View Full Version : Battle in Fallien! Look here!
Aryr de Morte
03-20-07, 07:59 AM
If you're interested myself and Dirge (Osato) have an offer for you!
Aryr de Morte is commanding an elite troop coming from the south of Fallien from the sea!
Aryr will be commanding an elite troop of roughly 200 men, I'm looking for captains, officers, and messengers!
Osato is also be looking for more people to be part of his sand warriors!
It's pretty straightforward, Osato is more the villain (part of the cult attacking Irrakam). Aryr is coming to reinforce Irrakam.
POST HERE if you're interested and one of us will PM you. Places are limited! You must be active, we do not want this thread to die! Remember this is a larger scale battle, only post if you're willing to listen to the higher-up commanders. (Messengers could possibly give the messages incorrectly or betray, ect.)
Any twisting of orders will need to be discussed beforehand. Do not miss this chance to shape Fallien's history with your iron fist!

This sounds awesome, and it would fit my character. If you would look in my profile you would find that my character will do anything for money. However, he is evil by nature. I want in. I WILL POST AT LEAST ONCE EVERYDAY, unless there is a specific order and flow that we are following.
I don't know, which side I want to be on or should be on, but whichever side wants me. I'm still in!!!

You look like a good candidate for Dirge's side. Umm... if you have AIM get on and catch me or Aryr there. Mine is TheTaskmienster. Or just PM one of us, preferably the side you are interested in joining... though we talk regularly so it's not too big a deal.
Can I be some sort of an officer? I have skill as a tactician and politician, but not opposed to flat out fighting.
N stuff. Truth, you know me as Kaz and Nanza and Tal'Ethurak, I should hope that I am worthy of this undertaking. Preferably on the good side.
I'd be interested in joining my character as a messenger for the good side (Ghoti's very sneaky, he'd be good like that. He's also decent spy material, if ever you need it), provided you peeps trust that such a noob like moi will be able to stick to this. But I assure you, I'm not going anywhere unless my computer box explodes or something, so...it's really up to you guys. I can post most days, meaning five to six days a week, occasionally seven. :]

Iain, I never realized! Holy hell! Glad that you are around, and I love the new character! You've come quite a long way! I don't see a problem with you joining the good side... do you have a good reason why he'd be in Fallien instead of Salvar though? That'd be the only thing.
Ghoti, sure, why not. I'd love to see a fight between Garwocket and Ghoti too one day... lol.
Anyway, back on topic. Just wait for Aryr to hop on and give the ok. I'm not sure how many more people she wants for either side, so I just sit back and let her be in charge... lol.

So far here's what I'm thinking.
Aryr's Forces (Reinforcing Irrakam):
1.) Aryr de Morte (Commander)
2.) Iain (Officer)
3.) Ghoti (Field Messenger, deliver commands from Aryr to Iain)
Dirge's Forces (Attacking Irrakam):
1.) Dirge (Commander)
2.) Trouble In Your Eyes (Whatever position?)
3.) ___________ (Whatever position?)
This is just roughly, gambling on too many people in a thead isn't my style. I think 6 should be okay. I'll send out PM's sometime in the next 2 days, I might not be active in the next couple of days because our team is in the state basketball tournament. We'll see.
We'll work out more details later, I'm still thinking of a name for my force and I'm sure Dirge is getting his stuff together, so I guess we need ONE MORE "EVIL" CHARACTER!
Do not be afraid to post if you're interested!

If we don't have anyone interested in the next day or two we could use Kylexan. He's a cultist of sorts.
I'll get on AIM when I can, hopefully sometime tonight. If you have MSN that would be a million times easier for me, if not then it's no problem.
<-- Aryr de Morte and Massacre for those who don't know.
Well, I figured that there would have been some sort of recruitment, secretive or public, in which someone would have contacted him and asked for his service. He isn't restricted to Salvar, he just started there. He's done a quest in Istraloth and another in Alerar, so he can get from place to place. I've been needing an excuse to get to Fallien anyways and this is perfect.
Just let me know if you have any ideas or preferences as to how he could have been reached or recruited.
Kak Zalta

