The setting sun provided no warmth to a frigid Izvilvin, who hung high up against the wall of Castle Rathaxea. He was but a black speck on this east wall, dangling precariously from sai he had driven deep into the cracks in the stone.

His price was high – two thousand gold pieces. His fee had risen with the difficulty of the jobs he was being offered, and this was a perfect example. Ashiakin Azzarak was his target, and details were few and far between. Izvilvin knew his location and his look, but needed no more. He didn’t want to humanize the target, giving himself any sort of moral dilemma. He needed to kill, and it was as simple as that.

The sound of iron grating against concrete was one the Drow struggled to suppress, especially as he neared the frame of an open window. Stretching, he peered inside, not seeing anybody within. Climbing inside as only an elf could, Izvilvin put his weapons away and skulked through the room – a chamber filled with elegant bedding, tapestries and magical light.

Ivory walls framed his approach as Izvilvin made his way down the hallway, listening intently for any sign of a guard or inhabitant. Luck was on his side, as he neared a doorway of wood, golden engravings etched in a design. Pressing his ear against it, the Drow could hear conversation within, only two voices.

Using his typical approach, Izvilvin kicked the door in and entered, taking deliberate steps and looking about to see what the chamber presented.
