Personality: Dale is still charming but is getting up there in years, and those years haven't been kind. A faint hint of doom permeates his nature and ruins the all that he holds most dear.
Appearance: Attractive, or he was...slowly losing his hair and slightly rotund in the middle makes him less and less attractive to the opposite sex as the years pass.
History:
Raised in Oakfield, he married Jane Dumas, the eldest daughter of Eli Dumas, the owner of The Feisty Goat at the age of 18. Unfortunately, a widower at 20, his father-in-law gave the inheritance to the next eldest daughter’s husband, but tolerated Dale enough to let him work in the inn as a minstrel. 15 years later, Dale is found a little wiser, a little stouter, but mostly just older. That year, Dale (35) befriends, beds and impregnates the youngest, Lydia (17). Leaving town the next day, Dale regrets his actions (almost) immediately, but his pride won’t let him turn around…and neither will his shame.
After a few months on the road, Dale meets up with Fitzwilliam Boggs, a failed wizard’s apprentice who discovers out that Dale is an adept student and begins to teach him the little he knows. Once again Dale’s bad luck pops up when Boggs dies by choking on a fishbone.
Skills:
Lute playing – his magical strength comes from playing (unknown to Dale).
Glow (can make metal items glow - the more time spent focusing, the longer and brighter)

The clothes on his back - Stained shirt, brown pants, brown vest-all well worn. In the Backpack - Kitchen knife +1 (better chance of tasty meals), stolen from The Feisty Goat, blessed by the kitchen sprite (unknown to Dale). Bedroll, slightly musty. Small birdcage (no bird). Brown cloak, smells faintly of spoiled beer. Spell book from inept wizard written in runes. Lute (actually a bouzouki, but Dale doesn't know the difference).
