Vroth
03-16-07, 08:23 AM
Basic Info:
Name: Vroth (formerly Vroth ‘kha Ennah)
Age: 47
Eyes: Hazel
Hair: Light brown
Skin/Fur: Tawny
Race: Minotaur
Weight: 530 lbs.
Height: 8’7’’
Occupation: Protector
Appearance:
Vroth's horns are the horns of a warrior. In minotaur society, the shape and the size of the horns designate how strong an individual will be. Vroth's horns are pointed towards the front and as strong as steel which was the most aggressive and the most honored type of horns. The fur that covers the surface of his body is rough and of a brown hue much lighter then that of his kin. During his early childhood, many called him “Goldilocks” because of it, but just as many didn’t tell stories of what happened after they mocked Vroth in that manner. Like all minotaurs, Vroth has hooves instead of feet which makes it next to impossible for him to be silent on hard surfaces.
Personality:
It is hard to scrape deep enough below the surface to penetrate to Vroth’s true personality. The first impression is that Vroth is significantly different from other minotaurs. While the rest of his kin are usually raucous and rowdy, Vroth tends to be silent and brooding, often ascertaining the surroundings with what Alexia like to call a Smart Eye. His intelligence is rather limited though. He can form simple sentences and get the message across in his guttural voice, but the more complex grammar and vocabulary is unknown to him and in most situations incomprehensible. Another deviation from the minotaur idiosyncrasy is that Vroth isn’t easy to provoke and pull into a fight. When he is in a battle though, he is just as fierce and merciless as the rest of his race. The soft side of him is reserved for Alexia over whom Vroth is protective to a fault. Though it is hard to tell when (and if) a minotaur smiles, his fairy companion can make him laugh with her antics and her jovial yammering.
Given the fact that there can be no redemption for what he did to his family, Vroth’s only goal is protecting the only family he had left; Alexia. His dream – a childish fantasy of which he never spoke to his tiny comrade – is to find a grove where the two of them could live in peace until the end of their days. Prying deeper into this adolescent mentation, we can find that Vroth sometimes ponders on what would happen if Alexia wasn’t as large as his fist.
Weapons and Accessories:
Steel Greatsword - A simple, double-edged, 5 feet long greatsword made out of steel. Alexia dubbed it “Vindicator”, but Vroth never calls it by that or any other name.
Steel Scale Mail - Vroth isn’t too fond of armors, but Alexia, with her incessant nagging, talked him into acquiring this extra protection. It’s rather ragged though, missing metal scales here and there, thus showing wear and tear of many a battle.
Battle Horns - Seeing as Vroth’s genetics designated him a battle minotaur, his horns are as strong as steel right now and can grow even stronger if they break or a lot of time passes. If they do break, Vroth can re-grow them, and they become even stronger then before. However, re-growing horns is a painful process that usually lasts for quite a while. ((Means he can only harden them via level-ups))
Abilities:
Battle Rage – A classic minotaur ability that amplifies their physical abilities and improves their awareness and reflexes. Given the fact that Vroth is still unused to it, this ability can be rather taxing if used for anything save for occasional outbursts.
Battle Circle – Vroth stabs his blade into the ground and it becomes the center of a circle. Every enemy within the circle receives a penalty to their morale and focus because in their eyes, the minotaur becomes an even more dominating and more formidable opponent then he already is. Vroth has to deal with these enemies with his fists or horns. Allies that find themselves within the circle are not influenced by the Battle Circle. Those with strong will can resist the effects of the Battle Circle.
Battle Stomp – The muscles of Vroth’s legs are strong enough to enable his hooved feet to stomp the ground, creating a mild quake that can throw enemies off balance.
Average Swordsmanship/Axemanship – Though his looks make Vroth seem like a hardened warrior, he is only average with sword and axe and well below average with rest of the weapons. His style focuses on brute power and thus lacks any sort of finesse.
Strength of the Minotaur – When it comes to strength, Vroth isn’t much stronger or weaker then his minotaur brethren. However, that still makes him 1,5 times as strong as average humans, but because of his bulk and his choice of weapons, he is also somewhat slower then most humans.

Basic Info:
Name: Alexia Galeborn
Age: 21
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Green
Skin: Pale
Race: Fairy
Weight: 9 oz
Height: 7’’
Occupation: Troublemaker, dancer, jester... Though mostly troublemaker.
Appearance:
Alexia is quite a looker. Even though she’s about as large as common house vermin, she has a figure of a breathtakingly beautiful woman which her rather scant clothing amply reveal. Her attire, that looks as if it was made of moss and tiny leafs, is formed around her tiny body in a form of a sleeveless dress that ends up halfway down her thighs. The only thing – except her size – that differentiates her from normal women is a pair of wings. Looking as no more then miniscule translucent feathers, these wings allow her limitless flight and have an eerily green glow about them.
