Would anyone like to be in horse race (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=5560)? Taking of course into effect the level restrictions. If no one will, I might just up the level a bit...based on those that are interested.

Well....how much can one really say about horse racing?
It's kinda like Nascar....without all the cool crashes.
I guess it would be interesting if say....in this particular race...racers were attacking eachother. Sudden drops, traps, and fans getting in the way.
Just riding in a circle would be boring to write. XP

Well, Storm owns a horse, so this could be interesting. I, too, would rather have a race as part of a thread than as the sole driving force, but it could be an interesting challenge to write something like that.

Well you could pretty much powergame my character to death if you wanted to, and any hit that you didn't would kill me anyway. :p
I'm thinking that it might even be better if it wasn't just a 1vs1 thing...but more like a four way free for all, with four other NPC racers...

Hmmm, if that's the case, sign me up! Tommy isn't an incredibly experienced horse rider, but his time on Althanas got him the basics when traveling around.
Do we get to use our own abilities or just the item choice you laid out?
Edit: Thought I was still on Death's Nephew, lol. That will be the account I use for the race.

You have the choice of either selecting a weapon, or using your own, but you cannot pick another weapon and use your own. Either or, not both.
Abilities, well, there are no rules concerning those. :) Have at it.

If he can use his abilities, weapons are fairly obsolete with Storm.
And your weapon could be a distinct disadvantage to you, depending on what it's made of.

I'll give it a few days. (perhaps two or three) From there I'll either add more NPC's or just keep it as is and go with it.
I wouldn't mind tagging along with your idea, Bernard. This could very well even give Lisean a horse for a reward, and he could always use something that can get him around faster.
Thing is I'd have to make up the character during the quest. Maybe he could use one for the race, but steal it or something. hehehe.. being neutral can sometimes have its benefits.

Oh, and Lucien, I stated in my post I think, that the horses are temporary and will dissipate after the race is complete. You'd have to take it up with the monks (a.k.a. the mods) for that one. :)
I haven't come up with a first prize, but I'm thinking it'll be something like a laurel crown made of gold. Or the like.

Now, that aside, I do plan very soon on going ahead and posting up a bit for myself so that someone else is actually participating. :p
I think it sounds fun but one problem.....My characters a giant panda and i can't ride a horse,maybe a character could ride me?Someone give me some suggestions.And to answer your question burley knuckles i know burly bear in real life he says he has been banned for no reason.I'm sorry he said that he was banned forever.But i cant do anything with the race if the mods wont approve me.seriously theres like three on and non of them will do it.

Eh.. I guess I'd be up for taking up the challenge. This is Lisean, by the way. I haven't posted because I've been considering my ranger. I think he'd fit the role for combat much more. :P He's more dependant in my eyes then the spellcaster who only has two spells.
Oh, and Chi Chi, I did plan on having Oriseus finding a pet or animal companion at some point to better himself at combat and add a little spice to questing, not to mention it could prove to be quite worthwhile. Maybe you'd like to have Chi Chi team up with Oriseus for the race and have something started as a reward? Get back to me here or in PM.