The other thread I was working on with Kak seems to be dormant of late. I definitely fill the role of an evil character looking to gain some power. I would best fill the scout/messenger/saboteur role.
I'll fill that spot if you are still looking.
Aryr de Morte
03-20-07, 09:40 PM
Perfect, so here's the roster, then.
Aryr's Forces:
Aryr de Morte (Commanding)
Ghoti (Messenger/Spy dealy)
Iain (Captain/Officer)
Dirge's Forces:
Dirge (Commanding)
Kak Zalta (Messenger/Spy dealy)
Trouble In Your Eyes (Captain/Officer)
You may discuss specifics amongst yourselves, I'll be PMing Ghoti and Iain soon. Dirge can discuss roles for sure with his lackeys.
Dirge, once you're set PM me and we'll discuss more. PM's should be out from me by tonight or tomorrow.
Study up on The Ruins in Fallien. There isn't much to read but be aware that elements of the ruins will influence events in the battle.
And Dirge, how many soldiers are you bringing? 200 roughly for me.
RECRUITING IS NOW CLOSED FOR THIS BATTLE! THIS IS THE FINAL ROSTER UNLESS SOMEONE DROPS OUT!
Sorry we can't have more but it would be too cluttered for me if we had more than this.

Update:
Quenching the Thirst (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?p=59859#post59859)
Please PM, IM, or post here so I know you're all still going to participate. If not, we'll open "recruitment" again.
Thanks for your time.

FYI - if you guys have any questions about the ruins, let me know. I'm sorry there isn't more information up about them at this point. If you have any great ideas that you plan to use in this epic battle (thanks for getting involved in the Siege by the way!) let me know so that I can add them to the ruins if they fit.
I can be reached on AIM as The Pyxie.
Still planning on being active n such. Only one comment on your post though, I'm not ugly!
Aryr de Morte
03-22-07, 02:57 PM
Aryr thinks basically everyone who isn't Eulaean or a woman is ugly, nothing personal. :p
Awesome, I'll throw up a post as soon as I can.

The posting order for the next 5 posts:
Dirge
Iain
Trouble In Your Eyes
Ghoti
Kak Zalta
The order will be PM'd to all parties as well. If you can't participate make sure that you let me know. Also, during any extended periods of absence I would appreciate being informed.
Dirge is sick at the moment but should post in the next two days if nothing gets worse. We'll see.
Feel free to PM/IM any questions you have.

Sorry for double posting but I have an update:
Ghoti will be out for the next week or so because a close family member has been diagnosed with quite a serious heart condition.
If his turn should come up, he has requested we skip him for now.