Personality:
Though Alexia embodies the usual fondness that her kind has in abundance, she also tends to be a real pain in the ass. Her inquisitiveness tends to push her tiny nose where it doesn’t belong, and she often winds up in trouble because of it. Luckily, she has Vroth now to bail her out when she does. She rewards this with constant yammering, jumping from one topic onto the next, always trying to put the last word in. This trait, combined with her nosiness, can often make her look childish and careless. However, there are times – though they are quite rare – that she takes the situation seriously and talks like a normal adult does.
Weapons and Accessories:
The Ubersword of Doom – Or at least that’s what Alexia dubbed her iron dagger. In reality, it’s a simple two-inch dagger that glows green, in sync with her wings. It has no uber traits whatsoever.
Wand of Ultimate Destruction – is actually a piece of enchanted teak wood that Alexia uses to channel her spells. Other then that, it’s just a stick that Vroth could use as a toothpick.
Abilities and Spells:
Limitless Flight – Alexia’s wings combined with her light weight enable her to flutter around for as long as she likes. Being a fairy, she is more used to spending time in the air then she is on the ground. The maximum speeds and maneuverability of her flight are that of an average sparrow, though unlike most birds, she can hover in one spot.
Spray of Death – Right now, this is the only spell she has and it has nothing to do with death, unless you consider sleeping a form of dying. When she calls upon this spell, a twinkling powder falls off her wings like pollen of a flower. Those who inhale it have a good chance of falling asleep. Those with strong willpower can resist it though. The secondary effect of this spell is to make the vision blurry, should the victim not inhale the powder or negate it. This, of course, can be stopped by simply keeping your eyes shut.
Combined history:
Vroth was born as the second of three sons of Ennah ‘kha Gygar, one of the ten council members of the Dark Moon clan in the frozen forests of Berevar. Like his brother, Fogren, before him and his younger brother, Crang, after him, Vroth was born a warrior, his father’s son, and was bound to join the militia that were the law enforcers of the clan. His early childhood was rather unremarkable, usual everyday squabbles with his brothers and occasional duels over banal issues that seemed or dire importance at the time. The trouble started when Fogren came to age (40) and as the firstborn became the captain of the law enforcers.
Vroth was fine with playing the second fiddle for his brother. It was, after all, the law and the way it was done for thousand of years. However, during a regular patrol, they came upon a blinded wood elf trespassing on the hallow burial grounds. As the law commands, the elf was first brought before the captain of the guard who without deliberation sentenced him to death. Vroth, seeing this kind of injustice for the first time openly opposed his brother. They fought to determine the righteousness of the decision and after nearly an hour of battling, neither was able to come on top. Both frustrated and too proud to yield, they took the fight to another level. Blood was drawn soon after and it became apparent that Fogren will emerge victorious and kill his brother. Pinned down to the ground, left at the mercy of his brother, Vroth was overtaken by rage. It was at this moment that Ennah jumped in to stop the pair from taking this too far. Blinded by fury, Vroth drove his blade into the figure in front of him, impaling his father on his sword.
For this patricide, the most loathsome crime a minotaur can commit, Vroth was sentenced to death. It was his younger brother, Crang, that snuck into the dungeons on the night before the execution and set Vroth free, telling him to flee. From that day forth, Vroth was a vagabond. With no particular goal in life, he wandered far and wide to quench the guilt that was haunting him. He tried and he failed.
It was in Alerar, the relentless dark realm of darker folk, that he found the one thing that brings joy to his life nowadays. One of the foreign hawkers, that came with the spring and went with the coming of autumn, displayed a wide assortment of his foreign goods, and amongst them was a glass bell. And beneath this bell was the most beautiful creature that Vroth ever saw. The fairy creature seemed miserable, clinging to the small tatters of cloth in desperate search for warmth. The next night, he knocked the merchant lights out, stole the fairy and was on the first ship out of Alerar.
Though frightened by the bull-man, as she called Vroth, with time Alexia realized that his intentions are good and she shared her short history with him. She told him how she was born under what her elders called the Stormy Star and that she had been designated mischievous even before she really did anything wrong. For most of her early years, she tried to prove the prediction wrong, but regardless of how hard she tried, she was always treated as an outcast. The fact that she had a bad habit of actually fitting the profile and being a troublemaker didn’t help her much though.
Her curiosity soon became a nuisance though. Fairies were creatures of secrecy that stayed away from the eyes of other races, and Alexia became a threat to their village. That was why, when the demon hunters stepped out of Haidia and started to roam the woods around Dheathain, Alexia was left to her own devices while her tribe migrated. It came as no surprise that she was caught soon afterwards, when she was trying to explore a camp of a demon patrol. The demons had no use of such creature, calling her a weird butterfly, so they sold it in the next town to a local peddler of pretty much all possible good. From there she exchanged many hands until finally winding up in Alerar where Vroth found her.
Eventually, they pair wound up in Corone and Alexia the fairy became his best friend, his only companion and in a strange way, his love as well. He found work on the local docks, but often Alexia and he wandered through the surrounding woods. She chattered and chattered and spoke of enough things to swirl the minotaur’s mind, but despite his grouchy nature, he enjoyed these walks. However, soon the war came to the land of Corone and the idyll of their companionship was ruined.
