Silas refused, and was thrown out again. he then lived behind the local tavern for a few years, learning anything anyone would teach him, which wasn't much. he left the town when he was fifteen, with nothing more than the clothes he was wearing and a pair of hardened leather gloves. two days later, the village was overcome by bandits. when he was thourly lost and confused, he was met by a man who invited him to have dinner with him in a mansion. later that night, the bandits attacked the mansion, killing the old man and severly wounding the young Silas. when Silas regained conciousness, he was leaned against a bookcase, with a young man standing above him. this man told him that he had the power to save his life, but the price was steep. if the man saved Silas, Silas would have had to shed his Humanity. so he was asked a simple question: die a human, or become a vampire? Silas agreed. the next day, he woke up with some Alchemistry equiptment and a few scrolls to teach him how to mix chemicals and such to make elixers and other items. he then drifted from town to town, buying and selling for a living, mixing elixers and potions for anyone who would pay his fees, rarely fighting.
