Xion Rameses Medigo VI
02-28-07, 07:07 AM
Name: Xion Rameses Medigo VI
Age: 3012 Years
Class: White / Blue Mage
Race: Human, spiritually sustained by the Rift.
Alignment: Neutral

Description: Xion Rameses Medigo VI, despite being 3012 years old in real-time, does not look a day over twenty years old in human terms. He has short silver hair, cropped in spiky bangs that fall over his face. He wears silver robes that drape over a white undershirt, the back of which is emblazoned with the crest of a sword surrounded by a cloud of silver mist. This symbol, although hardly ever referred to, bears significant sentimental value to Xion of which he often refuses to discuss. On his hands he likes to wear white silk gloves to insulate his palms from his magic.

Weapon: Channelling Staff Lazarus

A simple steel staff augmented with the ability to channel magic. Although ineffective against melee specialists it sports a small javelin like point at one end that can be used offensively if required. Lazarus was given to Xion by his master Hemlock Vividandrium after completion of his training in the arts of the white mage.

Skills: Impair

Drawing upon the power of the Rift, Xion can cast a thick dark sphere of a smokey substance at a target of his choosing. Upon impact with a solid object, the sphere will burst and release a thick cloud of intoxicating fumes that drift on air. These fumes attack the eyesight and hearing of a living creature, causing the eyes to irritate and itch and making the ears ring in high pitched squeaks. This causes disorientation and confusion among those vulnerable to the spell. Xion is resistant to the effects of impair due to constant exposure to the gas during training.

Magic: Cural

A simple curative spell that heals minor wounds i.e cuts and grazes, aches and pains, muscle strain and small fractures, and / or fatigue. Xion draws upon this spell to restore his bodily energies and heal any allies within a ten metre radius.

Magic: Antitoxin

A simple spell that removes basic toxins and ailments from the bloodstream. Effective against basic poisons, diseases, headaches and fatigue. Xion can use this to help anyone within a ten metre radius recover from poisoning.

Items: Chain Bracelet

A small silver chained bracelet that Xion wears on his left wrist at all times. This bracelet, much like the crest on the back of his silver robes, holds huge amounts of sentiment for the mage and he vows never to be parted with the item as long as he is alive, evident by the fact he has welded the chain together permanently. It is believed to be an artefact from his past tied to a long lost piece of his human memories, lost within the time fabric of the Rift's incubating patterns.

Armour: Leather Plate

A simple thick leather breastplate strapped to his chest underneath his undershirt. Offers basic protection against blunt and sharpened objects but often needs replacing due to wear and tear of everyday life.

History:

Xion Rameses Medigo VI, real name Christopher Assirra, was born and raised on the lush planet Memelria, far past the living plane of Althanas. Born from the touch of The Rift upon his home world, as most children were on Memelria, the child was found and taken in by a scientist named Hemlock Vividandrium, a wise and powerful mage and a Rift enthusiast that was a member of the Rift scientific body Terranora. Hemlock and his wife had been unable to bear children and in taking in Christopher he had finallly found the opportunity to father a child of his own, and was delighted to do so.

As the years passed, Hemlock and his companions at Terranora passed on their knowledge to Christopher and trained him as a white mage, inspiring him also to become a keen student of the Rift. Eventually, Hemlock bestowed upon his adopted son a new name, Xion Rameses Medigo VI in honour of his graduation into the senior ranks of the Terranora society .

Xion learned that the Rift is an inter-dimensional entity that travels from world to world collecting the souls of the deceased, cleansing and eventually resurrecting them in physical form upon the planet before leaving. There was a time where The Rift was a shapeless, ribbon like lunar cloud that drifted between dimensions, populating barren and deserted worlds with the resurrected souls of those who had died in other dimensions. Each world it touched sprang new life, the gift of rebirth spreading throughout the omniverse.

Eventually the Rift itself went through a stage of evolution. Having collected a vast amount of souls from each dimension it had ever entered, it's logical patterns started to think and desire like a living creature. The souls within started to become one with the entity, no longer contained and processed but simply fused into the existence of the Rift. After millennia of slow merging, the Rift ceased to be the life bearing incubator it had existed to be for eons but instead became a living object, a product of its own purpose. The Rift remanifested itself as a living spirit and chose to sail the darkness of space to find a realm in which to remain.

During a powerful dimensional storm in the stratosphere of Memelria, Hemlock's vessel suffered major structural damage as the two scientists attempted to take electrical samples of the Rift. The silicon hull of the craft disintegrated in the intense gravity pockets, and the two scientists fell from an altitude of thirty five thousand feet. The Rift's electrical body caught them in a web of time fabric and carried Hemlock and Xion in the tides of time away from their home world, preserving their lives as they lay in a comatose trance. During this trance, Hemlock and Xion subconsciously spoke with the heart of the Rift and agreed to remain with it until the next living world, using it as a ship to sail the darkness of space.

Eventually, after visiting many worlds, The Rift settled upon one which it deemed fit to settle upon, the lush and vibrant world of Althanas. Realising that in time it would have to fit in with the hordes of living beings that populated the planet, The Rift adopted a number of avatars that could adapt to every-day normality and that could be accepted without alienation.

This seems fine but I'd like limits on Impair. At this stage, it seems a bit too powerful. Add a delay for the spell to take effect, as well as maybe add a chance of resisting it or lessen the effect.

Once you fix that, you'll be fine.

Seeing as I have no real offensive power, bar Impair, can I add a delay of 15 seconds for the gas to spread? Lessening the effect would render the spell almost pointless.

If there is a chance for resistance, then you can leave it like it is.

EDIT: Forget it, I misread the ability. You are now approved, with the 15 second delay on impair. Whether this is whether to form the magical sphere or for the gas to come out is up to you.
