Closed to Cyrus.

As she shuffled through the scorching sand, Syneare reflected that at the very least, Fallien was honest about hating people. Its golden sands didn't lie about how deadly they truly were. It didn't offer even the slightest strain of hope to the weak. Its people were hardy; its creatures were hardy...and that's probably why Dan had wanted her to come here.

She hadn't yet been told what, exactly, they were doing in Fallien, but she didn't really care, to be perfectly honest. She'd do what she had to, and preferably kill people while doing it. People were a nuisance, all of them. The leader of the group had found her after the raid on the Bazaar, and after a moment or two of linguistic confusion, he had told her that she would go to Fallien with the sorcerer Luc Kraus. So she'd gone. With him was as good a way to go as any.

In joining the Audeamus, the self-destructive Elven hybrid had found other people-haters. Not just any people-haters, though. She'd found people haters that would kill, maim, and rob other people -- and sometimes even their own. They weren't exactly like her, but they did understand that people were a plague. They understood the inherent worthlessness of the common man, and she could appreciate that.

The loose fraternity that was the Audeamus was new, and thus looking for ways to strengthen itself and make its name feared. She supposed that was what they were doing now, and it made sense. The more fear they generated as a small force, the more terror would follow once the Audeamus was well-established.

"Kraus," she finally piped up in her lackluster voice, "vel'klar ph'udos aluin?"

Drow...her father's cursed tongue. What a fitting tongue to use among the dark, violent, and damned. She hadn't spoken to Luc up until this point, so she didn't know if he spoke the language at all or not, or if he even understood Elven. If not, it didn't matter. They just wouldn't waste energy with words.

"Kraus, where are we going?"
