Name: Girion
Race: Human
Age/Weight/Height/Hair: Found in Profile.

Personality:

Quiet, cool demeanor. Usually keeps to himself and blends into most areas well. People tend to be unsettled when they meet him primarily because he says very little and has a penetrating gaze that sees into their souls. Keen senses sharpened by years in the military and a knack for tracking criminals.

Appearance:

Grizzled brown hair with clear dark eyes that see much. He is nondescript and plain in face, the best features for blending into the background. This has been useful for him from time to time. Has a crooked grin that puts people at ease despite his curiously serious eyes. A tall, lanky man, Girion speaks little, feeling his actions speak louder. He usually dresses in plain clothing: a jerkin and leggings for warmth, steel breastplate for protection, and a dark cloak for blending in. Girion has a special aura that many do not see but feel his presence when he wishes it to be known. Mostly, though, he tends to stay in the background and continue observing the interplay of words, movements, and emotions that is sentient life.

History:

Girion, Son of Sol, was born and raised in a land called Lytton in a world alien to Althanas. However, he is still human, although the means of how he arrived in Althanas are peculiar. Girion was a quiet boy even at a young age, his parents worrying that he would never fit in. This image was one he constructed about himself for many years until he was a grown man. In his native country of Lytton, it was natural for all young men of age to join the military after training in the War College for several years. The government was totalitarian under a monarch who allowed no opposition. Here Girion learned culture, mathematics, science, history, and other disciplines. He was eventually taught the use of a blade as well for practical use as a soldier. After being drafted into the 54th Infantry Unit of the Lytton Army, he fought in many battles to defend his country from invaders and oppressing forces. The country of Lytton also had its eye on expanding into enemy territory to the west and south. His skills grew tenfold during these skirmishes, rising to become a respected knight-general, only five ranks below Force Commander.

As he became more involved in the army, Girion learned of several plans to take over other countries' lands by force, subterfuge, or other means. As a young child, he had always been taught a moral code by which he stood as a soldier and general. Nothing was less dishonorable than defeating an enemy using spies and poison in battle. After learning of his next assignment in the Desert Kingdom of Savanya, he decided to resign and leave the military for good. His career as a soldier was over. However, the generals would not let him leave so easily, especially for such a talented leader. The Force Commander sensed a defection from Girion, so as punishment they reassigned him to a wasteland in the far north near the arctic poles called Girig-Tar. Here he was commanded to take his battalion of 3,000 men into a small ghost-town called Durroth's Pass. His fate would be decided there as the town had constantly been suspected of hiding the rebel forces fighting against the King of Lytton. Girion was to flush them out and arrest the leader, Belladon. Unknown to Girion, the commanders had already made a deal with the rebels to kill Girion by reinforcing the rebels with 5,000 loyal Lytton soldiers.

Girion was walking into a trap.

As luck would have it, Girion surrounded the town with his cavalry and infantry forces, positioning several troops of archers on hilltops overlooking the pass. Due to his careful, strategic planning, he was able to slaughter hundreds of rebels and loyal soldiers. However, his men were confused upon seeing the emblem of Lytton upon some enemy soldiers' breastplates. In this confusion, the rebels gained ground and seized control of one hill from Girion. Slowly, Girion was pushed into the town of Durroth's Pass, surrounded on all sides by loyal and rebel soldiers. In desperation, Girion set a vanguard of soldiers in the town square, trying to find a way out. After giving command to his Lieutenant, Girion stole away when night fell to see if he could find a hole in the enemy's positions. It was then that he stumbled into a house that had been deserted many years before. Inside, a vortex had formed when the planets in the solar system lined up for the first time in a millennia. This vortex was a hole ripped in the fabric of the galaxy. Needless to say, Girion was sucked into it, falling into a deep sleep spinning for hours. After what seemed an eternity, he finally awoke into a land lit up by a yellow sun, birds chirping, and a field of emerald grass.

He had arrived.

Skills:

Chameleon Cloak -- This skill allows him to imbue his cloak with a magical field that forces a viewer to ignore his presence. It does not hide him or protect him from blows, but a viewer can only see a dark, nondescript shape -- nothing more. This can only be used once a day and must be charged for one post.

Bladesmanship -- This skill is something he has spent years perfecting to a fine degree. He is a skilled swordsman, using this skill in circuses to buy food when times were lean. His ability is useful in large crowds for their amusement, but also is useful when in a battle. He is by no means a master, but can wield his blade well enough to be above a novice.

Sorcerous Grasp -- His skill in magic is not very strong, but one of the few tricks he has picked up over the years is an ability to create an invisible hand and extend it to another to grasp their neck (think Darth Vader style) and squeeze (not kill merely cause them to gag). This is something he is continuing to perfect, but currently can perform it after charging for two posts. He can hold the opponent for a maximum of five seconds, long enough to escape, but not enough to kill them. This skill is only usable once a day.

Equipment:

Long Sword -- Steel blade with a grooved middle that improves its aerodynamics for better accuracy.

Wood Staff -- Used for walking and self-defense when he cannot use his sword for some reason. Comfortable staff made of yew wood, shaped and polished to a good grip.

Steel Breastplate -- Protection for his body.

Cloak -- Thick, deep dark cloak. Nothing special.

-I cannot allow invisablilty at LEvel one, sorry. Although, you can make it so it's sorta' hard to see him when he's moving, or it's hard to see him when he's still.

-No...No force choaking. Weaken that alot, as squeezing means you can kill,..and that's almost an instant death spell...Weaken that alot.
