Raelyse contemplated what he had been doing over the past few days. Few things had managed to keep him amused for very long during his relatively short life but lately, he had found that even the more interesting things in his life had become dull. Music didn't sound just quite the same it did before, food turned sour in his mouth and even the prospect of adventure on the horizon failed to excite the normally ambitious time. The prince of Myrusia had spent the past few days (or was it weeks) cooped up in a lavish but ultimately copiously decorated room. The lap of luxury was not a place that Raelyse often left, but lately, he had grown bored of it. Perhaps, it was time for a change.

When the first steps out of Myrusia had been made, Raelyse was as active as anyone, attempting to seize the day in as dramatic a fashion as anyone could think of. But now, he simply waited. Like a cow waiting to be taken to the slaughter, for something interesting to happen. He had done little, he was being passive, as if sitting on a cliff, waiting as the breeze buffeted his face. In his heart though, the prince of Myrusia knew nothing would happen. He would continue to remain motionless and the events of Althanas would pass him by.

It had all started when Raelyse was scheduled to meet a prominent Coronian royal whose name escaped him, he had long forgotten why he had come here. Continual delays were apologized with lengthier stays in the fantastic room and eventually, the prince got used to it. He could find out in an instant how the Grander's Order had been in his absence and be back in their company, but the true question remained: did he really want to? Thoughts returned to Myrusia where he had been so comfortable, where everyone in the country knew him. Had that been so bad?

As Raelyse reclined on his chair, eying his finely crafted swords, wondering when whether they would ever leave their sheathes again, he couldn't help but wonder.

How long would this last?
