Appearance: Chiyo looks like an elegant young woman. Her pale lilac eyes stand out against her light rosy skin and dark hair and lashes. She wears formal clothes and sometimes even dresses up in a kimono when she has time to relax and doesn't have to worry about fighting.
History: Chiyo was born into one of the most prestigious families in Japan as a cat. The father and mother had three daughters and a son. Chiyo belonged to the youngest daughter, Sayuri. Sayuri took good care of her but only after a year of being by her beloved owner's side, Sayuri took ill and a few months later, died. The whole time Chiyo stayed by her side and watched in pain as her beloved owner slowly faded from the world. Sayuri's parents saw how the cat never left her side and blamed Chiyo for their daughters death. They said that Chiyo brought a bad omen upon the house and was the cause of Sayuri's death. Whenever one of them saw Chiyo they would torment and abuse her. She didn't have any place to go so she stayed there and tried to hide from them. For nine more years she put up with the abuse of the family and every year she came to hate them more and more. When she turned 10 years old, something happened that changed her life. On that day she was sitting under a table and felt very strange. Her tail grew out and split in two and she felt a great power surge inside of her. She had become a bakeneko and she knew she finally had the power to seek revenge on the family that had put her through so much hell. She spent the next few months haunting them. She filled their dreams with nightmares that felt so real, eventually the father had a heart attack and died. This brought the family into a great turmoil and finally the rage that had possessed Chiyo swept out of her. She saw how much pain and had caused the family and decided she wanted to move on. Part of her power was the ability to take the form of a human female. She began to travel to find out about the world beyond the closed in life she had lived before. She rarely shows her true form to others and she has yet to discover all of her powers.
Skills: Chiyo has done enough traveling where she has had time to practice some fighting skills. She found two hand sickles out in a field and started practicing with them. She is average at fighting with the two steel curved bladed tools but is looking to buy a better pair than the ones she has. She hasn't been in many fights so she still has a lot to learn about hand-to-hand combat. So far the powers she has discovered are the ability hear and talk to the dead, manipulate people's dreams, and to take a human form.
Equipment: Chiyo has a formal fan, two silk kimonos, a medicinal book, a few charms (a charm against demons, a healing charm, a good luck charm, a charm for vitality), and two steel hand sickles. The charm against demons is meant to dispel evil spirits from entering your dreams or possessing you. The healing charm can only be used once and can only heal a minor wound. The good luck charm helps the holder from getting lost. And the charm for vitality is meant to promote good health on your travels. The actual accuracy of the last two charms is questionable, but the shrine maidens who sold them to her assured her they would bring her good fortune. She only has one of each of these charms.
