The Barons of War
Purpose: The purpose of the Barons of War can be explained simply, they have three goals;
1) They wish to acquire weapons and weapons related technology
2) They wish to sell weapons to buyers.
3) They wish to become very rich in the process.
Admission: This group intends to remain fairly secretive a. Currently, this group is open to anyone who gets an invite to join, and invites may be requested in a thread in the PG forum. However, this invitation must be accepted ICly before anyone is allowed to be a member. However, if the membership exceeds seven, membership is going to be restricted to invitations only on a very select basis. It is my hope that this group remains small.
Rules: OOC and IC rules are listed below
The IC Rules are as follows. Punishment for breaking them are essentially arbitrary and will be decided by the leaders.
1) In any conflict, weapons can only be sold to one side at a time.
2) When picking the side to supply weapons to, moral issues can be considered, but are not necessarily tantamount.
3) Members may not intentionally create or escalate conflicts. If conflicts are created or escalated as a result of weapons purchases, we are not responsible.
4) The Leader is supposed to be obeyed, except when he’s acting like an ass.
5) This group is not necessarily moral, but this group is not evil either. No one should go out of their way to cause undue harm to anyone under the banner of the Barons of War. That said, what members do on their own time is their own buisness.
6) Don't hurt the group or group members.
Here are the ooc rules. Breaking these will have ooc repercussions, such as being not allowed to go on events. If someone is a consistent rule breaker, they will be expelled from the group.
1) Obey all rules of Althanas.
2) Don’t do anything that makes this group look bad.
3) Don’t be an ass.
Financing: There is an official treasury for the Barons of War. Members are encouraged to contribute money. Certain promotions will require a donation to the treasury. Since this is a new group, if the group goes belly up soon after it has begun, I will return all donations.
Benefits: As membership in this group grows, the access into the corridors of power in Althanas and access to weaponry will increase. Currently, the only member of the group is Djakara Fraye, and as a result, the only government the group has access to is Alerar.
Ranks: There ranks are as follows.
1) Leaders: People who have the ultimate responsibility are considered leaders of the group. Currently, there is only one, Djakara. Other leaders may be recruited with time. To be a leader, one must have donated 1000 GP. There may only be an odd number of leaders, in case majority decision-making is required for a leader. This position may also rotate among qualified candidates.
2) Barons: These people are considered full fledged members capable of inviting others to join the group by themselves, as long as the group has less than 5 members. Becoming a Baron requires a donation of 300 GP and an invitation from the leader. If the group has more than 5 members, there must be a unanimous decision among all Barons and Leaders.
3) Other guys: These are people who have not been invited to become barons, or people who have been invited and would rather not pay 300 GP. They are a welcome part of the group, but they have little say over decision making.
