Rise of the Red Hand?

Heh, I guess I’m being pushed into this a little earlier than I had planned, but here’s the thing. I want to bring back the RH to all its former glory. If you’ve been on Althanas a while you’ve known the work the Red Hand has done in the past, how powerful it was in the past, and how much it gave to Althanas and it’s members. Some of it’s members, like me, have gone through almost everything through the years. I’ve been a member of Althanas for over 4 years, and a member of the RH for all but the first three of those… lol.

So, that being said, I want to bring it back to the world’s view. The eyes of the people are turning to the new PG system, and I’m not sure what is going to happen with it and such, but I’ve been working on bringing it back for a while now.

Here’s the deal.

Ranger holds a plot of land purchased from the RH back when we had an outpost. It is a 40 acre plot, half woodlands, half flatlands, at the base of the mountains. A trade route from the old Pandemoniums Fist runs along one of the edges, meaning that full access to the caves for further mining exploits and anything else that might be affected by a mountain is still permitted. Ranger is, after all, a miner at heart.

I plan on finally doing something with the plot of land. I was going to build a house on it, but figured that instead of having a personal story for the drow I’d put everyone else into it too… lol. How kind of me, I know…

I still plan on building a place of residence, but this time it’s going to be something larger, like a barracks or a very large in. I want to allow all professions and people to do what they want on it. Make it a small city of its own, or something like the old outpost we once had. This time, however, it will also accomidate a blacksmithy, and other buildings for practicing trade instead of just selling wares.

I’m going to make this in the Althylia Verse thing, so that it’ll be open for a good bit, and let people come and go as they please, no limits on posts, no time structure, stuff like that’s going to be dependant on the people rping. However, I would ask that anyone joining would respect others… if you are the thread and involved with someone rp-wise, don’t bail. At least write yourself out, or keep up a bit.

So, who all’s interested? Of course, previous members of the RH are more than welcome to join again… I just ask that if you do so you help anyone of the newer members to join. Ranger will, for now at least, be the figure head in charge… only because I’m a bit more active than Sorhan, who was supposed to take it over I think…

Just hit me up here, or via PM, either way works. I should have the opening thread up sooner or later, probably tonight sometime since I’ve got nothing else to do. Heh.

Well, nice to see that someone's trying to bring back the good ol' RH. ^^

Just so you know, Athylia's Verse no longer exists, it has been removed from Althanas because it failed to do what it was supposed to. But, I would be interested in rejoining the Red Hand as I was a member of it rather briefly before I left Althanas... or did it crash? I can't remember anymore... Anyway, that is of course if you'll have a vagrant, slightly crazy killer in your ranks. Witch doesn't have any trades and originally joined the RH because she was second in command of the Chaos Within Order PG and they were allied with the RH. I personally would like to get her back into the RH, but I'd need a good IC reason in order for her to do it because she's so solitary now.

If you can get an IC reason to join, then we'll have at it. If not, you could just mill about and take fortune in our profit and possible wars... lol.

Do we have plans to get said cash? Or will we be starting from scratch?

Also, the money that he has is his, lol. He's earned that shite. I'm planning on building up the funds and using it to buy all knew shite for the new outpost area. We'll also have access to all the old stuff in the caves, kinda splitting the forces of the RH but at the same time maintaining the Fist will be a full time job.

I'd like to have a fall back place to go if we get attacked... as well as a place to continue the mining profession for Ranger and any others that may want to join in... lol.

Koran! It was Koran that was the member, not this account. And Koran was a leather merchant/tanner. He like to leave that profession however and re-apply for Alchemist and Powders Manufacture and Specialist. :)

what do you think Zig here could do? He doesn't really have any skills besides hand to hand. Maybe best suited for the Black Hand if that thing comes back. hmm

You could always start as a Novice to something and pair up with someone who's better versed in a skill.

Or you could make your character learn something! That's always fun. And they're fairly easy quests and EXP, gold and what not.

Yeah. The Black Hand MAY be coming back, but probably not as a full entity to itself. It was good for the dirty work, and protection, but I'm thinkin' it may work a bit differently.

My plans are... extensive and definitely unique. So I may be 'hiring' people to act as gaurdsmen or the local militia. We'll see. It'd be a bit till then though, so I'd suggest taking up a hobbie or profession for now...

Also, I figure I'll go ahead and explain a little of my idea's. I told Sword the general idea already.

So, with 40 acres of good land, Ranger has always wanted to make his own little place to stay. However, after being absent from the world for so long (in the quest "Beneath the Mire") he has come back to a lot of strife and warfare.

So, on this land, he is going to build a small society. Not sure, but I'm almost convinced it hasn't been tried by anyone to actually build a city... lol.

Since the RH is somewhat in shambles, he wants to reunite everyone and start up the clan again. In doing so, he is going to establish and IC outpost for the RH, a town run and controlled by the group. It'll have inns, taverns, houses, businesses, ect...

It's going to be rough at first, since all that's currently there is a big open space, and a big wooded space. However, with access to the Fist we'll still be able to have a base income... and using that will be able to build up the town. If I have any woodsmen left they'll be able to do their work and actually use their tools to put up buildings and such.

I want some masons, carpenters, metal workers... everything. Once the town is erected it will not be closed off to RH member's only, everyone's going to be welcome to come and go as they please. Make it a place of residence, or whatever else they want to use it as. Also, this will make it a place where my soldiers and warriors will be able to make their presence.

With a town there is bound to be a bit of crime, and other problems. I want to have people to mill about, watch the crowds, work with everyone... general enforcers if you will.

I would love to see this group return to its former glory. Yes, Ithy did choose me as the new leader of the clan when he killed his old character. However the clan was already falling apart and receding into the darkness, so I didn't do much. And you're right, recently I've been experiencing kind of a funk in activity. I haven't done a whole lot of posting (read: none at all lol) but I would like to try to pull myself out of that funk, and this may be just the thing to do it. I really don't care whether or not I return as the leader like I was before (lol probably best if I don't) but I would like to be centrally involved.

I wouldn't mind joining the RH with this character for now.

She has talent in demon summoning, sigils and wards. I'm not sure if you could stick her anywhere at the moment, but I'd like to throw her out there anyway.

I'm still unsure about where to stick Witchy. She wouldn't have a problem helping to build this city that you want to make, after all she helped with the reconstruction of Haide when the demons were forced from Haidia. I'd really like to get her into something besides the Black Hand, which you don't seem to be remaking as of yet, but she doesn't have any skills in anything but well, killing. Her social skills also limit the kinds of things she can do, perhaps blacksmithing. I'm really not too sure. I'll have to think on it.

Anyway, Ranger, I'd like to at least be in charge of something. :P Maybe we can collaborate on some things. Send me a PM or something and we see how we can get this thang started.

Oh btw, if I remember correctly, Ithermoss came back as Rakh. We even did a thread about him returning to take his throne over the Red Hand. Unless I've been so oblivious as to miss his second departure, I think he's still technically the leader of the RH, so we should probably run some of this by him. <.<

Edit: I also believe that the old Red Hand was eventually absorbed into what is now the Gol'Bron Cult of the Thayne... and that's technically an active clan. So... we might have to figure something out about that too.
