Name: Andreas 'Uriel' Erasmus
-Title: Brother
-Alias: Uriel
Age: 32
Race: Human
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Grey
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 210 lbs.
Occupation: Priest of Illumination
Nationality: Salvic

Appearance:

Unappealing and emotional, handsome and intelligent; if anything, Uriel is a clash of styles. His features might have been called handsome in days long past, but an eon of bloodshed and terrible visions have weathered his visage, aging his complexion beyond it’s years. His head is kept shaved as a sign of his faith and his jaw had never held more than a few day’s worth of stubble. He has a powerful, wide-set jaw and a relatively plain, blunt nose, but his cloud-colored eyes shine with life and intelligence, acting as a source of incredible beauty in a war-torn wasteland of wrinkles and scars.

He is physically fit to the extreme; years upon years of training with heavy armor and weapons have left his body a masterpiece of sinew and... more sinew. Considering his long history of close combat, he has surprisingly few scars; the only one large enough to notice immediately is a sliver of white upon the lightly tanned skin of his right pectoral muscle [image URIEL].

Typically, he is clad in the grab of his order, but his clothes occasionally do as they were intended to: change. Uriel’s priestly grab consists of a crimson, sleeveless robe with gold trim upon the sleeves and collar, a pair of thick pants to protect him from the cold, and some simple leather boots. If prepared for battle, Uriel will don a black padded shirt over his typical garb, in addition to an iron chestpiece that protects his chest, stomach, shoulders, and neck. Oftentimes, he will wear a cloak over his chestpiece that matches his robe. A chain hangs from his right shoulder to his left hip like a harness, securing a leather-bound book to his side [image PRIEST].

Brief History: [I plan on elaborating on his history as I continue to play at this board. I have his full history written, but it’s about six times longer than this and contains details the average player won’t give a damn about.]

“My childhood? I did not know of the One God as a child --- what does it matter?

I’ll begin with my initiation into the order. Of course, I’d been a faithful follower of the Church of the Eternal sway, but I hadn’t ever felt the presence of God until I was twenty-two. I was taking a stroll through the business district of Knife’s Edge advertising my father’s blacksmith and displaying some of his wares. But… for some reason, I sought shelter in a church. Oh, yes --- I remember. It was raining, and I didn’t want my father’s goods to rust. I’d once left an entire box of freshly-made horseshoes out in the rain...” Uriel pauses, a wistful look crossing his face. “...so I sought shelter in a nearby church. The sight I witnessed after entering those doors completely altered my conception of what ‘God’ is. From that day forth, I became a follower of the One God, my Illuminating Light, the Hammer of Justice.

Shortly thereafter, I enlisted in the Salvarian army as a footman. I excelled in unmounted combat and obtained numerous medals for honor, valor, and bravery, but I never received a promotion due to my... unusual... practices. After five years in the military, I left the service in order to become a Priest of Illumination.

Ah, you haven’t heard of the Church of Illumination? It’s an offshoot of the Church of the Eternal Sway. While we technically follow the same God, the Church of Illumination has one significant belief that the Church of the Eternal Sway strongly disagrees with: Thou art God. God is in all of us, and all of us are in God. Because we are in God and God is in us, we have the ability to perform the miracles of God.

You look... skeptical. Stick with me long enough and you might get to see a demonstration, kid.

For the past five years, I’ve been training underneath different officials of the Church of Illumination --- you know, Bishops, Archbishops, Cardinals, and the like*. They’ve helped me understand the essence of God, in addition to honing my ability to harness the power of the Illuminating Light --- the One God --- and perform his works.

What do I do now? What the One God requires of me, of course. I follow his will eternally.”

*I didn't see much information on the structure of the Church, so I inserted Catholic ranks. I'll change 'em if it's requested.

~Church of Illumination~
Core Beliefs
-‘Thou Art God’: God is part of every man, and every man is part of God.
-Divine Acts: Because God is in every man, every man is capable of Godly acts.
-Will of God: Because God is in every man, he is performing the will of God --- provided he is a member of the Church of Illumination, of course. Thus, a member of the church is infallible when acting out the will of God. If they are ever mistaken, they were not, in fact, following the will of God and must meditate more frequently in order to ascertain God's true will.

Customs
-Free Love/Sex: Restricting one’s self to one person for all of one’s life is like restricting yourself to consuming only bread and water for all your life; not only is it unhealthy, it is incredibly dull.
-Ritual Cannibalism: Example ~ A high-ranking official in the church passes away. His closest friends and advisors are invited to attend his ‘meal’, consuming his flesh while simultaneously praising, cherishing, and honoring him with all their beings. It is considered a great honor to be asked to eat a fellow man.
-Meditation: Required in order to draw closer to the One God.
-‘Aliens’: Used in this sense to refer to inhuman races. “Beware the alien, the mutant, the heretic.” Foreign races (such as elves and dwarves), halfbreeds (such as ‘furries’ and half-elves) and those who denounce the teachings of the One God are treated with distrust; they cannot be eaten, made love to, or inducted into the Church of Illumination.

