As agreed with Cyrus, I am submitting my Level 1 profile (experience earned before the crash).

-------------------------------------

Name: Canen Darkflight
Age: 127 (Has ceased ageing)
Race: Nocturnian (See history)
Class: Swordsman / Mage
Alignment: Neutral

Description:

Canen is 127 human years old, but due to the preservatives in his Nocturnian blood, he has been able to preserve his youthful state and appears to be of a middle aged appearance. His skin is smooth and slightly paler than the Caucasian shade, a trait known to have appeared in the Nocturnian evolution process due to the lack of natural light in their old realm. His eyes shine and glow an enticing emerald green, set into a high cheekboned but slim face. The hair is thick, matted and tangled jet black strands that tumble down his back to arms length and has stopped growing.

His attire has changed from the old all black look, and has recently adapted to something with a little colour to help him forget the darkness of his past. A crimson, long sleeved cloth undershirt with a black, sleeveless robe worn over it consists of the upper attire. Around his neck and over his shoulders he wears a think red cape that stretches three quarters of the way down his back and stops just at the rim of his boots, decorated with hand sewn black Nocturnian runes. His hands are protected by thin brown leather gauntlets, fingerless, that have sleeves stretching just short of the elbow.

His lower attire is a simple pair of deep crimson cloth pantaloons and a pair of sturdy, shin high black leather boots buckled up with silver straps and black lace.

Weapon: The Valiance

The Valiance is Falcon's first choice weapon, and has been since the age of 12 when he first acheived his Trea status in the Nocturnian Realm. It is a superbly balanced basic broadsword that he forged out of Volak (a metal alloy with good endurance and lightweight characteristics), about a metre and a half in length and 10 centimetres in blade width. Obviously the blade is double edged as well. Although it looks quite heavy to swing, it is suprisingly lightweight and it is the only blade Falcon will use in battle. It has no magical properties or skills embedded.

Personality:

Canen is a mysterious man. His attitude is a somewhat pesimistic but courteous one, a sceptical man who is bound by honour more than alignment, which is thought to be a thought pattern linked with his dramatic past. Although his silence and dark sarcasm sometimes masks his thoughts, the few friends he does have stick to him and get on with him well. When angered, Canen will show his more vicious side and becomes far more determined to overcome obsticles.

Magic: Dark Matter

The Dark Matter spell is one of Falcon's special spells, formed from the awakened cells of his Icarus Blood. The spell was first discovered during the Castigar War, a period of unrest between three or four separate clans. Falcon and his subordinates were on the battlefield, leading a charge into the Castigar Numbers. Suddenly, the rush created by his body awakened his Icarus magic source, an element fuelled by vengeance and determination.

It involves the creation of a sphere of dark gravitational forces, combined with the negative cat-ions of the Icarus magic source that infuses itself into an orb. The orb can either then be cast towards the opponent. If the orb strikes the opponent, the damage can be quite effective, depending on the amount of charge implemented into the attack.

Magic: Needle Tempest

Needle Tempest is Falcon's original magic, formed from Blue Nocturn magic. This magic source is very different to the Eclipse source, as Falcon does not need to be positively or negativly charged in any way. When cast, it begins to rain and the temperature significantly drops below freezing, causing the droplets to form solid ice particles. The wind then picks up and shapes the particles into thin, sharp needles that are then caught up an a small wind cyclone. Anything caught up in it's path is in severe danger of being slashed by these razor sharp implements. The drain on the source, however, is quite significant and because of this cannot be used too often.

Sword Proficiency:

It is customary of all Nocturnian children to be brought, from the age of 3 years, to the status of 'trea' by the age of 11 years. 'Trea' in Nocturnian means "to be fit" or "to be ready", a term closely associated with the sword practice that all warriors of the realm were expected to be brought up with. Usually it takes 8 or so years for a child to be treated as trea in Nocturnian society but Canen's exceptional skill from a young age meant he had mastered the basics and intermediate skills after 5 years. Techniques were learnt underneath a tutor or guide, in this case Canen's superior officer Ardemis Atremeas, and were completed on a day to day basis.

After a further 5 years of training "post-trea", Canen had learnt almost everything he needed to know. His balance, timing and eye for detail was described by Ardemis as "remarkable" for such a minor. This perseverance and discipline continued in his later years and to this day remains the most feared aspect of his fighting style. Although hardly invincible, Canen's skills with a sword are very focused, very sharp and are rarely off. This, coupled with his strength, can cause a lightly armoured or unprotected foe a large number of problems, although magic users tend to still hold the upper hand.

Black Widow:

After the infamous battle in which he had met the geomancer Luc Kraus, Canen realised that swordplay alone was not enough to overcome his opponents. Luc had been smarter and more resourceful than him and the Nocturn had blamed his defeat on his inability to be flexible, realising that long range magic would always have the upper hand on him. This frustrating fact left him to think about new ways of developing his skills. His solitude during the period of his recovery from the parasite had left him enough time to further develop his weak magical abilities and it was only a matter of time before he struck upon his latest discovery, a useful spell he had dubbed "The Black Widow".

