As heard in the echo chamber: A new podcast! (http://www.box.net/shared/static/es2ad4st9a.mp3)
With more excitement, more dirt-dishing and even more cursing! BTW, if anyone else can hear that weird thumping sound in the background of the audio track, sorry about that. Don't know where it came from or what it is.
Thoughts?
I'd like to agree with your wonderful points, but I believe it's incredibly unprofessional to use a vibrator during a podcast.
EDIT: But I love the idea for the next show. Region talks all the way.

The next talk should be good. This was entertaining as well. Granted, sounded like something creaked every once in a while. Sound slike you guys were on a ship. Nevertheless, good talk.

Althanas festival:
I think it would be a good idea but it would be helpful to give input to this idea if we had even a slight idea of what exactly would be going on. If it doesn't have the title tournament that implies it might be quests or battles, which is it? Also, a rough time frame should be set otherwise people will get lazier than if there wasn't a deadline.
Gisela:
Never participated but it sounds fine to me.
Solo vs Party:
I think that (Frank's I think?) argument was a little weak. Just because someone doesn't have to "figure out" where people are or what action is taking place doesn't make the writing any easier, sometimes it's easier to drive a story when you have someone to bounce ideas off with, sometimes not. I think that's where the judge's discretion comes in about the gold, and why we have judges along with the actual judging and stuff.
Gold for actions/outside quests?:
Definitely one of the more interesting things you guys talked about. I think that while those things should be considered, they don't necessarily have to be written about. If people wanted to, they could definitely write a solo where their character goes to an everyday job, eats, takes their shit, then goes on a grand adventure. I think that the gold should be based on the quest, rather than any out of quest actions that may take place. Mostly because this isn't novel writing and not everything has to be a continuous story. The high intensity and deep emotion writing is what makes reading on a forum interesting, we could go buy a book if we want something different than what we already have.
Houses and stuff:
Buying a house would be much more rewarding if you say, got a small sub-forum or something in a specific region. Maybe winning something like that in a tournament. Other than that I don't think that buying silverware, plates, houses, and tables is really worth it.
Edit: The podcast itself was interesting enough, nice job. :)
heh no one ever notices that I have a house^^
but that's life.
I do agree that there isn't much most people could do with a house since most are focused on fighting and the like. Heck Ki probably wouldn't bother with it if she wasn't a mother.
I do think gold should be more consistent as right now it's kind of meaningless. I wouldn't mind going to the bazaar now and then but it's so difficult to earn gold and it's too damn hard to buy an enchanted item no matter how minor the magic that I just never find the need when one thread, I could have a moment where Ki buys something during the adventure and have it as spoils and get something much better for it.

I would add, though, that I think sometimes folks should just buy things for the hell of it. Like a house. Or a boat. Or a monocle. It can keep things interesting. While Althanas may be based on fighting and questing, that doesn't mean you shouldn't occasionally do things that don't quite "fit." It keeps things interesting.

Massacre, there is a unique "hotel hack" for vBulletin that grants players the use of password protected threads. In the past, the hack was used primarily for clans, and secret clan activity, but I don't see any problems with using it for more mainstream RP, such as homes.
Gisela is badass, and Mistician was finished, Findelfool, I finished 2nd!

Yes, dear. I guess it helped you finish higher because it took two years to complete. Plenty of time to post that way.
