sheltered fashion. He was the son of an up and coming governor who was too busy to take care of his own kids. Jack's parents meant well, but they had to place Jack and his younger sister, Sarah, under the guidance of a team of servants, tutors, and nannies. Jack and Sarah got along well, and even learned together where they could. Jack was five years her senior (six sometimes, if the month was right) and had more advanced academic studies (such as geography, calculus, and military strategy). He did, however, learn archery and horseback riding along his sister. They challenged each other to an extent, and grew closer for it. One of their caretakers, Caius, had relayed fantastic stories of action and adventure. The siblings had reenacted some of the more prominent battles during archery practice, imagining how they would've acted in certain tales.
One day, Jack couldn't tolerate the tedium of the easy life. He convinced his sister to follow him out into the world, starting with nearby Scara Brae, and try and live up to the tales of Caius. They saddled their horses, packed some food, clothes, and their bows, and headed out.
Skills:
Archery: Jack has moderate ability with a bow and arrow. He's usually capable of hitting stationary targets from even a good distance (75 yards), but he's never been in combat and has never tried firing at moving targets.
Horseback Riding: Jack knows the basics of riding as well as how to care for his animal. He can prep his mount and can also read the levels of fatigue in his steed. He knows how to carry himself in the saddle and has jumped several times before. He had good control over his own horse, though it might take him some time to learn how to guide others.

Yellow Yew Bow: Jack's bow is 4' in length. Its a bit springy, but is capable of propelling an arrow up to 300 yards (on a clear, windless day). The handle is wrapped with a dirty brown, used leather grip. Jack's hand fits comfortably around the wrapping.

Lily (Horse): Lily is a lithe, powerful creature. Her toned muscles ripple beneath her shiny brown fur. A patch of white hair rests on her left haunch, the only discrepancy among her tan-ish hide. She's not jumpy, but she's not particularly brave, either. She seems to like Jack.
