*Update*

So... I've got a plan. I'm going to run a quest that is somewhat along the line of Ocean's 11, except there's only going to be like three or four of us and no Ocean.

There is a group of ne'er do wells who are looking to kidnap a certain diplomat. In order to do so, they need the following:

An information gatherer - Kyle Delaney, budding telepath
A smooth talker - Either an operator who can buddy up to the diplomat, or a seductress who can get in through his pants
A thug - For help with transport as well as dealing with any "difficulties"

This small team, along with a helpful representative from the group, will be boarding a local airship on which the diplomat keeps a semi-permanent residence. Think of it like a penthouse.

For my purposes, the kidnapping is a MacGuffin. Kyle joins on for the money and action but leaves once the job is completed (if it's completed?;)). I know there's a small blossoming in PG interest, so if there's a PG that's up for being the "group of ne'er do wells" conscripting people they think may later become full members of their group, and thus allowing them to do with the kidnapped diplomat what they wish (extortion and all that good stuff) please post your interest.

I'm willing to run this with with two to four others, doubling any of the positions in the case of three or more others. First come, first serve unless someone gives me a really good character reason/story addition.

Oh, and I'd like to see active posting, though I'm not gonna, like, check on people's activity history (mostly because mine kind of sucks, though it gets really bad when I'm not having others keep me on my toes).

Wrae is a sailor.. essentially a pretty versatile character for a quest like this. Not exactly straight-up thug, but you tell me if he fits the bill..

lol :) Crum defiantly fits in as the thug :)...but never call him a thug = =

Alright guys, I'll try to get a post up in the next two days. I'm not really able to garner from you guys profile what your alignment is. I just want to make sure that both of you understand that this job is something that will not be, well, let's say liked, by the authorities.

Crum seems (from what I've read) like a merc, though you've put in a little bit of a heart of gold aspect. He can work as thug/muscle/"difficulty-eraser." Wrae could fit in the same bill.

As I've envisioned the quest, we're low men on a totem-pole. We've been hired either as extra-help, or because we have an ability that may give the kidnappers an edge. Crum seems like the kind of guy that may get picked up. Strong half-dragon's are always useful. Wrae on the other hand, we'll need to think about. You don't have anything (that I can see) that would draw their attention and you neither look like a guy that would go looking for a job like this. A perplexing conundrum that we will need to think upon. Post ideas and we'll work it out.

Either way, you're both in.

Now we still don't have our smooth-talker. The position is still open, so if outside parties are reading this and your character is either hot and/or can talk his/her way into anything, feel free to sign up.

If not, we'll create an NPC. If we have to go with an NPC, what's yalls vote, we working with a seductress or a fast-talker?

Either way, opening posts will be intros and how we're picked up by the group. I'm interested in trying to connect this to Audeamus (a criminal/destructive PG), but I want to get higher up approval first. I don't see why the group wouldn't use pawns (us), but they may not.

Again, I'm busy tomorrow and Sunday, but I'll try to get a post up (I've got already running quests and battle I may need to tend to first), but this will be started at latest, Monday.

I expect Wrae would end up involved in this from a transport or mercantile end. He is not an inherently lawless character, but his forte is not so much "big picture" as focusing on a task at hand. Thus he is approached while on his current period of shore leave as an experienced navigator and courier, and becomes entangled to an extent where he must follow through with his unexpected role.

Although Wrae is not what anyone would call a smoot operator, his skills in trade and material negotiation are recognized. Perhaps we could get in at this diplomat through some kind of material angle, i.e. an item of particular interest to him, a staged trade-related diplomatic claim, or even blackmail.

What are we thinking?

Apologies for the silence. Here's the post (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?p=70643#post70643).

Alright, I like what you've gotten and I say run with it. Personally, I'm running with a theme of "truth." Kyle's got a warped sense of humanity and the truth of it, as you can read. You could be hired to deliver an unknown item, not even given the item until on the boat. You could be wrestling with the truth of why you're here.

Crum knows the factual truth. He's there to crack some heads, get an unconscious body off a boat, and get paid.

Again, run with what you want, these are just my ideas.

Lets make the first posts intros (which I feel mine is really weak, had to force myself to write *sigh*) and the offer. We're all basically patsies and pawns of much bigger players.

Keep the details obscure, I'm not sure if I want a diplomat, a rich guy, or maybe some other criminal.

And just a warning, I'll try to keep up, but I'm for one reason or another (as has been shown) I'm horrible at keeping up with posts. Just keep pestering me when it's my turn.

And if you have any questions/want help with direction, PM me. If we need to talk, tell me a time to get on AIM.

So... let's have some fun.

Hey guys, sry about the delay.

I'm hitting a roadblock as far as how this should go. What I though was a cool idea is kind of falling apart as I continue to play it out in my head. If you all want to continue, I guess we can just run by the seat of our pants, because I'm not sure what to do. Post back with comments.

We can make this work if you want it to. I think the general idea is to keep the outline in mind, but really just run with it. See where it takes us.

Yes? No?

Yeah, let me get something together tonight, if I don't, bombard my PM box until I do.
