Weapons: None
Armor: Wizard robes decorated both in arcane symbols and Scientific symbols. They don't provide much protection against physical attacks, but they do keep their wearer nice and comfortable, regardless of outside Temperatures. Wizard shoes that enable their wearer to walk on air. These particular shoes enable five minutes of air walk, and there is a spell on them preventing them from leaving the family line, which means Xos cannot sell them or in any other way get rid of them, unless it is to someone closely related by blood.

Skills:
>>>Magic: Magic is a blanket energy that exists everywhere, even in the deep dark cold depths of space. Anyone can do magic, but there are some its more active in than others. Each person has a certain amount of magic they can use at any one time, any more than that, and they will injure themselves, possibly even kill themselves in casting. This does not mean that once they've used it, their done with magic, they just need some time to rest, and draw in more mana with which to do magic. The place Xos comes from, Theorises that magic can be used in conjunction with science to form powers even more frightening than magic or science alone.

Spells Known: Magnetisim - Magnetisim is magic based upon a scientific principle. It allows the caster to do one of four things at casting, Magnetise or increase the magnetisim of an object, Demagnetise or decrease the Magnetisim of an object, create a Magnetic field in an area, or reverse the polarity of a Magnetic field. The strength of this spell is dependant upon caster level, thus, for levels 0-1 it is no stronger than that of a Common refridgerator magnet, nor can anything be manipulated more than that amount.

Fireball - One of the first and easiest spells to master, often one of the last forgotten, Xos's Fireball looks like a real working model of an Atom. The atom modeled is quite random, though with practice and more thorough knowledge of the elements and atoms, Xos will be able to choose what atom is modeled.
This spell will always remain at a single strength, but with more levels, Xos will be able to create more than one fireball at once.

Minor Object Creation - This spell lets him create a variety of small objects of his choosing. A screw, a nut, a lens, these are just a few examples of the small things he can create.

Arcane Blast - When fire just won't work a blast of pure magic will. Energy leaps out from Xos, and creates several minor explosions no bigger than a gold coin. As Xos levels up this spell becomes stronger and manifests diffrently.

Energy Shield - Like the name says, its a shield of energy. It protects against anything thrown against it, but it also requires constant magic from its caster to stay up. An energy shield can take any form. Higher levels enable longer uses of energy shield.
A decently strong attack will destroy the shield, after which Xos must wait a while to cast it again, assuming in a battle each post equals six seconds of action then approximatly 6 posts must go by before another use.

Non magic skills:
The ability to craft parts of complex machines and build them.
A High degree of intelligence.
Keen senses

Equipment:
Other than the few things listed above, Xos has a pendant with a Photograph of his nine best friends inside, Khalan, Ray, Kado, Rose, Quis, Stella, Chron, Scria and Agrinja.

History:
Xos does not come from the Reality in which the world of Althanas is located. His Reality is beyond the stars in another Reality similar in nature but diffrent in Geography and level of knowledge. Xos's Reality was one in which his people regularly traveld the stars. Magic was a thing of the past, though some few still had its gifts. Xos was one such mage, but it was rare for him to be bale to use his powers, because there was very little magic to be found. Science had defeated magic, and creatures such as dragons had to interbreed with humans to survive. Xos's great, great, great, great grandfather was a dragon, which is where Xos gets his keen senses and irregular bone structure from. At first glance, Xos appeares a normal human, but upon a second longer look, one finds that his jaw structure resembles that of a Dragon, and his eyes are like those of a dragon, His nails are tougher, but not as tough as a half dragon, and when his skin dries out scales develop. Its thought that his ancestory is where he got his powers from.

Xos's studies lead him to believe that it was possible for Magic and science to blend and become one unified force.

Xos arrived in Althanas when he was reading a strange book scribed by the ancients who had great power. He was trying to understand what it meant by, other Realities and places beyond comprehension, when a spell he was reading activated as if by a miracle and transported him to Althanas.

Now a stranger in a strange land, Xos hopes to find a way home, or a way to bring his friends to him.

Alright, there's some work to be done before I can approve this.

First off, including your non-magic skills, you have too many skills in your profile. I'd be willing to give you some leeway, but you still need to decrease the number of skills by at least two. That said, I'll leave it up to you to choose which ones you'll drop.

Please elaborate on Tough Skin and Magic Resistance. Your skin shouldn't be tougher then, let's say, studded leather.

He can't have shoes that enable him to walk on air indefinitely. Not only is that a pretty strong spell, but it's also an enchanted item which I tend not to approve at level zero. If you put a time limit on the air walking and state that you won't sell the shoes, I'll allow it.

Fireball can, for now, cause only mild and moderate burns.

Energy Shield should for now be able to block only one fairly strong attack. After that, it should dissipate and you should have a cooldown time of at least five posts.

That's about it. Make those edits and you'll be playing with the rest of us in no time.

I got rid of Tough skin ansd magic resistance, of the non-magic skills, they were the least important. The intelligence, I'm not sure if being smart is a skill, but I wasn't sure if it was something that could be listed or just assumed, but I listed it anyway just to be safe.

Anyways, you had asked about tough skin, and his wasn't as tough as studded leather, just regular leather. I was thinking of cowhide at the time, and how it is hard to cut through. The scales his skin develops when it dries are scales in looks only, and provide nothing else.

The Magic resistance cut the effectiveness of magic used against him by 10% But as I said, tough skin and magic resistance were not as important as the first two non-magic skills.

I may need help as I go along, because as I'm sure you noticed, I have difficulty in giving a character too much at once, or overpowering them.

The end result I have in mind is developing a force called Magiscience, the marriage of Magic and science, stronger than either force alone. Of course, true magiscience will not develop for several more levels, but I need help, because as I said, I have trouble with not making things overpowered.
I'm hoping I will find a couple people willing to help me with my endeavor.

High intelligence is fine. It's a skill, but it's not a combat skill so I'll allow it.

The limits on Tough Skin and Magic Resistance seem reasonable enough. However, as I said before, you simply had too many skills at the very beginning. You can always gain those two later on, through roleplaying and then add them at the next level up.

Making an overly powerful character is something that most people go through when they first came to Althanas, so you shouldn't be too worried about it. That's why we have these approval threads to create a balance between characters. If you rp your spells in accordance to their description, there will be no trouble. If you go overboard, the judges might score you a bit lower for powergaming, but there would be no other repercussions.
