Name: Rex Craspbil
Age: Early-twenties
Race: Human
Hair: Wheat-yellow with a tint of auburn
Eyes: Crystal blue with a light red core
Height: 6'3
Weight: 215 lbs
Personality:
Imbued with the temper of a one-legged devil that hasn't had sex in over a year, Rex reacts poorly to those who threaten his way of life. Instead of rolling over like a crippled dog with fleas and a half-shaven body, Rex chooses to engage any and all challengers aggressively. As evidenced by his wanton nature, Rex delights in taking his victims by surprise, especially during awkward moments. When not engaged in heated combat, Rex still maintains his lone-wolf persona by secluding himself in public, slipping into shadows and generally maintaining a low profile.
Appearance:
Rex's appearance is highlighted by his personality. His anger is accentuated by the red pupils in his azure eyes, which may have been described as "the core of his demonism." His thief-like movements are made possible by his light gear, a light brown garb draping his torso and lightweight black pants with a shredded hem. Rex likes to tread around in thick brown leather boots that were "made for kicking." His hair is relatively short, but what curls that exist generally drape down the nape of his neck. His face is clean-shaven, save for the wisps of hair hovering over his ears.
History:
Born to a relatively prominent Coronian prostitute, Rex found himself in an undesirable situation from conception. Beaten down and abused through his first three years as a "mangly mutt," Rex grew slowly and resentfully. His mother dragged him around with her out of pity, but her temper and personality made his life as a baby extremely unbearable. Ironically, his best moments were when he was alone, while his mother was doing her job as a whore. Some of her clients eventually took pity on the little boy by giving his mother money to "help him deal with life." She immediately saw the benefit to her kid, and Rex spent the next few years being her mother's "slave mutt," drawing pity from passer-bys who assumed that his gangly appearance was a result of malnutrition, not the beatings that his temperate mother laid on him. By the time he was six, Rex had grown experienced enough to become an extremely sly and crafty kid for his age. His mother, unsuspecting of his newfound knowledge and ability, continued to manipulate him. As Rex grew, he resented his mother more and more until he finally ran away one dark and stormy night while his mother lay unconscious after another exhausting day of work. Rex took this opportunity to begin his life anew as a thief, taking food when backs were turned, and money as he casually bumped into people during the rush for the merchant square. When he was seven, Rex was finally caught by one of the guards, who promptly dragged him off to the Sheriff. The Sheriff immediately saw promise in the beaten kid, and sent him off to the castle, with information that he should be inserted into the Program.
Rex quickly fit in, and he grew attached to his self-defense teachers, who showed him the art of weaponry and the basic fighting styles. With commitment and dedication, Rex began to change, becoming more lithe and sympathetic to the people of Corone. For the next ten years, he learned the teachings of fighters new and old, the history of Althanas, and the geography of the continents, among other topics. With his brain as a sponge, Rex began to take advantage of his fortunes, and settled comfortably into his newfound life. With knowledge comes power, and fortunately for Rex, he adored power. Rather unfortunately, however, he detested sharing his newfound power, and found himself isolated from the other students at the dojo. After ten years of silence and solemn learning, Rex suddenly got up and left the dojo, armed with the knowledge to fend for himself indefinitely. He left town and continued on with his life, unbeknownst to what lay before him, the trials and tribulations that would form the rest of his life.
Weapons:
Battle Axe: Rex carries a single steel battle axe around with him, intended as a means of intimidation, but he tends to use it in battle when the situation beckons.
Tomahawk (x2): When dormant, Rex’s steel tomahawks are positioned about his waist. Rex uses his tomahawks more often in battle, favoring their lightweight blade over the more burly battle axe.
Abilities:
Transformer Power (Passive Ability): Rex passively channels his energy through methods of magnification. Via mental prowess, Rex energizes his muscles and focuses them into do tasks that would normally seem impossible to the young man. Rex is able to lift approximately his body weight with concentrated effort (approx. 200 lbs), bend materials up to steel (although he usually ends up straining himself too much if he tries to bend steel extensively), and he is twice as agile as a normal human being. If he pushes himself too far, however, he becomes incredibly weak and is unable to physically do anything aside from walking for 12 hours.
Weapon Expertise (Passive Ability): With his extensive classroom knowledge in the use of weapons, Rex has created the ability to adapt to new weapons with greater ease (upon picking up a new weapon, it takes him less time to become proficient with it). While he has become proficient in the use of smaller swords such as rapiers or short swords, excessive use has caused Rex to shy away from the use of such weapons (average ability with rapiers/short swords, but not using them). Instead, he has begun to teach himself in the art of using axes. While he retains the generic knowledge of fighting form, the difference between weapons leaves him stumped (little to no fighting skill with axes, but he knows how to hold weapons, etc.).