Skills: (Skill : Skill Rank) (Awful < Poor < Fair < Below Average < Average < Above Average < Advanced < Expert < Master )

<Combat>

-War Hammer: Above Average
Uriel was instructed in the use of a many different weapons while in the standard military, but his weapon of choice is the War Hammer. With over five years of training, it’s unsurprising that he excels in its use.

-Lances: Poor
(Spears, lances, pikes)
Uriel was trained to use a lance atop a horse in military training, but he never entered combat mounted; he was always a footman.

-Medium Armor : Fair
(Scale, Chain, Half-Plate)
His weapon is heavy enough; he can’t afford to be weighed down further by full plate.

-Horseback Riding: Poor
While he can manage riding a horde from place to place, Uriel is incapable of doing any sort of riding tricks or battle maneuvers while on horseback.

<Non-combat>

-Languages: Common (fluent), Dwarvish (proficient), Elvish (poor), Dark Elvish (poor)

-Blacksmithing: Fair
Uriel was not formally trained to be a blacksmith, but he helped in his father's smithy from the ages of 9-15. Thus, he knows enough about the art to fashion common objects out of iron-quality metal, but nothing further.

-Smelting: Fair
Uriel can melt down ore with limited success and remove it's impurities. Only capable of purifying iron-quality ore or less.

-Natural Leader: Not only does Uriel have above-average oratory skills, he has years of combat experience and is familiar with large and small-scale battle tactics.

<Supernatural>

-Cleanse: Level 0
By sending up a prayer to the One God, Uriel’s body is completely cleansed of any curses, diseases, and other negative effects below level 0. Significantly weakens curses/diseases/etc below level 1. Slightly weakens curses/diseases/etc below level 2. Ineffetive on ailments above level 3. This ability is unreliable, though; if the Divine believes that Uriel can sustain himself without intervention, the mortal’s prayers will go unfulfilled.

-Fanaticism: Level 0
Uriel’s primary combat skill. Causes an orange, flamelike aura to manifest around the head of his weapon. While this ability doesn’t actually enhance Uriel’s skills in any way, shape, or form, it is proof (to him) that the One God is on his side. While active, this skill will significantly boost the priest’s morale, allowing him to fight more vigorously for longer periods of time. Can be used an infinite amount of times, but he must either be losing morale, in a state of religious fervor, or in a state of emotional distress in order to activate this skill. Will grow in power exponentially as Uriel gains experience. As of now, this ability only acts as a placebo; it does nothing but raise Uriel's spirits. [image FANATIC]

-Divine Protection: Level 0
If the One God deems it necessary to preserve the life of his servant, Uriel will become completely immune to ranged, non-magical projectiles; rather than embedding themselves in his flesh, they will bounce off his skin. He WILL still feel the impact of projectiles, but they will not embed themselves in his flesh. Ex: A throwing knife might just cause discomfort, but a bullet or arrow would feel like a small hammer striking his body with great force. Uriel must notice that the person has a ranged weapon in order for this ability to activate; five seconds after he takes note of the weapon, the shield is raised. Remains active for approximately 10 seconds; usable once per hour.

*NOTE: His pendant and book are major components in his ability to call upon the supernatural. Without one, his abilities will weaken significantly; without both, he is incapable of supernatural skills. His dependence on these artifacts will vanish as he grows in faith.

Okay, this is mostly fine but I need you to elaborate or change some things.

Firstly, Cleanse can remove weak poisons and weaken strong ones and same for curses. Does it affect injuries? If you don't beef up any other parts of your profile, I'll allow it.

Fanatacism is only a placebo, correct? Nothing actually happens but Uriel thinks that it makes him stronger. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's the impression I got.

Divine Protection has to be nixed, there is no way I will let you become immune to ranged attacks at Level 0. I'm not sure what you mean by lethal situations but I'm pretty sure I won't allow it whatever it means. Anyway, here's what I'll allow:

- Divine Protection takes 5 seconds to fully form.
- Once formed, projectiles of a non-magical nature will still strike Uriel but they will leave bruises and still hurt him.

Unless, of course you meant that he still suffers pain, in which you only need to add the first point.

After you make those edits, you'll be approved.

Cleanse: What it removes is much clearer, now. Fixed. It doesn't affect injuries.

Fanticism: Yes, it is just a placebo, but it sure makes him look intimidating. :D

Divine Protection: Removed the 'usable only in lethal situations' sentence, as it was obviously unclear. Fixed.

Edit2: After reading through his omplete history, I realized that he should have limited experience with blacksmithing and smelting. Skills added to profile.

Also, his name has been altered.

Looks okay. I'd like a limit on how many times Divine Protection can be used. At this time, I'm going to allow at most once or twice an hour.

If you push all the levels in Cleanse back a bit, you'll be approved. i.e. Level 0 Poisons are removed, Level 1 are weakened, Level 2 and above are slightly weakened.