Using an unorthadox Nocturnian spell, Canen can cast a curse against an opponent of flesh and bone which attacks the nervous system. The magic is cast in a blanket, similar in appearance to a thin black membrane of a cell, that can vary in size. If this membrance touches the skin of a living person it will slow down their reaction times, causing the muscles of the body to become numbed, making it difficult for a person to make a quick movement.

Casting "Black Widow" does not require a great deal of energy but cannot be cast in succession.

Icarus Bloodline

It is a known fact that the black blood of a Nocturn is highly toxic to most but its own species. Elements in the cells of the blood can conflict with cells in the bloodstream of another (especially reactive in human and elven bloodlines) and cause a serious bout of poisoning. Whilst the chances of mixing bloodtypes are slim, it is advised that an ally carry an antidote at all times in the event of accidental infection. Known effects have been vomiting, nausea and dizziness and blurred vision.

History:

Canen has no immediate blood family left alive in a realm that had sought the destruction of his people for so long. His only link with his past is contained and embodied in his best friend and fellow Nocturnian brethren Gideon Xerxes, though it is suspected by Canen that he is currently under the influence of a sort of madness that has never been witnessed in a living creature before. It was true that the constant battling and the pain of war had finally caused both Nocturnians to reconsider their ways of life. While a self inflicted, consuming insanity devoured one, anger and hatred consumed the other…

Canen had fallen prey to a parasite, created by his impure soul, which had fed and survived solely on his anger and torn memories alone. The pain of losing his entire people and the long lasting effects of his internal affliction for humans had been the fuel, and the still burning flames of The Castigar War the fire. Eventually the parasite had fed on so much emotion that it had become a living limb, latching onto the memories and mind of its Nocturnian host to use him as a personal temple for its own survival needs. Many people were killed during the period of time this beast had been let loose on the world, razing villages to the ground and murdering innocents in the name of its host to feed its ceaseless hunger for destruction. Other surviving villages and towns had blamed Canen for the destruction, claiming he had gone mad and was ready to make the ultimate sacrifice for darkness.

Eventually the Nocturnian took the battle internally and began to fight back, gaining control piece by piece, taking any ground he could to release the dark and tight grip of this persistent monstrosity. In a desperate attempt to prevent Canen from liberating his body, the shadow parasite sealed him away in stasis underneath a thick slab of crystal in Karak and left him to slowly die.

It wasn’t long before Kaiserin Nightwind, daughter of the infamous Silvet Kaiser, stumbled across the tomb and released the Nocturnian prisoner. After being trapped underneath the crystal seal for almost a decade the beast had starved itself of destruction, believing that its host would share the same fate, and simply dropped off of the Nocturnian’s liberated body and faded into ash. Canen made a full recovery.

Canen and Kaiserin got on well, the elder Nocturnian swordsman and former Red Dragon leader viewing Kaiser’s daughter with a somewhat surprising amount of affection and a kind of unconditional love unseen by his friends and those who knew him, whilst Kaiserin respected her father’s best friend for his skill and reputation. Canen swore he would never let his anger control him again and swore to protect his Silvet friend’s kin. But there was still nothing that could ever separate the Nocturnian from his memories of his brethren, The Fallen Angel Gideon Xerxes…

Canen and Gideon are the two closest of the surviving Nocturnians. In fact, though it cannot be proven, it had been suspected that the two warriors were actually true flesh and blood. This however was merely down to speculation by those who had seen the two warriors fighting together side by side. One inspired and motivated the other, each striving to keep the other alive at any cost. They were always closer than family had could always rely on each other to get a job done quickly, efficiently and with the minimum amount of loss. They were professionals, but they were brothers in a world growing cold and war torn. Their growing and developing fighting styles reflected their completion of the ‘other half’, so to speak.

As they grew up and struggled through the darker years of The Castigar War, they came to rely on each other more than they thought. Canen and Gideon found that their souls could even sense if the other was in danger, and on many occasions this proved to be a useful insight into their personalities.

Though this form of bond does allow each to have a greater insight into the others’ thoughts and feelings, unfortunately, due to Gideon's slow descent into madness, Canen sometimes fears that his counterpart’s arrival will awaken a dormant cell of anger in his bloodstream. He hates the fact that his beloved brethren has been psychologically tortured all of his life, and can’t reclaim his vengeance.

Canen used the willpower the Silvet’s daughter granted him to quell the anger he had held inside, granting him control of his body and mind. With his anger behind him, and a new pathway of opportunities spread before him, the Nocturnian ventured forth to seek a new life. One of passion, one of learning and one of freedom. Something he had not had a chance at emulating since the days of Nocturnis…

Profile now pretty much complete. If need be, I will correct my history a little later on but for now it should suffice.

Please judge and let me know if updates are ok. I spoke to Cyrus the other day regarding restoring my previous level 1 status and he verbally agreed it with me, so in the event of any query please speak with him.

Thanks.