Somethings I think should be addressed before this starts...
Exit Pass
In order to be legally permitted to leave the Outlander's Quarter and travel throughout Fallien (or even the rest of the island of Irrakam), every foreigner is required to obtain from the local authorities an Exit Pass. These can be obtained for several reasons, including trade, tourism, or to serve in a temporary capacity in the Fallien militia.
If a person chooses to venture forth into Fallien without the required documents, he most certainly is taking his life into his hands. In some areas the punishment is as severe as death. At the very least a person will be jailed for a certain time until someone who has the amount of their fine will speak for them and remove them from the country - this is a permanent exile from Fallien.
Island of the Hatazista (Irrakam)
When Suravani destroyed Fallien, turning it into a vast desert, only a few survived the starvation and disease that reigned for months afterward. These few remained on an island at the center of the river Attireyi, and cared for each other and all who came to them for health.
Because they showed no greed or selfishness, which was what she had destroyed this land for to begin with, Suravani felt regret for her anger, and had mercy on these last few. Blessing them with long life and wisdom, the moon goddess called them the Hatazista which meant "those spared from execution".
The island, which became known as Irrakam, continued to be their home, and over the years that followed, they shaped it into a beautiful sanctuary against the deadly heat of the desert.
Six hundred years later, the island remains, although it is much changed. At the northern edge rises Jya's Keep, an architectural marvel where lives Jya and her priestesses. At its southern end is the Outlander's Quarter, where all foreigners are required to do all business, and cannot leave without the proper documentation. This documentation can be applied for at several places throughout the Quarter, and usually takes only a few days to be approved by Jya herself (although it is said that she allows her priestesses to do this job for her). There are only two ferries which are legally permitted to travel from the island to either shore, although ships can sail up the river Attireyi and are welcome to dock in the Outlander's Quarter.
Jya's Keep
R'uuya
Suravani gave this land to us even after we betrayed her trust. She destroyed our homes, our people, our culture, but she had mercy on us and brought us here. The In’wehtos tribe is grateful to our Mother Goddess for her mercy. We are the people of Ruuya, the Spicefields, where we live and work. It is here that we have been blessed to harvest things which determine the fate of men. Spices for the food that sustains us, perfumes to bring love and lust, poisons to bring death, and medicinal herbs which bring life, these are our domain.
We brave the heat, the wrath of the sun and the desert winds which threaten our crops, and we make our lives full here. We brave the wild beasts, the harpies which steal our children, the desert drakes which kill our livestock and scorch our fields. We brave the foreigners which would invade our land and take what is not their right. We are blessed by the goddess. She will sustain us.
Nirrakal
They call this land The Blight - an area of Fallien where few survive the scorching heat of the sun and its reflection from the fields of glass. Suravani left this for us in case the desert wasn't enough of a reminder of her hatred toward avarice and pride. But we live here.
We are the Mi'sheteri, the Glasswalkers, and this is our home. We live beneath the sands, in caves of glass. It is here that we create intricate works of glass that are nearly priceless throughout Althanas. At night we emerge from our caves to harvest the glass- there are many different kinds after all.
We use the sugar-glass which is found in amazing hues in order to color our trinkets and bottles. There is the shard glass which when melted down can be moulded into glass so strong that it is very difficult to break. We've even found entire sheets of glass beneath the surface of the desert which when cut properly can be sold for use in cathedrals and palaces as windows.
This land is fatal to those who do not know it. They think it is because of the elements. Perhaps we help those elements to their victims?
Suravani's Oasis
Home to several tribes, the oasis in the northern region of Fallien is the land of the legendary Fallien steeds. In this area, the Esseker and Deklan tribes with the help of several minor sister tribes breed and trade amazing horses known for their speed, strength, and unparalleled stamina. These people are volatile and known to be violent not only toward outsiders, but toward each other.
In the case that a person feels courageous enough to brave the deserts of Fallien in order to reach Suravani’s Oasis, great care should be taken to avoid the temporary settlements of the different tribes. Fearful of foreigners, these people have been known to summon strange and terrifying beasts to frighten away and sometimes kill those who would venture too close to their safe haven. These creatures take many forms, each indicative of the tribe which summoned them. In the case of the Esseker tribe, they often take the shape of an eagle or griffin. The Deklan tribe sends hordes of massive hound-like creatures.
Should a foreigner find it necessary to steal one of the legendary steeds bred in this oasis, and have the bad fortune of being caught, numerous methods of punishment may be employed by the natives. The favorite method is to tie the offender down onto the ground, and then allow a stampede of horses to trample the person until dead. The same punishment is used for foreigners who are discovered not to have the proper exit papers to authorize travel in Fallien outside the Outlander’s Quarter.
The Ruins
Ever since Fallien was destroyed nearly 600 years ago for the greed of its citizens, there have been few cities established besides the capital at Irrakam. What remains though, are several ruined cities scattered across the desert, as a reminder to the people of Fallien what the wrath of their goddess can do.
It is said that there are tribes living still in certain of these ruins. They do not worship Suravani, but instead follow her brother, Mitra, in the cult of the Sun. Little is known of these tribes, and some whisper that there are not truly any living people there, only ghosts who haunt the shattered cities. Whatever it is that roams these darkened places, few who enter ever escape.
Location
Haidia is not located on the surface of Althanas, but rather deep in it’s core. A massive magic powered force field keeps the heat and magma away from the continent, but the temperature of Haidia is warmer than elsewhere on Althanas. This force field is powered by a massive crystal located atop the Magi Tower in the Haidian Forest.
You can only get to Haidia through one of five portals located around Althanas. One is deep within Concordia forest. Another is found on the southern tip of snow-covered Salvar. Another portal is in Raiaera, and has not yet been activated by demon or otherwise, due to intense observation by the High Elves. The final portal is located in western Alerar, in an area run down and abandoned by the elves. The newest portal is located in southeastern Corone.

Everyone should look at this or somekind of history to make their posts more logical. If not the thread will not tie into the actually place very much. Hopefully i didn't overstep my ground posting this, but I think this thread has such great potential! I psyched!

If you care enough go for it, but this is a time of war techincally and Aryr is coming as an assistant to the cause. I doubt that you would need to deal with that. As for Vigo, he's bad, he does what he wants. Theres a reason he's not fighting on the good side, and that's because it's good... and mushy and shite.
Personally I don't think you really need to worry about all of that. As far as I can tell none of the threads relating to the actual combat are even finished, so as long as we finish we should be good to go.

03-25-07, 06:32 PM
Aryr was invited by the leadership of Irrakam, after the battle if they wish to stay in Fallien they must obtain passes. We are not part of the Fallien militia.
I've read extensively on the beasts and history associated with the ruins where the eventual battle will be taking place. :)
Why the information of Haidia?

Double post, sorry but needed. My computers mother board blew up and my hard drive went. So I am purchasing a new computer. It may take awhile for me to get back online. Sorry Guys, I'm pissed about it big time, but I'm trying my best.
