The Ebon Inquisition

Description:
Springing from a member of the Audeamus, the Ebon Inquisition is a group with the same purpose. To eradicate the weak and naive, however, the method of doing this is much different from that of the Audeamus. The Inquisition is much more structured and methodical in its doings. The way they go about achieving their goals differs from its parent group in a few key ways as well. Where the Audeamus uses violence, the Ebon Inquisition uses diplomacy. While the Audeamus are all violent individuals, the Ebon Inquisitors are not necessarily violent men and women of Althanas. The most important thing though, the Ebon Inquisition seeks to purge the land of all non-believers, hoping for strength religiously and militarily throughout Althanas. Although the group has remained small for some time, gathering plans together, they are not to be taken lightly.

Membership:
At any time in the Inquisition, like the Audeamus, there are only a certain number Inquisitors, the main members, and an uncertain number of other members.

Ranking:

Helm of the Inquisition: A’rei Ngoyu – Founder and current leader.

Sword of the Inquisition: This spot is reserved for the brilliant military mind that will run the offensive front of the Inquisition.

Shield of the Inquisition: This spot is reserved for the brilliant military mind that will run the defensive front of the Inquistion.

The Ebon Hand: *
The Crimson Hand: *
The Marble Hand: *
The Bronze Hand: *

* Each of these has equal say in the happenings of the Inquisition – they are the backbone of the military aspect of the group and generally handle field command or ventures on behalf of the group.

Members:
These are the members who may do what they please but when called upon, are expected to aid the group in whatever way they can.

Insignia:
The insignia of the Ebon Inquisition is the only way to identify a member and only those who have already seen it or learned of it can tell. The symbol of the group is a black raven etched in gold. Anything can be worn or used with the black and gold or with the raven symbol on it.

Example: A'rei generally wears a black cloak, the thread used to stitch it together is gold. Near the bottom of it, a small golden raven is stitched in. She wears seven black earrings and one gold one, the gold being in the middle.

In short, anything that symbolizes the group is required and must be visible to the naked eye.

Method of Joining:
All you're required to do out-of-character is post your interest and you will be examined and either accepted or rejected.

The only other thing needed is an in-character description of how you joined or heard of it and met A'rei in the first place. You do not need to do a thread, just have the reason ready should it ever come up somewhere.

Code of Conduct (in-character):
The ancient principles of the strong and cunning ruling the weak is generally applied, though there are a few rules on joining.

Each member, regardless of rank may join no other Power Group except the Audeamus.
Respect and discipline are a must.
Adherence to the religious views of the group is required, otherwise said individual will be removed from the ranks or worse.
Any infringement or harmful act toward the group or its members is at the discretion of the council to judge.

Code of Conduct (out-of-character):

Respect

Communication and Bases:
As of this moment, there is no one base. Members are sent a small letter with a meeting place -- these letters always contain nothing more except the black and golden raven on the envelope with only a stamp as a signature.

The Ebony Tome:

The basic teachings of the Ebony Goddess, Erythia (er-ith-ee-uh), include aspects of hate, discipline, and war. While this is an odd mix, the members of the order who follow in her footsteps have done nothing but prosper. Though the script is still in translation, some things have been unraveled.

The Basic Principles:

Hate: The book teaches to love those who are with you and hate those who are not. Either they will turn or they will suffer, what kind of suffering the book is not specific about.

Discipline: The book teaches to keep control of oneself and behave when it is required. Because of this, men and women who are raging lunatics are directed towards the open door of the Audeamus.

War: The book briefly describes the boons of war and its role in shaping a society.

[More has yet to be uncovered.]

This is terrible. I cannot believe you wasted our time with this.

Just kidding!

You are approved! I'll make all the arrangements immediately.

As per a private request from the player, I'll only put 300 GP into the treasury for now, with the understanding that the remaining 200 will come before the end of the 2-month grace period.
