Name: Kyrie Phra Davara
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Hair Color: Golden brown
Eye Color: Olivine green
Height: 5'3"
Weight: 100 lbs.
Personality:
Kyrie is quite mature for a 13 year old, in speaking as well as her personality. She is obedient to her mother, of whom she is quite fond of and also a kind caretaker to her younger brother, Samal. Sweet and intelligent, she is one of the Guardians of the Children, a group that protects young children of Noothal from beasts of the sea while teaching swimming lessons and safety in the water.
Appearance:
Kyrie is tall for a Lake girl of her age, standing at 5'3" in height though her body is sinewy and lanky from strenuous exercise and swimming. Her skin has a golden glow, tanned by the constant beating rays of the sun. Light brown waves highlighted with golden sunstripes flow between her chin and shoulders, her alluring eyes a deep and crystalline green. She normally wears a stretched frock of sun-bleached liana bark and an ordinary beaded necklace.
History:
Nuugen, a Lake man of many trades, had once participated in the Village Guard of Noothal after his first trip out to sea, then returned to marry a lovely Lake lass named Isis. Soon afterward, he became a wandering merchant, traveling most often to the Ruined City and Istraloth’s outer mountainous region, but also to other cities on the lake.
It was within one of these constant voyages that he happened upon a beautiful building within the Ruined City during high tide; a simple room with a wide window made of magnificently eroded marble and rough stone. Approaching the entryway to the building, two young seal pups barked in surprise, darting into the warm shallow waters behind the man.
Fearful, but curiously unable to turn back, he entered the building with caution. Peering around the room, he noticed a part of the ceiling had been removed, perhaps erosion by the sea or rain. Through the hole, the sun shone in with immense brightness as it reflected off the few inches of water on the floor of the small room. Many large stones and boulders were scattered across the ground, perhaps from a previous attempt to reconstruct the ceiling.
Walking further in, he noticed a small wooden capsule with a strange gull seated atop it. Hesitantly, he stepped over to the parcel and peered at the bird. Returning his glance with a seemingly pleading stare, the gull reverted it's gaze back to the basket then flew out of the window in a panic. A gasp escaped the man's throat as he stared within the sun-speckled floating basket for several minutes, quickly snatching it up and escaping from the room.
As the day came to an end, Nuugen returned to his boat and headed back to Noothal. Constantly looking back, he wondered into the night sky why he had been urged to the Ruined City today.
On his return to Noothal, Nuugen presented the young babe to the local priest, Thelos. As Thelos looked the child over, he proclaimed that is they wish, Nuugen and Isis could raise the child as their own. With the father unable to name her, the priest suggested Kyrie, or "to have mercy". So Nuugen brought the child to his home and told Isis the story of the child, insisting the miracle was a blessing, and Isis welcomed her wholeheartedly.
~~~~~~
As the child grew, she learned much of the ways of the Lake. When she reached the age of 6, Isis and Nuugen had a son, whom they named Samal. He was petite and frail, with pale blonde hair that wistfully blew in the wind. Learning to swim quite promptly, Thelos and other priests suggested she teach the neighboring young ones to swim as well when she reached the age of 9. There began the Guardians of the Children, a group dedicated to teaching lessons of swimming and water safety to ensure the young boys and girls of Noothal have a better chance of surviving in the murky Lake waters than in previous years.
~~~~~~
Now 13 years of age, Kyrie grows fearful of the day when she will have to be paired with a boy to wed. But little does she know… she has many more adventures to endure before that time can come.
Skills:
Expert Fisher - From ashore, Kyrie is an amazing fisher, though she doesn't find the sport very much fun.
Wind/Cloud Study - Kyrie can observe weather conditions and predict power of storms from the mountainous regions to Noothal.
Familiar:
A seagull named Naksuun. His wings are not clipped, but he has been around ever since Kyrie was found in the Ruined City. He hangs around Noothal usually, but sometimes flies to the mountainous regions for days on end.
