Power Groups.

For those of you who remember back when the Power Groups were frequent and active, you'll be glad to hear this. If you haven't gotten the chance to experience the days of active Power Groups, hopefully you'll be able to very, very soon. The features team has come up with a solution to the issue we face.

A brand new, carefully planned and well refined set of rules for Power Groups will be implemented soon, allowing and encouraging new activities that include the return of the Headquarters and Clan Warfare. If you haven't ever thought of joining a Power Group or if you've been just waiting for the right time, that time will come Thursday evening, when the new rules will be posted.

Keep an eye out and best of luck.

Will we see the rise of the BB? The Red Hand? The Black Hand? The Grander's Order? And all the other classics?

Hopefully yes. We need a good Power Group battle/war. Those were fun.

Is there a template on the site currently that shows whats needed to register a new power group? Its been awhile but if I remember correctly it goes through the RoG, right?

Yes, there's guidelines, but you may as well wait until Thursday for the new ones.

I hope the guidelines will make wars more friendly competitions OOC. I've only seen a couple of PG wars and they brought out the worst in people.

though I do want them to be active, I just don't want to see another red hand where members got such a bonus for being in the PG and often at the cost of the rest of the community.

Stop complaining. If it's going to come out then it's going to come out... the RH got no bigger income than any other PG, we just had occupations which also added to our profit. And the community wasn't affected by anything that happens with PG's goals, because you can ignore any of it in the first place, and there isn't a world market that can get messed up.

Do not start this into an argument. Take it up with each other via PM or AIM if you have bad blood about something.

Discussion is one thing, accusation is another. You've been warned.

*shrugs*

The cost of society is usually how crime syndicates work.. though I'm not sure if RH was of that nature. Speaking of crime syndicates, I'd actually like to know the effect power groups have on Althanas as a whole and how they'll be regulated by moderators and judges alike. Could make or break something I'm cooking up at the moment. *whistles innocently*

I never meant to argue and I'm sorry for any offense but I think what I'm saying may help the system be much better.

I really think what I said should be heard since I do want PGs to be good and I'm sorry ranger but I did find the old Red Hand to exemplify the problems of the PG system, and you are right that now we can shop in Fallien and other places that the Bazaar war messing up Althanas. But in the end The Exchange outpost of the Red Hand was rather corrupt with PC merchants greatly ripping off customers to gain obscene amounts of gold with little to no work and in the end it's probably one of the reasons no one uses the Bazaar right now. I'm sorry if you meant that I didn't want you to reinvent the red hand, I think if it works well it'll be good for the site. Just if you bring back the RHEO shop then be sure to assert that while it's ok for merchants to make some money off of it they need to be reasonable and fair or they can no longer be merchants.

Now my other complaint is that the old outpost system was quite annoying in giving away free EXP and gold and while I think there's nothing wrong with great PGs getting a little extra but having threads that are flooded with "I want my EXP" are simply annoying and make it hard to find quests I want to read or new posts that affect me. Now I think a simple system like a headquarter owning PG could gain 5 or 10% extra exp from a PG quest would be fine and also make sure active members only get the bonus instead of freeloaders.

Wait for the rules to be posted before you commentate further, please, as you're suggesting things that are already extremely likely to be included.

Clan Wars and competition are neccessary for a healthy PG system. Whether it is offensive to anybody is purely based on circumstances and personal outlook, nothing more. Please, let's not waste time dwelling on things from the past that we did not support.

This looks decidedly appetizing.

...Just in time for me to have a lot more time to write. How nice!
